location was great. but hotel facilities are old fashioned. so i was disappoited when i entered in my room. bathroom was very clean. and i cold get clean and enough towels every day. staff was friendly.

the Hotel St, James(성 제임스 호텔)은 훌륭한 위치에 있다. 빌딩, 방 그리고 가구들은 조금 구식이다: 창문 에어컨, 라디에이터, 고대의 작은 티비, 호텔을 나갈때 프론트에 맡겨야 하는 진짜 방열쇠; 그러나 침대 시트와 화장실은 깨끗하다. 와이파이 또한 무료이다, 요즘 같은 시대에 무료라니 매우 좋지만, 신호가 약하다. 솔직히, 내 생각에 호텔들을 다른 저렴한 오래된 호텔과 구별하는 것은 서비스이다. 프로트 직원은 정말로 친절하고 매력적인데 뉴욕에서는 드문일이다. 그래서 만약 당신이 친절한 직원이 있는 적당한 가격의 장소찾고 책상이나 시계라디오가 필요 없다면, 이곳은 좋은 선택이다.

훌륭한 작은 호텔은 Manhattan(맨하탄의) 어느 곳이든지 가깝다. 내가 the Big Apple(뉴욕)에 있을때마다 항상 머무는 곳이다

우리는 꼭 다시 St. James(성 제임스)에 다시 머물것이다. 직원들은 훌륭했다. 그들은 항상 끝내주게 도움이 되었고 잘 협조해 주었다. 위치 또한 완벽했다. Time Square(타임 스퀘어)에서 반 블록 밖에 떨어지지 않았고 바로 옆에는 분식집(Cranberry) 또한 매우 좋다. 우리는 언제나 거기서 아침을 사온다. 매우 맛있다. 방(12층)에서 인터넷이 되지 않았지만 금새 아래칭에 라운지에 가면 됐다. 무료 인테넷을 위한 거라면 작은 수고다. 밤에 쓰레기 차 말고는 방에는 소음은 없었지만 에어컨 소리가 그 소리를 들리지 않게 해주었다. 방은 또한 매우 깨끗하고 침대는 편안했다.

엘러배이터가 작동하지 않을때 우리는 8층에 있었다. 우리는 그 전날 무언가가 잘못되었다고 항의 했었었고 그들은 별로 걱정하지 않았다. 그래서 출발하기 위해서 짐은 어떻게 가지고 내려가나? 엉망이다.

매우 협조적이고 매우 친절한 호텔에서 우리의 4번째 휴가다. 이 도시의 모든 유명한 볼거리와 가깝고 근처의 식당들은 너무 비싸지 않다. 난 내년에 머물것을 기대한다. 강력히 이 호텔을 추천한다.

이 호텔을 선택한 유일한 이유는 Times Square에서 가까워서이다. 프런트 서비스는 매우 불친절했고 완전히 이상헀다. 그들은 말하는 동안 우리를 올려다 보지도 않았다.그들은 우리 방키들을 매번 그냥 손으로 밀어 주었다 다른일을 하면서 -보통 컴퓨터만 바라보았다. 방에서는, 침대 옆 탁자 밑에서 사용한 많은 휴지들이 있었고 전 투숙객의 쓰레기도 남아있었고 우리가 도착했을때도 치우지 않았다.

Times Square에서 몇블럭 떨어졌고 Penn Station에서 걸을수 있는 거리에 있다 추가로 만약, 당신이 우리 처럼 기차로 여행 한다면. 킹싸이즈 침대가 있었는데, 내 경험으로는 NYC호텔들에서는 전례가 없는것으로 안다. 바로 옆에는 커피샵이 두개가 있고 그중하나는24시간 오픈한다; 둘다 훌륭한 아침식사들이 있고 집으로 가는 기차로도 갈곳이 많다. 이 모텔의 이런 좋은 것들에도, 놀랍게도 샤워시설이 작동하지 않았다. 내 남편은 억지로 목욕을 해야 했고 그것은 남편에게는 우울한 경험이었다. 나는 목욕을 좋아한다. :) 전반적으로 훌륭한 곳이었다.

