good position, nice view, terrible breakfast.

The rooftop spa was amazing. Room was very clean. Large bathroom. Patio view wonderful. The only downsides were that the tv was old and our DVD player didn't work. I notified the front desk and they promptly notified maintenance. But maintenance did not fix it. No central heating/ air. Bed seemed a bit old/ worn. Having said all that, I'd still stay […] here again and recommend it to others for the location on Cannery Row, ocean views, friendly staff, clean hotel. 더 보기

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, but this is the first time I used Hotels.com to make arrangements. I have to say, I was disappointed for the first time. Evidently the hotel has changed it's description of the rooms that I stay in, and when I booked the room through Hotels.com, I thought I was getting the same type of room I always reserve. […] This was not the case, and I found out when they gave me the key to the room. I came back down to the desk, and was informed of the description change, and was told I would have to pay an additional $20/night to have the room I initially wanted. The hotel took no responsibility for the confusion, even though they were the ones that informed me that they had changed the description on the web site. Finally getting into the room, I found a dirty wash cloth over the shower, candy wrappers on the floor, and the screen door that leads to the balcony was installed backwards, so that there was no easy way to open it...Needless to say, I was very disappointed in how the hotel handled it, especially being a return guest of some 10 years and counting. I can only hope this is an unfortunate one time hiccup, in what is usually first rate service. 더 보기

The hotel was lovely! We got a complimentary breakfast, hot tub, and it was a walking distance from the monterey bay aquarium and all the beautiful shops and restaurants on historic Cannery Row. It was a tourist's delight with the ocean right in front of the hotel. The only downside was that it cost $15 per night for parking.

...and LOVED it! I am one of those travelers who will get a wild hair and book a room at the last minute. This was one of those times, and I only like to stay at top notch places. Fortunately, Hotels.com told us about Monterey Bay Inn, which wasn't a place we would have picked based on the pictures. However, we took a chance after the rep told us it […] was highly rated. We thought, "what's the worse thing that can happen?" We lucked out. From the check-in (with Josh - super friendly) to the check-out (lady also very friendly) and everyone in between (room service, housekeeping, maintenance) we were treated first class. Our only complaints were the pillows (too soft for us) and the fireplace pilot kept going out (it was very windy), but the maintenance guy was alway prompt, polite, and efficient. This was our first time staying here and it won't be the last. It is a perfect location right in the middle if Fishermans Wharf and Cannery Row. We were able to walk to either location for an awesome dinner. The views and the sounds from the hotel were very soothing. We had a great ocean/park view. I took my sister there to celebrate her birthday. It was wonderful, our room was right on the water, and listening to the waves was so mesmerizing. We were served breakfast in our room, and they even served the hard boiled eggs in egg cups and they were warm and PEELED.

Beautiful balcony, beautiful scene... but hotel itself is just normal, even expensive. anyway enjoyed surroundings.

Beth at the front desk was awesome! The view was incredible. Fun having a light breakfast delivered to your room to enjoy on the balcony. Loved the special touches at this hotel, like the binoculars and robes in the room. Loved the spa overlooking the ocean. Had a spa treatment which was fabulous. We were able to walk everywhere. We wanted to stay in a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and this was the perfect place. The hotel from the outside didn't really give you an indication what the rooms would be like. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was tastefully decorated and the marble bathroom was big and beautiful. I was nice getting our continental […] breakfast delivered to our room. Our room was located on the 4th floor overlooking the ocean. Beautiful! The hotel was far enough from the crowds yet close enough to the action at Cannery Row. We love everything about this hotel. The rooms are large and have great views, the beds are very comfortable, and breakfast is brought to your door in the morning!. It’s very luxurious without being opulent like the Plaza next door.

The staff were friendly and very helpful .I found the bed to be uncomfortable , the pillows were equaly uncomfortable . They had a featherbed cover over the old mattress but it really didnt help much . The screen door and the sliding doors to the balcony came off the track several times during my stay . Water temp in room shower a little chilly. Hotel.com said the hotel had steam room and it didn't. Hotel.com booked me into a room and massage package and the hotel is trying to get money from me for the massage.

We just stayed 2 nights at this hotel and we found it to be a very upscale, modern, comfortable place to stay in Monterey. Within walking distance to Cannery Row and all the restaurants, it was truly the perfect place to stay. Frank and Donna

We stayed here for one night on our recent road trip in the states. The room quality was fantastic and the view was amazing. We had an ocean view room and you are literally straight above the water. The staff were all very friendly. The views from the hot tub on the balcony were breath taking. I definately recomend this hotel for any couple looking […] for a romantic night or any one that wants to stop over in Monterey in their travels on the Coast. Great location, good staff, terrific view. My only complaint, being 'of age' as I am, is that the furniture and toilets are too low.

