호텔 산타 마리나 (Hotel Santa Marina) - 베니스

내가 이 호텔을 선택하기 앞서 나 보다 먼저 이용한 여행객들이 남긴 후기를 보면서 그래 돈을 좀 더 내더라도 별관에 있는 방 대산 본관에 있는 방을 예약하자 하고 이런 조건으로 CLASSIC ROOM을 예약하고 선지급하였는데 막상 호텔에 도착하여 방을 배정받아 보니 별관 6층 이네. 승강기가 없어 가장 무거운 짐 2개는 벨보이가 들고 그 다음으로 무거운 짐은 내가 들고 계단으로 걸어서. 본관에 있는 방을 예약했는데 계약에 따라 당연히 본관의 방을 배정하지 않고 고의인지 아니면 실수인지 모르겠지만 별관에 있는 방을 배정한 호텔이 잘못인지 아니면 계약과 다르다고 이의를 제기하지 않은 투숙객의 잘못인지 정확하게 판단이 서지 않지만 […] 아쉬운 대목이다. 그리고 4인실로 예약하여 큰 방에 기존 침대 2대외에 작은 침대를 넣고 또 하나의 침대는 소파를 개조하여 침대로 만들어주었는데 이 침대를 부실로 만들어 애가 침대가에 않으니 축 쳐지고 편안하게 잠 잘수가 없었다. 1층 식당에서 무료로 제공한 조식은 예상외로 만족할 만한 수준이었다. 이 호텔에 가장 큰 점수를 주고 싶은 사항은 벨보이의 친절함이었다. 사실 이 호텔이 리알토 다리에서 5분 거리하고 하지만 처음으로 호텔에서 홈피에 올린 지도을 보고 리알토 다리에서 이 호텔을 찾아 오는데 30분 이상 걸렸다. 베네치아 기차 출발 시간이 촉박하여 나도 5분만에 가야 할 상황이 발생하여 벨도이에게 물어 그대로 가니 진짜 5분만에 갈 수 있었다. (사실 홈피에 올린 리얄토 다리에서 이 호텔을 찾는 방법을 좀 더 쉽게 수정해야 함) 내가 언제 다시 베네치아를 찾게 될 지 모르지만 방 배정 문제만큼안 개선해주었으면 한다. 그리고 호텔스.담컴과 비싼 돈을 주고 본관에 있는 방을 이용하기로 계약한 것 같은데 계약 내용과는 달리 호텔에서 상대적으로 저렴한 별관에 있는 방을 배정하여 투숙객은 이용하였는데 이 차액은 부당이익이므로 투숙객에게 반환해야 하지 않아 생객해본다. Exceeded my expectations! Was upgraded to a bigger room for a very low price! Room was right on the canal where you could see gondolas pass by every few min. Made us feel like we were 100% in Italy! Good location. Close to Rialto and withing 15 minute walk to San Marco square. Very close to restaurants and shopping. I was expecting a window in my room considering I paid extra and choosing a room other than the annex room after reading some of the other reviews. Disappointed to not have one. I am an American living in Europe & it does NOT get much better. This hotel is perfect in every aspect! I would recommend it to everyone except those with little ones. The staff is very helpful & kind. Our room was breath taking. One of the largest room I have stayed in in Europe. Bravo to this hotel!

Rated as 4 star but probably would be a 3 star or less in any other city. Pillows were like rocks. Room was very quiet.

Our hotel choice turned out to be a winner!. Easy to find and close to all the sites. The rooms were clean and comfortable. the staff were friendly and happy to help. We thought the hotel was great. The staff were very helpful in so many ways. They had a great breakfast and the hotel was very clean. The only problem was that the beds and bed pillows were very hard making it difficult to get a good night sleep. But I would definitely stay there again because it was outstanding.

What a beautiful gem in the magical city of Venice! Great Location and value for money.

The hotel's location is very good. And clean, but room is a little small if compare other 4 stars. However, I will stay here again if I come again next time.