Hotel St. James에서 두 번에 숙박했습니다. 처음에는 정말 좋았습니다. 나쁘지 않았습니다. 방은 정말 작았지만 다 합져봐야 10시간 밖에 거기 있지 않았습니다. 따라서 사이즈는 문제가 되지 않았습니다. 이 호텔을 고른 이유는 지하철, Times Square, 같은 거리에 있는 예쁜 아이리시 바에서 가까웠기 때문입니다. 화장실도 깨끗하고, 타월도 깨끗하고, 침대도 깨끗했습니다. 방에 있는 카펫도 깨끗했습니다. 방은 깨끗한 냄시가 났습니다. 그래서 저랑 마누라는 좋았습니다. 유일한 불만은 변기에서 악취가 났습니다. 하수구가 넘친 것은 아닌 것 같은데 무엇이었는지 알 수가 없었습니다.

NYC에 처음 왔을 때 St.James 호텔에 숙박했습니다. 호텔은 오래되었고, 심플했습니다. 방은 작지만 기본적인 건 모두 있었습니다. 필요하면 다리미와 판을 요청해야 하지만 둘 다 바로 줍니다. 방문들이 정말 불안정합니다.. 거기를 통해 모든 소리가 들리고, 제 생각에는 누군가 열려고 하면 쉽게 열릴 것 같았습니다. 밖으로 나갈 때마다 방 키를 두고 가야 하는 것도 걱정이 되었습니다. 특히 그들이 내 ID를 한번도 검사하지 않았기 때문에 약간 불안했습니다. 침대는 최악이었습니다.. 심하게 흔들렸습니다! 이 모든 것에도 불구하고 다시 이 곳에서 머무르는 것을 고려중입니다. 바로 모든 게 가까이 있기 때문입니다. Times […] Square는 정문에서 문자 그대로 몇 발짝만 가면 됩니다. Central Park는 잠깐 걸어가면 됩니다. 다음에 올 때는 방이 아닌 더 많은 편의시설에 돈을 좀 더 투자하고 싶습니다. 더 보기

I totally recomend the St James Hotel... is half block from times square if you want to be in the heart of manhattan at an affordable price this is the place to stay!

THIS HOTEL IS ALL ABOUT LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.THE ROOM DID NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. IT DID NOT HAVE AN ICE MACHINE. I enjoyed my overnight stay and was able to walk to just about everything on my to do list - broadway, good food & shopping. I honestly liked the ambiance but I'm not a new & shiny kind of girl. This place has character and I loved it. It's NOT fancy so if you want that go somewhere else. I could not believe the condition of the room. I have stayed at Motels in the past that is more update. The furniture, television, carpet and furniture was so outdated. Even the Radiators in the room looks like what was in my Grandmother's old house. No frills hotel in great location rooms clean bed linen fresh staff very helpful

The lobby of the hotel is a little tired. My room was perfectly fine, clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had wireless in my room based on reviews I had read. All in all, a good value.

front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. room cleaning was just ok. pleasantly pleased with our stay here. great location, half block from times square but very quiet ( our hotel room was at the back so awful view but very quiet- totally acceptable)

We are a family of four on a 3 month holiday. We stayed in NY for 5 nights at the St James Hotel. The website and comments state the condition of hotel & rooms very well. It is so close to Times Square and many other fantasic NY sights ... we walked everywhere. The hotel is old and looking a bit tired, but it is clean and tidy. The rooms are very small […] (especially for four peope sharing 2x double beds), but also clean & tidy. A few minor grumbles were - the noise ... NY is noisy anyway, so just need to get on with it, but there is contruction going on a few doors down and that kept us awake early & late (even ear plugs didn't help!) ... also the room was very hot, we couldn't turn the heating down. The big pluses for us for this hotel were, the location, the free wifi, the cleanliness, the value for money and finally one of the 'front of staff' Joey ... he was absolutely awesome, from the time he welcomed us at 7pm when we arrived, to the time we left. Our kids absolutely loved him and drew a picture for him + insisted we left him a NZ gift and tip. He couldn't have been more helpful ... from assisting us to get to a baseball game (Mets lost!) to advice on where to eat ...10 out of 10 for Joey for us. 더 보기

Spacious room in good location BUT no drapes on the large windows just translucent miniblinds leaving the room light at night AND heavy, long term construction on the 45st side (rooms X02 thru X05). Note X = floor number. Other rooms may also be noisey in the morning cement trucks, hammering, heavy equiptment, etc.

