We stayed at the L.A. Sky Boutique Hotel for 3 days and overall were very satisfied with our stay. While some prior comments I read stated they didn't care for the hotel due to "lack of nightlife", we found that to be an asset, for you didn't have to deal with a bunch of drunk and disorderly people out front of he hotel. Our room was very clean and […] nicely appointed for the price. The staff was friendly, pleasant and professional. The only two negatives were our TV and/or remote didn't function well, and the parking one night was tight due to more cars than spaces. But the staff handled the parking situation well. The TV never really for fixed. But over all, we would definitely stay there again! 더 보기

A little shabby all ways around. Tried to capture a quaint, modern feel but felt a little half done. Room good size but not particularly clean. Worst feature is that it is essentially a courtyard walk up motel that has been covered with a roof. Hotel just perfect for family get-together. Courtyard was perfect.

I love everything about the hotel- coffee and tea always hot in the lobby, clean bed and huge shower! The carpet was old and I thought it could use updating but other than that friendly service overall!

Rooms look recently redone but there was a hal-empty bottle of Jack Daniels left on the armoire... An amenity perhaps? The rooms open onto a faux outdoor courtyard with fake plants & bumpy tile floors so that every rollerbag and housekeeping trolley makes a terrible racket. It's LA so guess you should be more concerned about AC than heat, but it was […] chiily at night and room thermostat is AC only! There's a space heater in the corner if you need to warm up, it's like you're staying in someone's basement and being charged for a hotel experience. Free wi-fi was appreciated. 더 보기

This was an old L.A. apartment building. All rooms enter from a common couryard. The sounds of people talking in the couryard and the sounds of high heels crossing the courtyard were easily heard from within my room. Free breakfast was offered but that service did not start until 7:30 a.m. - too late for me to enjoy. The check in clerk was efficient […] and as cold as a fish. 더 보기

I stayed here for just over a week on business, working somewhat near by... First of all, the hotel is just a revamped crappy motel near some other crappy motels on a busy street. It has a boutique "feel" but it comes off as very cheap and fake, boutique doesn't mean nice. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig. Second of all... BE AWARE OF THEIR CANCELLATION […] POLICY. After midnight on the first day of your reservation, you cannot be refunded for any part of your stay if you choose to change reservations. All the lighting (at least in my room with no windows to the outside at all) is all bright white CFL. It's that unnatural style bright-white that made the room feel even more fake. The walls are very thin, I'm not a light sleeper and was kept up several times by people watching TV, talking on the phone, or people in the morning being loud at the "breakfast" they offer. It seems like the front desk person was always watching TV at night. The "courtyard" of the old motel was boarded over so it's enclosed (the bottom layer being a fake ceiling of some type of cloth). This means most of the rooms get zero natural light (only two rooms had windows that I could see from the outside), even if you wanted to open your window to the enclosed atrium type thing with fake flowers and people walking by, you'd just get more fake lighting. There seems to be always people coming and going in the early morning and at night, yet the hotel has only about 20 rooms. The TV was pretty nice, but took forever to change channels, and no guide was available. Only Basic cable. Also, a very bright lit-up logo at all times, even when the TV was off. The heater (when you need it) is a portable floor heater which (in my case) fell off it's base every time you picked it up. One evening I came back to an unlocked, barely closed door. Luckily my items were still in my room, but that is unacceptable to leave a door not closed. Upon checkout, nobody asked how my stay was, only talked about how I wo 더 보기

Friendly staff, very helpful, nice rooms, a lot more than I was expecting for the price.

The hotel was clean and the decor was nice. The staff were very nice as well. My room was nicely furnished, clean, the bed was comfortable. I stayed on a Thursday night and didn't hear noise outside the room, but can see how it would be noisy if it's a Friday night and people are hanging out in the courtyard. The parking lot is insanely tight. I have […] no idea how a person with a big vehicle manages to even get in and out. If you're coming to LA and just looking for a clean, safe, comfortable place to sleep, then this is it. I was in LA on business for one night and it was perfect for me. Price was right and yes, parking is $15 but all the other hotels charge $30. If you're looking for a resort type stay - pool, spa, etc - then this isn't for you. 더 보기

Needed to be at an early meeting in Century City and wasn't about to trust the 405. Decor is interesting though the layout certainly speaks to a previous different purpose as a small apartment complex. Price per stars was excellent compared to other hotels in the area and even if the continental breakfast isn't included in your rate, it is only $7 a […] la carte. There might also be a parking charge but if you really wish to avoid it, you can likely find street parking nearby. Easy walk to a major upscale mall and various restaurants. 더 보기