I recently stayed two nights at Hotel St. Marina. It was a little hard to find at first, but is in fact very conveniently located, a few blocks from Rialto and St. Mark's Plaza. The staff is very competent and helpful, and the rooms nicely furnished and clean. The complementary breakfast was well stocked and provided a great way to start the day.

Great hotel, wonderful staff, great breakfast! Hotel room was too hot, there is no a/c and we had to sleep with the window open- thank goodness it was cool outside.

Like most places in Venice a little difficult to find the first time but overall location is convenient to everything you need. Hotel very nice, rooms small and tight like everything in Venice. Bathroom small but totally remodeled. excellent breakfast Wifi was slower than dial up and only available in lobby.

plus clean and well decorated but narrow room and located in residential area...less traffic when you come back late to hotel...

The conditions in general were very good,the location of room itself left a litle to be desired, down an alley way. The staff was extremely courteous and helpfull. I would not hesitate to return. Just one remark the instructions for finding the hotel could be improved.

In our first visit to Venice, this hotel was a good choice. The location is a 5-6 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge; 12-15 minutes from St Mark Square. The staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms are "European small" but large enough, and clean and comfortable. WiFi is free in the lobby, and internet access via their computer is, too. We were assigned […] a room in the "annex," a building across the (small) Campo Santa Marina, while our friends stayed in the main building. If you choose to use water taxis (expensive), there is a landing right behind the hotel. Vaporetti (water buses) are much more affordable, but you have to walk to the Rialto for the nearest stop. We recommend the multi-day passes if you're going to be there a while and, for a few Euros more, you can include a bus ride to the airport for the end of your stay. The vaporetto pass will get you around central Venice and across the bay to the neighboring islands at no additional cost. Our favorite experiences were the trip to Lido Isle for a morning at the beach, and a late-night vaporetto ride around the Grand Canal. Fair warning: food is costly at the hotel and elsewhere in Venice but breakfast was included in the cost of our room. We booked this room last minute, they gave us an attic room which was actually very spacious. Decor is very outdated but the service is top notch, they helped us with bags since it was in a different building. Very good breakfast as well, location couldn't be beat, not on the water but 5 minute walk to everything!

Conveniently located between Rialto and San Marco. We found the hotel easily enough with use of a map. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was spotless and had everything that we needed. Breakfast was more than enough to see us through until lunch time.

The pictures are deceiving. We booked a room--not realizing that the "annex" was a separate building, not well maintained, the size of a matchbox and covered in mold. I got no refund or credit at this hotel. I had to cancel at the last minute but could not. I ended up going anyway but I have never experienced such a thing. The beds were uncomfortable and I did not sleep well. The breakfast buffet was good, however.

Pretty hotel with a pretty room, but they had no fan or air conditioning, it was hot, and the window opened onto the breakfast room, so the choice was between ventilation and getting woken up by the staff getting breakfast ready at 5AM. The staff was terrific.

Fantastic value with advance prices Great hotel. Very easy to get to and very close to all the best sights. We arrive quite late on a flight to Treviso airport and had a coach journey before the waterbus to Rialto. Located on a quiet, out-of-the-way piazza five minutes from the Rialto and ten from San Marco, the Hotel Santa Marina was a warm and well-appointed retreat on a chilly weekend in January, at a very reasonable price. We asked for accommodations for a family of four, so they put us up in a separate two-story, two-room apartment just around the corner […] from the main building. Our kids loved it. This hotel is within walking distance of all the attractions in Venice. The service received from the staff during our short stay was out of the top drawer.....well done. If you go to Venice, stay at the Hotel Santa Marina........Excellent hotel.........Value for money.........Excellent service.

Wonderful place to stay and a great value. The convenience and quality of the breakfast were a boost. So nice to get up and do breakfast before heading out. Helpful and friendly staff. Appreciated the computer available for general use. Would recommend and stay again.

