I am an admitted clean freak, and my family aren't exactly easy to please. I booked this hotel as the last resort at the last minute and was prepared for a uncomfortable night's stay. Totally the opposite! Utterly clean and well polished hotel, rooms, beds, bathrooms. Very comfortable. We stayed in the double queen deluxe suite which was very comfortable […] for 3 adults + 2 kids (one in a bassinet). The continental breakfast was pretty good too. (The coffee sucked though. ) Only real complaint was a thermostat that came off on touching, and though I got it to work after plugging it back in, gave me some anxiety about the heater kicking in. Are overall stay was good, the hotel was close the the sights my wife and I wanted to see and the the employees were very courteous. There were a couple of things that need some attention before we return to a Holiday Inn Express. 1.The room we had was next to a stair way, kids were running up and down until 11-12 o'clock at night. 2. This was a TERRIBLE experience. This hotel was way over priced and had terrible customer service. When we arrived there were signs in each parking stall, Not Responsible for theft or damage to your vehicle. For the amount we paid (they will not let me post what we paid and I it was a lot by any standard, I believe) they should maybe hire some security. […] Obviously we were concerned. We were on the bottom floor, non smoking and we could smell smoke throughout our evening. I requested 2 pillows from the front desk at 7:00 pm. The gal told me if I wanted them I could come and get them, I was in pajamas. I went to retrieve them and told her how disappointed I was that she could not have someone bring me the pillows and she said she was there alone and she was RUDE about it. For the amount we paid maybe they should hire one extra person to assist. It was not like it was midnight, it was 7pm! Then at 1:00am there were people running up and down the hall cursing and screaming. We knew better than to call the front desk because we knew SHE WAS THERE ALONE. Also when we checked in at 3pm there was no one to help us with our luggage. Again maybe they could hire extra help. One more item, When I turned the AC on the air/filter was so bad my sinuses filled up and I could not breath. Maybe they could change the filter. As soon as we walked in the lobby, we knew it was a clean place. You could smell cleaner. Our room was also clean. The room is average size. We stayed in a room that overlooked the park and a pond. It was nice to look out the window at the birds going to the pond. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and the tv was older, but with the price and hotel cleanliness, […] it wasn't that bad. The breakfast included pancakes, sausage, eggs, bagels, bread for toast, mini muffins, yogurt, assorted juices, and cereal. The Holiday Inn Express in Marina CA, for a high price for one night, we were put in a basement (lobby is on the 1st floor) room that had almost no light through the window that looked out on nothing but ground cover rocks and a wall. The beds were not comfortable, the sheets were cheap and limp, and the room is next to the hot tub which supposedly […] closes at 10 p.m. but I had to call the desk and ask them to evict the party still going strong at 11:15p.m. (the noise echoed into our room). Breakfast was just ok. There is nothing near the hotel and it's a fair distance to Monterey. This was not a good stay. 더 보기

This is a good value hotel with free breakfast and is well situated for visiting Monterey, Carmel etc. There is a Dennys within walking distance and also a petrol station nearby. The one thing we didn't anticipate in August is the amount of fog (mist) - just be careful driving, particularly at night, if you do get the fog.

This hotel is not particularly close to anything (except the Wal-Mart next door), but it provides very easy access by car to CSU Monterey Bay, Monterey, or Salinas. There are some decent restaurants in commercial Marina, just a short drive away, so the lack of a restaurant is not a big issue. I have stayed at the hotel several times on business, and […] it is run very efficiently. No complaints about the rooms, which are quite spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is included and is edible but nothing great. The pool is more of a wading area--I haven't tried it but I do see families hanging out there. Wet carpet, unsecured exterior door and rogue teenagers in the spa made this a disappointing stay.

We really like this hotel and have stayed here before . The only slight problem we had this time was luke warm water for the shower about 10:00 in the morning. The staff offered compensation for this problem and apoligized.

The first issue with the room was a massive water leak coming from the a/c unit. The carpeting on the far side of our room was soaked. We reported it to the front desk but they didn't seem to care. The second issue was the numerous bedbug bites all over my husband and myself when we woke in the morning. Not a pleasant experience...

Once again, although the room was nice, they put me in a location on the street side with a lot of street noise. It seems that they put Hotel.com guests in not the most desireable locations of the hotel.

