The staff was helpful during some rather stressful circumstances, and the room was clean and comfortable except for some noises which appeared to be "therapeutic" nature sounds that were actually annoying. Also, be warned it's kind of far from the Quarter and downtown. But for the money, it's a real good value.

You will find some mixed reviews of this hotel online. I found it fine. True, it is in an unlovely part of New Orleans, maybe 5 miles or so from the Quarter. True, it is a RV vehicle park as well as a motel. I didn't expect much for a cheap hotel in New Orleans, but this one managed to disappoint me. We got a smoked-in room instead of the non-smoking one we had reserved, the carpet and bedspread were stained and torn, the sheets so threadbare I was afraid I'd tear them when I tugged on them, and the front desk staff was surly. It was nice. The front desk was very friendly and helpful, I liked that we had a fridge and a microwave in our room, and I liked that the parking was gated. An interesting side note, we had a backlight in our room and stars were drawn (in glow in the dark ink) on the ceiling. not a good area for children, doors were noisy, restrooms wrere flushing good.

Hookers loitering in front of hotel. Could not use any of the blankets because of unidentified spots, stains, residue, and hairs. Only had two tiny towels, and one wash cloth. Asked for another washcloth and was informed they didn't have anymore clean, that they were in the wash.

The hotel is a bit dated, but the service was outstanding. Took less than 10 min to get to French Qtr. Price is excellent - we weren't looking for a 5 star. It was very clean. I'd stay there again. We were on the second floor (there are only 2) and had to carry our luggage up stairs. My BF and I enjoyed it and he carried the bags so I'll keep him.

It is okay for the price and location. Bathroom was not so clean, but not too bad for this price. The hotel has gate so I felt safe at night. The hotel front desk staffs were very nice. Even though the hotel is located behind a gated wall it was clean and comfortable. I liked the fact there is a convenience store next door and open till 2 am . This was the most ghetto hotel I have ever seen, its right in the hood and it was extremely dirty, inside and out!

it was quiet and handy having a convient store on the property open until late.

Horrible stay!

The hotel was iffy on the outside, but once inside the room your opinion gets better. It had lots of features and comforts that were not expecteds for the price I paid. Free wi-fi, micromave and fridge, DVD player and free DVD rentals. We had a local warn us about staying at any place on Chef Menteur Hwy. We should have listened; however, we instead spoke with the hotel desk clerk who convinced us that it was safe as they had a gate that closed at 9:30pm. This gate never closed. The hotel Red Carpet was in a very bad location, east side of New Orlenas. Hookers in front of the hotel day and night. Not a safe place to stay. No pool, no internet and the continental breakfast terrible one. The manager was polite and helpful.

Its a great location. you are 15 minutes from downtown...20 to the airport. It was too out of the way. We flew in the day before a cruise. I thought it was closer to the terminal. The hotel was very clean but not a nice area. They kept my drivers license and credit card and forgot to give it back to me when we left. If you are just planning to go to New Orleans to have a good time in the French Quarter and not spend time enjoying hotel luxuries...then it is ok for that. The motel was clean but we had to BEG for items that should have come standard. They do have a security gate but please watch your back outside of the gate...it's not a good neighborhood.

I was extremely surprised and satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The reviews that I read prior to my stay were not so complimentary, but I found most of those negative comments without merit. The location of this hotel is prefect. We were about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown and about 20 minutes form the airport. Its located right off of the interstate. The hotel display on Hotels.com shows pictures of an outdoor pool, which doesn't exist! the person at the front desk said it was 'under construction'!!! since I was traveling w/my sons, I expected to find a pool. The tub had a bug, and when I opened the faucet at the sink, there were like a hundred ants coming down with the water! there were very small […] ants along the edge of the mirror... The neighborhood is very poor, lonely and seems unsafe to walk alone there... there's nothing to do nearby. this hotel was horrible to stay at. If it wasnt the front desk who didnt help you the hookers will run you out. Don't stay at this hotel unless you want to lose sleep worring that you might get shot or mugged!!!! As for the rest this hotel is actually used for pimps and their hookers to do business at.

We loved the location of the hotel because it was only ten miles from down town. It was nicer than all of my friends' hotels downtown new Orleans, cleaner and quieter. Definitely recommend for future trips!!

The guy that checked us in and was there every morning, he was great. Gave us good directions and recommendations. We didnt spend much time at the hotel. It was clean and comfortable.

This hotel was not the most conveniently located. it was easy to find but it was a bus and tram car journey into the French Quarter. Would suggest only booking here if you are willing to drive into the tourist sections. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly.

First of all: The information that this motel/RV campground (!!) has a pool is wrong! What's left is a pile of gravel. The neighbourhood is not good as well although the area is covered with a fence. There was no toilet paper, the surfaces of the table and dresser were greasy and the staff was not friendly, too. I recently stayed a night at this hotel and the service was horrible. The hotel is located in a dubious neighborhood next to a Motel and behind a gas station. My party and I took a nap upon arrival when I heard a knock at the door. The housekeeper was asking about towels, have we any? I answered yes since I believed we did. This hotel delivers for the price that it charges. It is not too far from the French Quarter (5 miles). The room was clean but smelled like some people had been smoking in it. The neighborhood is not great but the hotel has a security gate.

It just smell kind of bad like cigarettes with other STUFF!!! But i guess for the price u can't really Ask for more.

It was dirty and guys in the next room were really lound the hole night! I can just give the recomondation to choose an other motel!

Not the best part of town. The room had "interesting" painting on the walls. There were stars painted on the ceiling that glowed in the dark. Not the best place to stay, especially since the hotel is shared with an RV park. I would not stay there again.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place was crawling with hookers, drug users/ dealers, and other unsavory characters. The sounding area just screams that you are going to get robbed. Also this hotel is an RV park too (that was not in the title or the description when I booked a room here). The walls are paper thin; so, when your neighbor decides to freak out […] on their boyfriend not only will you hear the door slam (multiple times) you will hear there argument and things getting thrown around. So not only will you hear all that you will hear the drug dealers and their customers during their exchange. You will also hear the hookers making their money too.
