Such a great location and view. Aging a bit, but well maintained mostly, especially the grounds. The linens and rooms should be refurbished. Nice staff all around from those cleaning the rooms and lobby to the pool bar staff and restaurant servers. Rather quiet with all the new lodging offerings in the Cabo area, just does not offer what some people […] want in a hotel today. My husband and I had a great time at the Finisterra! The food and service was excellent!

We arrived in the afternoon (1400 local) and the rooms weren't ready. We were only here one night on business and were hoping to get some pool time in. We had to wait about 2 hours for just one room to be ready. When the second room was ready there was no hot water. My business partner reported no hot water during the entire one night stay. In addition […] the entry opens to an area where the air conditioning cooling fans ran all night. They were place between the hotel and a steep cliff which caused the sound to echo. I stayed in the old section in a beautiful room with a great view. It was spotlessly clean except for the mold in the corners by the tub. However, there was no mold in the areas of the bathroom where your feet touch the floor. Clearly it's not a problem of poor cleaning. It must be overspray from the shower which is hard to control. From arrival, to depart, this hotel, for the $$ it is top notch. Energy is very good, relaxing, 24guards on site, free parking and perfect location. 5min walk from everything, convient store right in front :) pool is nice a large, many seats open with great Ocean front :) front desk and conierge was VERY helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here mainly for two reasons: the location - which is walking distance to the marina/downtown area where all the restaurants/bars/activities are and the private beach which has the most amazing sunsets and the hammocks were soo comfy. We pretty much almost had the beach to ourselves which was fantastic since there are no solicitors […] to bother you like at Playa Medano. The hotel and Cabo itself were pretty empty. We initially had the newer rooms overlooking the Marina but those rooms were too small. We were able to change to a huge room with ocean and pool view, but the decor is older and there is a slight musty smell from the air conditioner but it didn't bother me that much, esp since there was sooo much more room. A few cons: the hotel is on top of a small hill so we'd have to walk up & down that everyday but it wasn't too bad & they do offer shuttle for the driveway. The pools aren't heated and only one jacuzzi was working at the time. But overall, great stay and would recommend to friends! 더 보기

One of the few places with free WiFi in bars and restaurants. Reasonable prices and choice of rooms with either ocean or harbor views. Love the palapa and Blue Marlin for eating. The fish cerviche is great as is the jicama, orange and cuke salad. Lovely staff.

The refrigerator was not working and hot tubs were non-functioning. Room was desent but limited services received after hours.

what a great place quiet convient and friendly

We stayed June 2011 for four nights and very much enjoyed our stay, but were surprised to find there weren't many others staying at the hotel... must be the season. Our room was in the oldest building of Finnesterra, or so I was told, but it was very nicely appointed. After having a small kitchen in our previous hotel in Cabo, it was hard just to have […] a mini-fridge and no microwave, and the room had no extra room with the two queen beds filling it, so we sat out on the balcony when we wanted to sit together. One nice feature of where we stayed is that the hotel is right across the street and up the hillside from the Cabo Dolphin exhibit, so we were able to watch the dolphin shows every afternoon from our balcony! Using the zoom on my camera I got some great shots! Most of the hotel rooms are facing the Pacific Ocean so I think it's just this "E" building that gets you the view of the dolphins. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, but I couldn't give them a "5" rating since the elevator in our building was not working so we had to walk up two flights of beautiful stone outdoor stairs to get to our room. The pool area was fabulous. The first pool has lots of shallow toddler depth so we saw a couple families there, then the second pool was large and mostly about 4 feet deep so my 5 year old, who is not a strong swimmer, could enjoy the water and not make me worry about him. It had a swimup bar with underwater barstools so we were over there ordering fruit smoothies all day. Part of the pool extends under the large thatch "hut" that houses the bar and dining area, so we could swim in the shade in the heat of the day. The 3rd pool closest to the Pacific is the largest and deepest pool so mostly just adults lounging there. The surf on the Pacific is large and there is NO swimming in the ocean on that side, but relaxing in one of there hammocks - me and my novia fit nicely into one - and enjoying the view of the surf was terrific. Overall a true example of Mexican hospitality. Great location, rooms, restaurant, beach, architecture. It is a true resort that is full service. The view is spectacular, particularly at the restaurant that is atop on the rocky hill. I felt super secure, even on these violent times in Mexico, they had their stuff together here. The price was great […] too compared to other big names. It is well within walking distance to the main marina and their shops, restaurants. 3 things they could work on (I use lodging 200+ days/yr) so I may be nit-picking now: 1-The room towels are outdated, washed too many times. 2-No wifi in the rooms, although they tell you that you may get reception from the pool bar, it doesn't happen, the restaurant in top of the hill does not have wifi either. 3-The Whale watcher Restaurant service is slow, but then again, I didn't mind with the beautiful view. 더 보기

Our first stay in Cabo and this is a great hotel! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean, quiet, nice views, and a good location. We went in April and not crowded at all. Of course, as everywhere there, avoid the timeshare people if you can. I'd certainly stay there again.