Really enjoyed the private balcony over looking the water. In room morning breakfast was fantastic and relaxing I'd book again in a second!

The room has a great view and was very comfortable. We were able to check in early and check out late. It was a wonderful stay and walked to all the shops and dinning areas.

Hotel was clean and bathroom was very nice and roomy. Location on/by the water with private balcony was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable and room was large. WiFi included. Those are the pluses. The negatives are: tv was outadated (not flat panel), breakfast was lacking, long walk to cannery row, charge to park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monterey Bay Inn. The location was great and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff was very friendly. Our room was very clean and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever had at a hotel. We really enjoyed the hot tub on the roof. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location. Great view from balcony of bay, pier and park. Wine delivered to room. Excellent restaurant next door with outdoor seating. Breakfast brought to room to enjoy on balcony. Comfortable, large room. No complaints. Will stay again.

I have been here for four or five years in a row and have never felt the need to look for other hotels in Monterey. It is a great setting and the service is superb. As with other hotels I find that the parking charge is a bit over the top. I would comment that some of the fittings now need to be upgraded - the outside hallway carpets could do with renewing […] and the TV's need to be upgraded to flat screens, but who needs the tv when the view is sensational. Fabulous hotel, no bar or restaurant but did not matter - upon arrival we were upgraded, excellent room with balcony overlooking the bay. At the desk nothing was a problem and they were most helpful in arranging restaurants and tickets for the local aquarium - which is a bonus as your do not need to queue. Ideally situated at the end of Cannery Row, […] not too noisy, but only a 10 mins walk at most for the restaurants, bars and shops. Also if you have a car Peeble Beach and the charming Carmel by the SEa can easily be reached. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before and delivered on a tray at the time you request, the next morning and it's lovely to eat this on the balcony. I chose this hotel for its location after a previous visit to Monterey. I was joining a group gathering and wanted something not too pricey. This was an exceptional value and I would heartily recommend this hotel to visitors. The hotel staff were very friendly, the room was quite comfortable and the view was superb. However, be aware that this is on […] the coast near sea lions. If the wind is blowing the wrong direction, the odor is unpleasant. This is not about this hotel, but about the Monterrey Bay area in general. I heard some other guest's complaints about a smell when I arrived and after I mentioned the source, they felt much better. The room is amazingly beautiful and the bathroom is as big as some other hotel's rooms! The location of the hotel is great, right on the beginning of Cannery Row, on the seafront and you can walk either direction until the pier or the aquarium. You really have to use their jacuzzi located on the roof with the sea and harbourview, amazing! Of course […] it is not cheap but well worth the price. We didn't book a seaview room because of the big price difference with the Canneryrowview room. The view in these rooms is really not so great, mainly a parking building. But you couldn't take the breakfast in the morning on you balcony anyway, cause it was very foggy and rather cold in the morning(August). The breakfast was a bit bizarre, fresh orange juice, coffee, fruit slices, yogurt, hard boiled egg and a huge piece of very heavy cake. We would have prefered a simple toast with jam or a croissant. But it was very nice taking breakfast in your room. We had a nice stay in the Monterrey Bay Inn and highly recommend. 더 보기

No complaints at all. Great view of the beach and bay. We could hear the waves and sea lions all night from our super comfy bed. Every amenity we could have asked for was provided-in room coffee, fridge, binoculars!, real wine glasses, robes, etc. Great location within walking distance of everything. Grab the provided binocs to see where the sea lions […] are! then walk down and check them out. Grab a fresh cookie in the afternoon and head for the rooftop hot tubl. 더 보기

Very friendly staff. The binoculars in each of the rooms are a lot of fun. We could see some seals playing around in the distance. Too bad we couldn't see sea otters this time. Ocean views are best but if you get a good harbor view (the late numbers like 207), you can still see quite well. The hot tub also was a lot of fun for the kids. Great location and value. Service was excellent and friendly, Nice touches like a DVD rental facility and binoculars in the room so you can check out the sealions out in the bay. Would recommend

Wonderful view of marine wildlife. Television outdated. Chairs weren' t comfortable. Rather long walk to Cannery Row.

This was a great place to stay. Definitely pleased with the overall stay. The staff was friendly, and the room was spacious and very nice.

Great hotel and service. Within all the best parts of Monterey, CA. Had a great ocean facing room which is what we select next time we are there. Breakfas was delivered to our room which was great.
