Uncomfortable beds and small rooms

I only needed somewhere to stay overnight in Manchester as we were getting in at 9pm and traveling on at 11am. Very good service.

Staff were excellent. Clean rooms. Great location.

The hotel and it's accommodation did not match the description in the sales pitch. It was like a poor student hall of residence and certainly not a hotel. The room smelled musty and was extremely basic. On the positive side staff were pleasant and the shower was good, breakfast was adequate.

The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Manchester and I couldn't fault the staff, who were both polite and attentive. Unfortunately, the beds are only suitable for those who would choose to sleep on rocks, and the screaming, shouting and banging from rough and rowdy residents at 3am, 4am, 5am etc, did nothing to make me want to stay here again. […] The area (being a city centre) is less than desirable and although nothing to do with the hotel, the fact that there were ladies used sanitary items outside the front entrance, was just another reason that I wouldn't want to stay again. Sorry Ibis. Your staff did a good job to break up the disruption at 4am but I really don't want to stay here again! 더 보기

Excellent Hotel for a short stay (Weekend). Well located, near to Bar's and shopping. Friendly stuff.

Staff on reception were very friendly.. and room was clean and comfortable and close to everything i needed centraly

Simple, no frills hotel in a great location. Seriously noisy, I slept through it but boyfriend was awake all night listening to shouting, singing revellers, car alarms and sirens. Bring your earplugs, you'll be fine.

Stayed here with the wife over the Xmas period and was very satisfied. Close to the city centre which enabled us xmas shopping with ease, and china town where we ate in one of the resturants. Price for the stay was reasonable, esp during Xmas time and the discounted parking at the nearby NCP car park was an added bonus. Relatively cheap and convenient for city centre. Staff friendly. Would stay again.

This hotel is fine for a short stay and very local to nightlife or shopping. The staff are very friendly helpful and pleasant. Even though the food menu is not vast it is great they have a bar and hot food 24hour. I think the hotel is value for money and great idea having a small bar/snack menu. I would definately recommend

right in the hub of town.restraunts nearby.room very basic and a bit run down but very clean.shower smelled horrid every time the hot water ran,like burning plastic.overall a good hotel as a central point for a night out in manchester but we were there as a family wit a 6 year old.

clean, warm, convenient, friendly staff. Yeah it's quite basic but it has everything you want at the price. Highly recommend.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good standard. Firm bed, spare pillows in wardrobe, kettle with coffee/tea/ milk ect provided. Hairdryer was provided. Blackout blinds in the room, air conditioner, large shower. Tv provided. Everything was clean and neat .Overall relaxing and enjoyable

I stayed here 2 days and im very happy overall. The only thing that can be said is that the bed could be a little softer. Great location, very clean rooms and good service.

The price and location of the hotel makes the ibis manchester an attractive destination. The staff were exemplary, courteous, friendly and welcoming. The Hotel, however, looks tired and needs some TLC especially in the bedrooms and corridors, the bathroom was an area that needs attention, the shower door no longer fit. Enjoyed our stay, staff were very nice let us check in early. No complaints , would stay again. Good value for what we paid.

Having stayed in an Ibis before I knew what to expect, however, I was disappointed with this particular one as the bedding was stained, the skirting board was falling off, whenever I used the toilet it sounded like it was about to rip off the wall and felt very unsteady. Also, the fire alarm went off at 5.30am and no member of staff alerted us as to […] whether it was a drill or apologised for it. Very clean and inviting entrance and lobby and really excellent reception staff. Rooms tend to be too warm though and very noisy if you open the windows.

i found this hotel in a perfect location not far from the main shopping centre train station and bars/clubs and restaurants. very comfortable and clean . staff very helpful and friendly. i would recommend staying here .

I'm pretty satisfied and appreciated myself for choosing Ibis as my accommodation for Manchester. it was my first time in Manchester so i was worried about how i will get along alone, but when i left coach from national express, i found Ibis in just few steps away from Coach Station. and since it was a business tour, and i had a beauty show in Manchester […] central, so i was looking affordable hotels but at the same time i was looking a convenient location, and Ibis for the Perfect choice, i got Manchester Central exhibition hall in just 5 mins walk from hotel, and i got coach station in just 3 mins walk. the most thing i like is location, you can find alot of pubs, bar and nice restaurants just next to hotel. the facilities were luxurious as well, and the staff were enough friendly and very helpful. there aint anything i don't like about that hotel.. 더 보기

Room was perfect for the price, nice and cheap too which is just what we wanted for a quick overnight stay. Couldn't fault anything, staff on reception were very accommodating and the rooms were clean and minimal which is what you would expect for a cheap price like that. Hotel location is good with a "Q" car park next door, don't forget to ask for your car park coupon to get reduced parking fees, they didn't offer i asked if there was any discounts available, staff friendly and effecient although rooms are over looked by another hotel opposite. Fast and efficient check in. Compact room with everything expected. Not stayed here or in an IBIS before, but would do so again. Check hotel website - there are two car parks close by that offer hotel customers heavily reduced parking and so that made it even better!