Just returned from a very nice trip to Cabo and stayed at the hotel. It exceeded my expectations for the price. Bed was average, pool chairs aren't great but everything else was outstanding including the location, amenaties and the views. Be careful, the whale watching bar charges 7 or 8 dollars for bottled water. Bring your own. The swim up bar staff […] was awesome. I would have no problem staying there again. 더 보기

This place is really close to the marina and downtown shopping area. Whale Watchers bar is a good place to get breakfast and dinner if you don't want to go to town. Everything went smoothly for us during our short stay. Great view, good drinks and food, and all around comfortable stay. Thanks!

The room we stayed in a 1 bedroom King in the Traditional section. It was gross. The shower had green and rest grossness in it. I had to wear my flipflops in the shower. The vanity light flickered and the sink was clogged. Everytime we turned it on to brush our teeth it would fill up and very slowly drain. The t.v. remote did not work so which was a […] pain at night. We like to watch t.v. before going to bed. We had to get up to turn it off. The pool area was very disappointing. The last night we called for a wake up call the next day and never received one. We also asked for a taxi the next morning and that also was not scheduled. Also, we were told that there are only 2 times that a shuttle comes to the hotel to go to the airport. At 10am and 12. Not sure if this was true or not. The taxi cost $60. I would not recommend staying at this hotel or at least in the traditional section.. 더 보기

Yes they try to get you to a timeshare presentation...but only once! And you get free margaritas even after telling them NO. Free margaritas that you can enjoy without a timeshare salesperson looking over your shoulder. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the view was incredible. I was dismayed at how much this hotel has declined since I was here last. The swimming pools were dirty and it appeared the suction cleaners were not operating. Also the jacuzzi pools were not operating and there were no pool waiters walking around to take any drink orders.

Our room was quite comfortable, good view of the ocean and had a very comfortable bed. The hotel is old but kept nicely but still needs some updating. More umbrellas are needed around the pool. We would go back.

The rooms need updating and the ice machines were empty most of the time. However the grounds and rooms were clean. It appeared the pool bottoms need to be resurfaced and chairs out on the beach would have been nice. Hotel and Pool Staff was friendly. Only one place to eat on property doesn't work well.

This is a great hotel in my opinion! it's quite when you want to escape the downtown fun and craziness but within walking distance to the action! It's actually 2 sections the old Finisterra and the new. I was seriously disappointed that a property boasting a Pacific Ocean location would omit the little detail that it was too dangerous to actually swim in said ocean. This was my first time in Cabo, and maps made it a bit tough to determine a location. I opted for this location based on it's proximity to the marina. This hotel would be great for folks […] who primarily to sit poolside and take the occasional cab into town (marina is down a very steep hill). That is not my own taste in vacations, however. For those not minding the absence of beachfront Tesoro is in the middle of marina area and nightclubs, and the Medano Beach properties offer access to other side of marina as well as use of the Sea of Cortez. I would still contact the property directly to inquire about water access. And for any property you are well advised to arrange hotel transportation in advance. 더 보기

We like the close proximity to town, the marina, and land's end. We miss the view the Finisterra used to have 25 years ago but it is still a nice place to stay for the price. Their pools are great. Jacuzzis could be hotter. Rooms could be cleaner. Restaurant food and drinks were good though.

Hotel sits on a hill, on the Pacific, with a short walk to the Marina. The marina is where most of the action is in Cabo San Lucas. Moderate incline hill, not a bad walk. Pacific side, non-swiming beach but very nice views. Personally, I think the swiming beaches are over-crowded anyway. Quite but also close to the action. My husband doesn't want me to tell you how great Hotel Finisterra is so we can keep it for ourselves. Nice pools and hot tubs, good service, helpful concierge, good restaurants, and great location.

We were so excited to stay at the hotel and were amazed by how great of a deal it was. Little did we know that for the pirce we paid the service would be hands down the worst I have ever seen. We were not allowed bring any guests back and we were hasseld every time we went in or out of the hotel. I felt like I was in school again and my teacher had […] to keep tabs on me. The only thing that we liked about this hotel was our room. Our room overlooked the ocean and it was very romantic. The housekeeping was just sorry and our room had roaches in it. If they were to get rid of the roaches this would be a great hotel.

Just returned from our vacation. I had originally booked this hotel because I heard rave reviews from my brothers wife as she has stayed here on severall occasions. She recommended eating at the Whale Watcher Restaurant and Bar. To our suprise, due to maintenace it was closed as well as the Blue Marlin Restaurant, the gym, the spa. Our only choices […] for food was the pool bar :( or to trek down the hill into town. It was DEAD empty and they didn't offer shuttles to take you UP or down the hill. Muy buen atencion de la mayoria del personal, habitacion comoda y limpia, alberca limpia y el jacuzzi excelente. Excelente valor-costo, cercano al centro se llega caminando y frente al embarcadero de la marina.
