We thought the hotel was great. It is really convenient for the boardwalk and downtown. The room was very spacious and clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was basic but fine and most importantly free! The couple running the hotel were lovely and very helpful. Overall we were very happy.

Beds were super comfy and rooms very new and nice.

Stayed two nights. Room was clean, and staff were friendly. Free breakfast, although limited. Free wireless and parking. Good location near boardwalk. Nice amenities include microwave, small refrigerator, coffee pot and flatscreen TV. Only negative is needing to put up with a bit of street noise.

Good place to stay if u do choose to stay here look into the rooms that have a jacuzzi. Wasn't able to get one but would have been nice

Very friendly staff and comfy, spacious room. Much bettter than what expected from the pictures. 2 min walk to the amusement part and the broadway and 10 min walk to downtown.

Great if your are just lookin for a place to rest your head at night & store your belongings while you play on the boardwalk or get some great food on the peer or downtown Santa Cruz. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THE HOTEL IS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM THE BOARDWALK. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ROOM OTHER THAN WE WISHED WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER. THANK YOU SUPER EIGHT!

I had mixed feelings about this hotel. The location, price and friendliness of the clerk were fantastic. The room as well was updated in terms of decor. The reason however I gave this hotel a 2 star was because of 3 things. First, the bathroom counter had a coffee stain on it. This was easily wiped off with a towel but wa obvious the counter was not […] cleaned after the last guest. Second, the towel I used to clean te counter had a big black hair in/on it. This grosse me out. What es worse was thr the next two towels I grabbed ha hairs on them as well. This is pretty much unacceptable even for minimal cleanliness standards. An easy walk to the boardwalk, wharf, and downtown makes this an ideal location. It is not fancy but is very confortable. Big TV, good bed, and spacious room made my stay very enjoyable. The owner is very knowledgeable of the are and eager to make your stay as good as possible. I will come back here again.

The staff were fabulous, informative and very nice. The room was clean and quiet. Parking was ample, etc. However, the breakfast could have been improved with fresh fruits and a few more healthy choices. Location is good if one is looking for budget stay near the beach. Overall.. good hotel for the money, I would stay there again.

We stayed here for one night and we really have to mention the staff. The lady was very very nice and helpful. Even the breakfast was a little more continental than what we experienced before. The room was nice, just the bathroom a little small. The surrounding is not that great, but Santa CRuz in general lost its charm.

bed was very comfortable, room was clean, eat breakfast somewhere else, hard to get in and out of parking lot, but overall stay was good for the money.

Good value for money. Front desk staff/management were really helpful with lots of recommendations of what to do in the area. Very convenient location. Clause to the beach front & restaurants. The continental breakfast included in the price could offer a better choice of food.

This motel was just a few blocks from the boardwalk. Very easy walk. The room was nice. Parking was a little tight-not too many spaces. It was a last minute booking for us but we'd stay there again.

For a Motel8 I thought this place was terribly overpriced. The hotel itself was nothing more than a two-story block of rooms overlooking a dingy/dirty looking pool and the avenue in front. The first room we were assigned smelled heavily of stale smoke, despite the no-smoking sign posted outside. We were given another room which, while it didn't smell […] of smoke, smelled of stale fried food, but we were just there for a night so didn't complain any further. The hotel room was a bit dark but it wasn't totally inadequate. The beds were definitely the best part, very comfy and soft with many extra pillows. Super 8 Motel is a nice budget option when staying in Santa Cruz. The motel is very close to the boardwalk, management is very friendly and the rooms are clean. Breakfast included.

the people that work the front desk i believe they are married are very nice. the room was clean. very close to the beach

The hotel is perfect for people on a budget looking to be near the beach and Boardwalk. Even with small children, the Boardwalk is within walking distance. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about area attractions. Really enjoyed the one night at this hotel, it is about a 3 min walk to the boardwalk since its about 2 1/2 blocks down the street. The parking might be a little hard when it gets later in the day since there isn't much to offer. The room was nice and clean and comfy. We stayed here because of the easy walk to the Boardwalk. The location is excellent for that. The room is fine for the price, though the beds are a bit soft. Having a little pool was nice for the kids.

Super 8 was a good choice for our visit to the boardwalk. Nice rooms, helpful staff and great location.

Ok, to start, make sure your driving a small car or SUV. I have a big crew cab truck, parking is cramped, but we did it. Unloaded before parking so as not to ding other guests vehicles. The best part, 8 minute walk to the Boardwalk, never had to drive anywhere. Good restaurants all around. Or you go down to the corner store on OTHER side of street , […] (better selections) 1 block and get some TV dinners and snacks. Microwave and refer in the room makes this a great option. Room was nice with what appears to be recent paint and upgrades. Shower was a little narrow if your on the big side. Breakfast was basic with packaged pastries and hot and cold cereals. OJ, coffee and flavored creamers were a nice treat. Unfortunately for me anyway the pool is not heated until Memorial Day, but it didn't stop my wife and daughter from enjoying it. For me, this was my Senior Birthday weekend. The best I've ever had. With the beach so close any early morning walk on beach is the best thing for you. Had a great visit nice room ,nice people, close to boardwalk. We Want to go back again. Nice and affordable!!