It was a short stay only one night but the bed was so comfortable, and the room was very clean. I didn't have to use any of the usual cleaning supplies I always bring with me when I stay in a Hotel. Great, Thanks

I had trouble with my booking.. I thought it was a little sneaky. However the hotel it's self was very nice. Our rooms (2) were King Junior Suites (there were 5 of us) The rooms were spacious with plenty of seating and sleeping arrangements. The only down factor was they have no on-sight eating facility. Just a few snack & beverage vending machines. […] They did serve a VERY NICE breakfast and the employees throughout were nice and very helpful. We normally stay at Holiday Inn Express Seaside, and it is better situated for anything in the area. The one in Marina is fine, but too far from anything and a little expensive if you are only staying one night. On the plus side it was clean and well kept up. On the negative side, old TV (Seaside has flat screens).

I booked this hotel and specifically chose rooms with 2 beds. When I arrived, the hotel had changed my booking without my knowledge to 1 bed in each room. They were unable to give me a room with 2 beds because they were booked for the weekend, so we had to squeeze 4 people into 1 bed before a marathon! I also specifically picked this hotel for the jacuzzi. […] When we arrived, there was a paper sign tucked in the corner stating that the jacuzzi was closed. I was never informed about this until I happened to see the sign. The hotel is also completely overpriced considering the tacky decorations and the aged look of the hotel. Stay away! 더 보기

1. Jacuzzi: was broken and we can not use it. 2. Very thin wall: As we can hear another people in another room laughing and joking around all night long. 3. Termiate problem: Spider was discovery crawling on and inside of dresser. we had to double check all of our suitcase to be sure it didn't crawl into inside of our suitcases. 4. Nice clean hotel and room. Not the best location.

The Holiday Inn Express for Marina on Seaside Avenue, Ca 20 minutes away from Monterey Bay had great customer sevice but could work on cleanliness. When I first entered the room the phone was wet meaning that water was where it was held by the phone. I also took a look at curtains and there was a booger on it! Little things like that matter! Also the […] after the room service cleaned up my room they put on a new set of bed sheet. Little did they know that there were dried up blood stains on it. Hotel location great for the state beach, close drive to aquarium. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast, although edible, left much to be desired.

Everything was great except for the breakfast. My husband was in Chino Hills at a Holiday Inn Express and listed the breakfast he was enjoying (biscuits and gravy, scrambles eggs, sausage patties etc..) and the swiftness in which they were refilled. Rooms were clean and quiet and beds were comfy. What more could you want?!

Second day we went back hotel at 3:25pm and my mom wanted to take a nap,but the room was extramly mass. Nobody cleaned the room but the tips were taken. We had to request to clean the room and we had to stay in the Car. This is the first bad experience we have ever had. The Hotel used the ATT Golf at Pebble Beach as the reason to raise the price. (The course is 15 miles away)

Better than expected 1-nite stay. Close to Hwy-1. Close to Monterey & Moss Landing. Nice very comfortable beds.

This hotel was very easy to find, and very close to the freeway as well as stores, so thats ALWAYS a plus. The staff was very welcoming upon arrival. Our room was very clean, the only weird thing was is that they gave me a Handicapped room when I didn't ask for it so a few things were there that I didn't need, but overall the room was very clean. Excellent Hotel....

For the price, it is a good deal. Room is clean, and breakfast is reasonable, It has a big indoor SPA and fitness room. It has no swimming pool

The thing that bothered me was the fact that as usual hotels.com gets the lousy rooms, we were located in the underground floor, we could see only a big wall outside our room and there was a noise of the spa pool or something like that, we could hear a water machine running. We've stayed at this hotel twice and would definitely stay again. It's a 10-15 minute drive to Monterey and Carmel and 10 minute walk to the beach. Quite close to the freeway but no freeway noise. Nice pond area across the street for running or walking. Also just a much better hotel than the Holiday Inn Express just down the road in Seaside. The breakfast […] is decent, including both hot foods, delicious warm cinnamon rolls, cereals, milk, and fruit. I did miss make-your-own waffles, but the other items were fine and plentiful. The hotel is very convenient to Fishermans Wharf. There is a lot of activity in this part of town. It's a short trolley ride to the Ferry Building. It's also walkable in 20 - 25 minutes. The hotel met all of our needs.

It's not near Monterey, but rather a 15 minute drive from where we wanted to be. Overall though, Shonelle at the front took care of us and upgraded our room since the one we booked was unavailable. Breakfast was good, not terrific, but decent! Quite a variety!