Our overall experience at the hotel was good. The hotel was in a great location: a relatively quiet square 10 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of Rialto and San Marco. The 'standard' room was on the smaller side but cozy enough. Wonderful hotel! Only problem was with the wireless internet access. If you need this while traveling, make sure to request a room in the main hotel, not an annex. Folks at front desk were very helpful. Found a great restaurant for us that had memorable food (wonderful) and service (entertaining). Room was comfortable. Bed and pillows a little hard, but bed doesnt squeak if you toss and turn. Location was fine, yes, hard to find, but once you do, it's not a problem. My wife and I stayed at the Santa Marina mid October 2010 for two nights and enjoyed our stay. We had read other reviews indicating this to be more of a 3 star hotel labeled as 4 and agree with this conclusion. The accommodations were nice but certainly not 4 star standard. The bed and pillows were firm but acceptable, the bedding average, the room/bathroom […] very, very small. However, it was clean, very nicely appointed and close to the main sites in the city and a good overall value. Breakfast was not great but acceptable; however, there was a coffee/bakery across the piazza that woke us up each morning with some of the most delightful smells! We parked in the Tronchetto parking garage on the island and took a vaporetto (water bus) to the Rialto bridge. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from there there and not too difficult if you have a good map. The San Marco basilica is a 7-10 minute walk from the hotel, and there are markings on the buildings that will guide you. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, quaint hotel that is a good value and is close to key sites in the city but not in the direct middle of the masses. 더 보기

So its not on a canal, but what a fantastic hotel, decor is absolutely beautiful, staff are professional, friendly and service evangelists. Would never consider another hotel if I revisit Venice. It is conveniently situation in a little square not far from Rialta bridge so walking distance to a lot of main attractions.

It's a question every service company faces. A perfectly acceptable experience marred by one random act of rudeness. In our situation it was after asking for a second copy of a complimentary Venice map. Putting that aside, a quaint hotel with a nice breakfast. We had booked one of the annex rooms as we were traveling with our daughter. The annex rooms […] are converted rooms in a building across the alley way. The room itself was huge, though it was a little musty and dark. Good quality shampoo, soap and lotion. The shower pressure was weak though the water was hot. Breakfast was very good and you could sit outside in their covered patio area. Like everything in Venice, it was extremely hard to find the hotel though it's only a 5 minute walk from the Rialto bus stop. So back to the original question - on the last day, I thought I'd lost my glasses. The woman behind the counter was extremely helpful in looking for them in the lobby and breakfast areas, proving that redemption for individual acts of rudeness is in fact possible. 더 보기

We spent three nights at the Santa Marina and found it was a central location to walk to all the main attractions in Venice. The hotel was incredibly difficult to find, as is everything in Venice but we just asked people along the way and we eventually found it. Our hotel room was surpisingly not in the hotel itself, but down the street and around the corner in an apartment. The room was very clean and quiet, the beds very comfortable, and AC worked well. No WiFi though. Bathroom looked like it was just remodeled, and the room felt like a step back in time, very nice condition. We needed 3 keys to enter and […] exit our room. One for the courtyard, one for the apartment, and one for the bedroom. This would be our only complaint. If you're looking for convenience to the airport, this is a great place to stay... without the hassle of dealing with the Venice boats and people. This hotel offers shuttle service to the airport and into Venice - which is very convenient and resonably priced.... also they offer shuttle service into Venice. The staff was really hepfull!! the location is really good because you can walk to cibeles, puerta de alcala, puerta del sol, and also the metro sevilla is in front of the hotel.

The hotel was lovely and the staff attentive and helpful. Getting there was a little challenging, so consider that when packing. But it's no different than getting anywhere else in Venice. Great location between Rialto Bridge and S. Marco Square.

Others have commented on this too and it is true. This hotel was really difficult to find on our own. However, once located, the hotel was wonderful. The front desk is extremely helpful and the morning breakfast was great. Would stay there again but only get their via direct water taxi vs the water bus and trying to walk from Rialto Bridge.
