The TRYP Madrid Menfis Hotel is a lovely hotel in an excellent location and staff are very helpful. My only criticism would be that the noise from the road is very loud, glazing could do with upgrading to combat this problem.

Within brief walk to imporant sites in Madrid and great view of Gran Via avenue.

The hotel has an excelllent location close to the major points of interest for first time visitors, if you like to walk, is withing walking distance from Royal Palace, Templo de Debod, Plaza Mayor, Chueca, Puerta del sol and if you really like to walk you can enjoy the maginificent architecture of gran via up to the Cibeles then Parque del Retiro, lots […] of walk but the best way to enjoy the city, highly recommend this hotel... 더 보기

We were very pleased with our choice. It was our first hotel upon arriving in Spain and when we walked in...we just jumped with delight... It's a lovely hotel. we got there before nine in the morning....rather tired ...anxious about being allowed in the room... dealing with a foreign language...and we really needed to rest. They checked us in as though […] nothing of it and spoke English. the hotel is close to the metro and walkable tothe Royal Palace and that tourist area. This would be a great hotel at any price, but it was a steal for what I paid. Hotel is very nice and the location is good...right next to Plaza Espana and an easy walk to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. My room was on the ninth floor and had a balcony. No complaints...I would gladly stay here again.

When we booked this hotel we were supposed to have a room with a double bed with a nice view to the gardens. Unfortunatelly upon arrival they made us wait because our room was not ready and the room we wanted (paid for) had 2 single beds. Very upsetting. We ended up taking the first thing available, which was okay, with views to the street :(

we ll come back and stay at this hotel again . compared to the hotel at la ramblas , very noisy ....u cant sleep at all . just a few minute ride u can reach la ramblas . if you want to take the hop on & off bus , there is a stop near the hotel .you can check with the hotel staf , they are very helpful

Hotel was OK, although location not great - a bit seedy and too far from the cool tapas bars etc. Also a bit noisy. The main complaint though was that we asked about trains to Toledo and were told they go every 10-15 mins - NOT TRUE. We showed up at the stn and the next one wasn't for 2 hours. Good hotel, good location, clean rooms but the bed could be a little better, sometimes it looks too soft.

You cannot get a better location as it is most central and everything (all the attractions) is within walking distance so you even save on your metro travels. Restaurants are plentiful in the area and almost on your doorstep. Hotel a bit old but its probably the best in the surrounding area. Great Hotel, Excellent location, Quiet, Ft Desk a little cold and WIFI surcharge (would think in 2011 would be free as at McDonalds)

Good hotel in a great position. Room was small and dark.

Hotel Tryp Menfis was more than we expected. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a bigger room which had a flat screen tv, a huge balcony over looking Gran Via, and a huge king sized bed! The room was very clean! The breakfast was awesome too! The breakfast was delicicous and had more selection than any of the other hotels we had had on our vacation […] in Europe. The location was perfect; the hotel was walking distance from major sites, shopping, and restaurants. When we went the Pope was visiting Madrid, and we were able to take a short walk to go see him! This was a great hotel with a perfect location . It was right at the bottom of the gran via 100yards from the plaza de espana subway system (the easiest subway system in the world) . Approx 20min walk to puerta del sol . Would definitely reccommend this hotel and city .

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The A/C cooling could have been more effective

Reviews were mixed for this hotel, but took a chance for 3 nights in July 2011 due to great priced summer sale. Glad we did. There was no construction, so they must have finished with renovating the lobby. We booked a standard room for 2 people. It's our first time in Madrid, so we thought best to stay in the more "touristy" area where there are more […] people & close to metro as we knew nothing about the neighborhoods in Madrid. Plaza Espana, a big and major metro stop in Madrid is 1 block from the hotel if you follow directions in the metro for Gran Via exit. Otherwise you will be at the further exit, which I made the mistake of doing and found myself lost and further away. Also very easy from the airport since it's only 1 transfer on the metro 10 to Plaza Espana. Gran Via isn't anything like Time Square or even Las Ramblas in Barcelona. It's not that crowded, even in mid-July if that's your concern. The room was long and huge by European standards, although the bathroom was quite small -- no tub, standing shower only, no room for a bidet, dental kit/shaving kit/shoe shine extras in the bathroom, hair dryer available too. We had no view except a view of the other windowed rooms. We didn't use any hotel services so we can't comment on that. They have a 24 hour gym for use which my friend took advantage of. There's also no free wi-fi service, but if you have a mobile and ride the bus, it's free there or at any of the "wi-fi gratis" logo areas all over madrid. Or if you walk to McDonald's a few blocks on Gran Via, there's free wi-fi inside. Another great location perk is if you walk around the corner, behind the hotel, there is a "Mercado". Big grocery store where you can get fruits/veggies etc. We stocked up on that for our snack as Spain is a pretty heavy fried food country. We got french fries with practically every meal! Good location, not so friendly staff

So much to do in Madrid so didn't spend that much time in the hotel. However, the time I did spend there was a pleasure. The room was well sized, very clean and had a good room service selection. Located on the Gran Via, the hotel is in an ideal location. Definitely recommended.