It is the first time I have used this hotel but I will definitely use it again. It was very clean and modern and offered fantastic value for money. The staff were lovely and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Spent one night at Hotel Ibis in Manchester. Within walking distance of railway station. Very clean comfortable, thought basic. Very helpful & friendly staff. Good breakfast!

This was our first stay in an Ibis and we were pleasantly surprised. Room only had the basics but was clean and functional. Bed seemed rather firm at first but had great night sleep (surprisingly quiet despite facing onto main road). Handy to Oxford Rd rail station and easy walk to shops, restaurants and bars. Portland street always has a bus to pass through, very noise while stay in the room.

Stayed for 3 Nights May 2011, having previousy stayed there before. Reception/Bar/Breakfast area have all been refurbished since last visit and are modern and bright, if somewhat less comfortable than previously. Checkin was quick and easy, I have always found staff friendly and efficient here. Rooms have not been refurbished and I was shocked how tired […] my room looked. First thing I noticed was smell in bathroom and noticed the drain cover had been left out of the shower, presumably during cleaning, replaced it and smell diminished. Then I noticed the Heater/Cooling unit over the door was absolutey filthy. Also difficult to control, seemed to have a mind of its own. Only 2 towels which were thin and worn and although the bed linen was clean it was far from crisp and fresh. TV has very basic channels and there is a lot of advertising for TV/Internet packages which would add considerably to cost of stay. Overall room is very basic the only positives are the bed is comfortable and excellent shower with lots of space, great water pressure and constant hot water temperature. This must have been first time i'd had a room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the busy road and I do have to say road noise was constant and quite loud. Worth asking for a room to the rear if possible. Breakfast is hearty and plentiful, definitey worth having. Bar is much reduced since my last visit and late night snacks now consist of self service sandwiches and snacks, including some to microwave. This is a big change since my last stay and definitely a minus in my view. Again, have to say staff could not be faulted and although it was 15 months since my last visit, some staff remembered my face. The thing that saves this hotel is its great location and if you can get a deal, it's worth staying in, if only just for that reason. Prices do seem to be creeping up(even pointed out by staff in conversation) and it certainly wouldn't be worth full rate. Overall i'd consider spending a bit more to 더 보기

when on a budget this may well be the best option in manchester, new stylish, simple and great shower in the moring! a very quiet room even though we were on the main road! booked it when seeing a concert in manchester and very central for bars & partying. very friendly staff! i'll be booking again!

TV did not work properly otherwise very basic but decent room.

sound proofing not very good,corridoors echo,woken by drunks in the corridor. room warm could not open window as too noisy outside.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Lobby very organized, everything very clean, great location & helpful staff. Would definately stay there again. Good value I think too. They can give you a reduction on car park fees at the Q car park behind the hotel (very convenient but get directions as there are various car parks nearby !

stayed 1 night 6th nov nice hotel very contempary hotel, staff welcoming upon arrival.but we didnt relise there was no iron,trouser press ex.we had to pay a deposit,breakfast nice had a choice.

This hotel is in a wonderful location for all main Manchester events. China town round the corner, and the comdey store and MOSI etc very easy walking distance. Hotel warmer than any other IBIS I have stayed in before, which was a bonus, but usual problem with not enough towels, and the onces we had were tiny. We stayed at the Ibis for the weekend. It was a birthday surprise for the boyfriend as he wanted to see Old TRafford(not me, Im a scouse!) The hotel was situated in the city centre just a stones throw away from the main city centre for shopping etc. About 5 mins walk up from the hotel theres a bar/restaurant called the Blue Parrot. We went for food […] on the first night and for drinks on the second night. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff are lovely, so friendly anmd we ended up staying there til after it had closed at 2 o clock. The Trafford centre of course is a must see. This place is like a town in itself. There is absolutely nothing they dont have. Takes about half an hour by bus from just outside the Ibis. From the hotel to the city centre, There is an unbelievable amount of bar restaurants and clubs for different ages and tastes whichever direction you go and theres promotions everywhere. And if your coming from a euro country to Manchester, you'll notice the difference in the price... 더 보기

Despite the renewal works going on in the reception area, (July 2010) the welcome was very good and all the staff were both pleasant and efficient. The room was quiet and, although basic, very adequate for the stay. The breakfast was good and as you would expect. I would certainly stay here again