The hotel was a very cool boutique selection in LA for a business trip or stay where you aren't looking to stay on the property. Our room was nice sized for a boutique and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was larger than most hotels this style that i have been too. Breakfast was week but they do have wine and beer available […] for purchase which was nice after a long day of working. I stay here everytime I come to LA so this must be my 5th or so stay here. It is fairly close to LAX, it has a good shopping mall a 2 min walk down the road, as well as great access to buses if you are a public tranpsort person. You can get a buses to a couple of big Westfield malls easily from outside the mall down the road (just 1 bus to each - no […] transfers required). One is the Century City Westfield, the other the Fox Hills Westfield. You can also get one bus out to Santa Monica which is lovely for shopping especially in good weather. The hotel is really small, cute and boutique with cool interiors, all the rooms I have stayed in seem pretty spacious as do the bathrooms. No external windows, but windows that open out to a central courtyard. Staff usually pretty helpful and lovely. 더 보기

I sent an employee (who complete the question portion of this review)to this hotel for a business trip and he came back really excited about the location. He said he could walk to great shopping, dining and it was close to a nice golf course. He called the hotel "swanky" and said it was a great place to stay. clean and good price

If you are into "boutiquish" paint and mirrors and vanities, this may be your place. It is also 1/2 block from the Westwood Mall. Otherwise, the rooms are small, the nightlife is less than expected, and like everyone else says, the parking lot is quite cramped. The only heat in the room was a portable oscillating floor heater. I come to LA 2-3 times a month for work, and I always make it a point to stay here even though my firm likes to book our employees at the Beverly Hilton. It's a nice design, very comfortable, and I love the small hotel feel it gives you (ie free water, coffee, cookies, internet, central meeting area, etc). you can't see from the photos but this is an updated old motel. The problem is the exterior walkways are very noisy, esp. if you are on the ground floor. There is no sound insulation and it feels like people are on your head all night. don't book if you have a ground floor. Othewise, the price is right and the rooms are spacious and OK.

From the outside The LA Sky Hotel looks like the Bates Motel, but it has REALLY nice rooms...the price was great. No restaurant or bar, but a really nice restaurant across the street.

I have to admit that when my wife and I first pulled up to the hotel, we didn't think much of it. We were pleasantly surprised at the room decor, comfort and cleanliness. We didn't take part in the continental breakfast for $7 but there were a number of locations in the neighborhood to get a meal. The free and easy use high speed internet service was […] a plus. 더 보기

Good hotel, clean, friendly and simple layout with cool decor. Only complaint being that it the courtyard gives an echo that allows you to hear when people are talking in it. That said, would definitely stay here again.

Loved the Cute Courtyard and Hotel Clerk was awesome. The room was comfortable as soon as we hit the bed. The white fluffy comforter made it heavenly. Nice modern decor simple and functional. The only con we didn't like was the "tight" parking and I mean can of sardines. Overall from where we had to be the next day, I would stay here again.

Our three night stay recently at the Sky was fun! The bed was great and the room was immaculate and nicely decorated although a bit small. I missed having a window that looked outside. However the indoor courtyard was beautiful. The continental breakfast was a nice offering for a fee. I also appreciated the rear parking and the security it provided. […] The fee was acceptable. Besides me having to explain to the front desk person how to check me in, and how my reservation was already paid for... everything was nice. Chic without being too expensive. R

Parking is additional $15. They a copy of your credit and of your driver license at check-in. Rooms are nice and large, but it is apparent this used to be a motel. It is OK to pass a night, but nothing more.

Not what I expected. Can hear the hallway noise, converstions. Left my pillow and they tossed it. no attempt to contact me or least hold on to it for a day. Bed comfortable. Room and hotel nothings specail. looks better in pictures.

Hotel is nice, rooms are very large. Pillows not comfortable for us. Should have requested down pillows. Breakfast too expensive for what they offer in comparison to the restaurant across the street that has a full breakfast with eggs, etc. Parking lot is terrible and very very tight, but otherwise the hotel is charming and cozy.

This hotel clearly was a motel converted into a boutique hotel. We loved the room (very comfortable), but at [redacted]/night I was surprised to find out it was previously a motel. Would have been happier at a lower price point.

Clean and well kept but definitely not a Hilton or Hyatt. Surrounding area not great, but safe.

Nice small boutique hotel. Clean modern rooms, free wi-fi. Parking is $15 a night though which is kind of a bummer. Other than that, good deli across the street (Juniors) and close to all the stuff you need. Downtown, Venice, Santa Monica, Hollywood etc.

The renovated Sky Hotel is beautifully designed and appointed (except the plastic flowers in the courtyard and the flower canopy enclosing the old motel). Our room was lovely, large, and comfortable. Our disappointments were the location, which lacked nightlife and the fitness room, which had non-working machines, no weights, and very limited hours […] due to it's proximity to two guest rooms (I was asked not to use the TV volume). As much as we would enjoy staying in the luxurious room we had again, the other shortcomings will likely preclude our return. 더 보기

The room in the Sky Boutique Hotel was small but clean, and comfortable. It is better suited for one person. The cost of parking was reasonable. The neighborhood was commercial but laid back.