We were fairly happy with our short stay. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was surprisingly quiet despite being located near two busy streets. It was a very easy walk to the Boardwalk. The kids were disappointed that the pool wasn't heated. The breakfast was very basic, juice, toast, cereal, which was fine but there is no dining […] area so you had to take stuff on paper plates back to your room. I would hope they could come up with a "greener" way to deal with breakfast. The people at the front desk were very nice and helpful. As motels go, this is a decent one. 더 보기

Don't confuse this motel with the one opposite - also a Super 8 motel !!! The Santa Cruz Super 8 Beach Boardwalk is on the left side of the road facing the ocean, the one on the opposite side of the road is managed by different people and from the poutside would not seem to have the same facilities. The management were lovely! Very friendly and helpful […] and allowed us to check in at least 3 hours early (which had not been the case in other hotels). The manageress gave us a local street map and recommended some nice walks to local attractions (lighthouse, marina etc) along with useful information about bars and restaurants. There was a small pool that was in a lovely sun trap, but being early April we were not able to use it as the weather wasn't warm enough. Whilst this was a basic looking motel from the outside, the roms were large and very well serviced. There was also plenty of parking. There was a complimentary continetal breakfast which was adequate - plenty of coffee ! The only downside was that the walls were fairly thin and you could hear the conversations from next door, luckily we had courteous neighbours so it wasn't a problem. If you want to be close to the ocean and all the facilities on the seafront, this is an excellent choice of motel for a couple of nights. Have stayed at nicer motels in the area but at 30-50% more cost. Managers/owners were pleasant and accomodating. It's 2 blocks from Boardwalk. My son at UCSC was happy to get away from campus and we could walk 20 mins or drive 5 mins to downtown. Had to fix a running toilet but the rooms were extreemly clean and kept up well. I might not want to stay […] in room if I were in it a week, but if only to sleep it was quiet and peaceful. It is near a lot of motels. THE ACCOMODATIONS WERE 3 STAR, location 4 star, service 5 star. Continental breakfast also adequate. The room cost for the weekend was still quite good....so 3.5-4 star given all things concerned. The ratings made this place look way better than it really was. I was disappointed even though it was adequate.

Small room and not a nice room for the amount of money to stay one night. Room wasn't very clean at all. Bathtub DID NOT hold water. No hot water. Warm water at best. Parking was a pain in itself. Had to hold the handle down on the toilet for it to flush. Things in the room were falling apart. Things that have been torn off the wall and put back on […] was done horribly. The television was blurry and couldn't see it. The heater in the room did not work. The hotel is in a bad neighborhood. I DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Manager allowed us to check in an hour early, which we really appreciated. They are located just down the street from the Boardwalk. The facilities are older and one of the windows did not close properly. Breakfast consists of cereal, prepackaged pastries, and juice. Certainly not a luxury hotel, but great location, great price, and great service.

The owners were extremely thoughtful in putting my family in adjoining rooms and to suggest points of interest and restaurants. The beds were the largest queens I've ever seen and extremely comfortable. The only downside was that we were on the 1st floor, next to a semi-busy intersection but we all got good sleep regardless! This place is equally close […] to the Fisherman's Wharf and downtown. We drove but saw people walking to both destinations from our area. The hotel is older but the owners have made efforts to keep it nice. The room and beds were nicer than I expected. It's a great location, close to the boardwalk but still quiet. The office staff was very nice and helpful.

We will stay here again, very friendly manager on premise upon check in. Very clean, however older hotel, but most adequate for our needs.Walking distance to boardwalk and pier. No elevator, so they gave me a ground floor for no extra charge.

perfect location a few minutes walk from the beach and boardwalk, this motel was just perfect. Clean large room with all the amenities. Great quick free wifi. And the most friendly and helpful owners and staff we met on our entire USA holiday.

Everything was just fine in the room. It was nicely furnished and appointed, in good working condition, and pretty clean. Parking spaces were pretty limited, and the parking area behind the motel seemed a little insecure because it was basically in an alley, but I didn't have any problems. The location is just 3 blocks from the boardwalk, but if you want to visit the shops and restaurants on the wharf, you need to drive. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel. The room was much larger than I had expected and it had a new flat screen TV mounted to the wall. The check in was fast, efficient and accurate and the staff was friendly and helpful.