Hotel is in a good location. Lots of options to eat and drink. Theatres near by. Easy walk to lots of attractions. Easy journey from and to the Airport. Only problem was parking. Hotel does not have parking. But overall a nice stay for the price I paid. ALthough we asked for a double bed in room but we were given twin beds. WOuld not mind staying there […] again 더 보기

This was a perfect location - everything we wanted to see and experience was within easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was exactly as promised. It was large, clean, comfortable and had an awesome view of the Gran Via from the balcony.

they've just finished remodeling and upgrading the hotel; quite modern and clean. Pleasant staff. Breakfast is too expensive even with a "deal" at 9 euros per person. Plenty of good breakfast cafes in the neighbourhood

The hotel location is exceptional. one block away from metro with excellent connection to the airport via metro for 2 euros per person and only 30 minutes. Metro not recommend for persons with disabilities. Hotel is very clean with large well appointed rooms, though the flat screen TV only had 3 channels that functioned, the rest being wither blocked […] or having no signal. Excellent value considering the comfort and price paid. Breakfast can be had at Starbucks across the street or one of the many restaurants near by for less and better than what is offered at the hotel. Hotel service was excellent though we did not need much assistance. An interactive kiosk in the lobby provides excellent information for visitors, on attractions, museums, restaurants, etc. Wifi available only in lobby and business center and some rooms on second floor but it is not free. Go to Starbucks buy a coffee and get 45 minutes of free WiFi. The area of the hotel is safe and easy walking distance to Sol, Plaza Maior and the Royal Palace and Cathedral as well as the Descalzas museum. Good Metro connections to all other attractions. arrived friday night,standing outside the hotel at 1.30am i was mugged.iphone4 snatched out of my hand. the hotel itself is very quiet,never a bad thing. the room was nice and spacious although there was a hole in the wooden flooring over my side of the bed. bathroom and shower were lovely. NO FREE WIFI IN THIS HOTEL,MAJOR DOWNSIDE. if it had free wifi […] i wouldnt have had my iphone outside the hotel. must point out,after getting police reports etc complied for my phone insurance the hotel were more than helpful sending faxes for me. i wasnt charged for the faxes or for the calls made from my room to my phone company. breakfast was a little expensive at €15 each but its much cheaper if you commit to paying for breakfast at check-in. We encountered VERY FEW people working in the hotel with English & to be honest as a whole in Madrid very few people are willing to/cant speak English to you. 더 보기

This hotel was in a great location near Plaza de Espana and the Royal Palace. The metro was two blocks away or so. There are tons of places to eat near by and the neighborhood is good and it appeared safe. The room was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The room was medium sized with a medium sized bathroom as well. The staff was polite and provided […] you assistance whenever needed. No one will help you with your luggage as they do not have bell hops and it could get rough going up the few steps in the lobby if you have heavy suitcases. Overall, we felt we made a great choice with this hotel without spending a lot of money. It wasn't super luxurious but it was comfortable and it had everything a couple seeking a nice stay could want. 더 보기

complessivamente buono, grande e comoda camera family ,affacciata sulla Gran via ( rumorori di traffico e sirene la notte), letti un po' duri ,bene bagno , ottima e varia colazione a buffet , fermata metro a 10 metri , in centro (Puerta del Sol ) in meno di 10 minuti a piedi.WiFi solo nella Hall ed al piano colazione internet con cavo in camera

Otimo hotel, instalacões novas, quarto amplo, excelente café da manhã, localizacão perfeita. É tudo o que se quer de um hotel.

Excelente escolha. Bons serviços, bom café da manhã, preço justo. Localização excelente! Próximo de tudo com metro na porta. Nos hospedamos em quarto para família com cama de casal e beliche. Quarto com sacada, ótimas acomodações e ótimo banheiro. Recomendo!!

Het hotel ligt dicht bij alle bezienswaardigheden in Madrid. Ook de metro is heel dicht bij, ik denk een meter of twintig. De service was goed en de kamer erg comfortabel. De kamer en badkamer waren niet heel groot maar dat vonden we niet zo erg. Het bed ligt lekker en de douche is heerlijk! Van het ontbijt hebben we geen gebruik gemaakt.

Das Zimmer war sauber. Fenster zum Innenhof - dadurch kein Lärm. Das Hotel liegt direkt bei der U-Bahnstation "Plaza de Espana". Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit. Keine Bewertung des Frühstücks, da es beim Zimmerpreis nicht inkludiert war.

encima de no tener servicio de habitaciones, ni cafeteria en el hotel, tiene un minibar ridiculo. Parece mentira que un hotel de 4 estrellas en el centro de Madrid, deje tanto que desear, por supuesto yo no volvere.

Vi havde tre dejlige overnatninger og var meget imponerede over bdåe værelsets størrelse og standard. Et stille og roligt hotel trods den centrale beliggenhed - og meget tæt på metroen, hvilkte vi synes er rart. En fin morgensmadsbuffet - absolut anbefalelsesværdigt.

Ok standard hotell in the middle of Gran Via. Good service and clean rooms. A little bit noisy cuz of the cars, but close to food, bars and shopping.

Hotel mto bem localizado, moderno, limpo,organizado c/ recepcao prestativa. So falta a internet gratuita estar incluida nos servicos oferecidos.

Me ha encantado la tranquilidad que se respira en el hotel, en plena Gran Via de Madrid, después de un intenso día de visitas.