I stayed at the Hotel St. James in April with my best friend to celebrate her 50th birthday. When we first checked in we were given rooms on the 12th floor and were told nicer rooms would be available the next day and we could switch. I would have been fine with the 12th floor, but my window did not close/lock properly, and there was a fire escape out […] the window. We did move to the 8th floor the next day, nicer and larger rooms. My room was in the back of the hotel and had little, if any warm water for showers. My friends room faced 45th street and she had plenty of hot water but her internet access was not as good as mine. The hotel staff are very friendly and accomadating and the hotel is in an excellent location. There was no air conditioning in any of the 4 rooms that we saw, which could be a factor in the warmer months. Also, there was no way to control the room temperature (radiator heat), but we never felt our rooms were cold. I would stay here again but it would depend on the time of year. I would also request a room toward the street, noiser no doubt but hot water in the shower would make up for it. I know they are renovating rooms so maybe they will have that all worked out soon. 더 보기

Hot water was a scarcity and it was necessary to run the water for almost 15 minutes (a waste) in order to get some that was hot. Our room was on the 6th floor and the street noise all night was very loud. There was no ice available (at least on our floor). The room and sheets were very clean. Leaving your key at the desk is strange, but required. Good […] wi-fi for free in the room. Nice staff, tried to be helpful. Great little cafe open 24/7 right next door..... so lack of coffee machine wasn't too miserable. The price is reasonable.... but I'd be reluctant to recommend it unless people understand what they are getting (or not getting). The entrance and loby of this hotel are very nice. The rooms are like Motel 6-bear minimum, except at Motel 6 I think the plumbing works...

This hotel was sad-as in run down, poorly maintained and quite dirty. The only bright spot was the pleasantness of the front desk staff. But that's just not enough for me. It was not worth the few dollars saved and next time I will cut corners on something else, but not the hotel.

The St. James Hotel in Times Square is a very nice place to stay if you're looking for something considerably more affordable than surrounding accommodations. There are no bells and whistles, however, so if you plan to spend most of your time out touring the city, this is a very good choice for you. Great Hotel. Nice firm bed. In NY to see shows and eat, walk around. Get location In Times Square. Could get everywhere we needed to be by foot or just a short subway ride. Great deli and restaurant right next door.

Hotel St. James is a very nice hotel with a friendly staff, conveniently located and it appears to be well maintained. However, it is mostly just a place to sleep. Although they advertise WiFi, don't expect to have anything usable. The TV was very small and appeared to be an afterthought. There was no pen and paper common with a hotel room (yea, a small […] thing, but try to write something down when nothing exists). The front desk staff was very friendly and I can tell they were used to dealing with complaints about the WiFi. The rooms were spacious, especially for a times square hotel. It has a very good location and the staff is friendly, however the hotel needs some work done. I would not recommend it if you have to stay more than 3 nights.

Room was very small. It was very hot in the room. iit had an old fashion radiator that banged all night long.Great location. Close to everything.

Hotel had an excellent location, however the decor was dated and the window mini blinds didn't cover the entire window. Also the bathroom window didn't lock and this made me nervous as I was traveling alone eventhough the room was on the 11th floor. The room was very clean, however the walls were thin and I could hear my neighbor's tv and alarm that […] he/she hit snooze on 7 times in the early morning which didn't make it a great way to wake up. When i had booked this hotel the reveiws on trip advisor give it 3-4 out of 5, some where good some not so good, you are always apprehensive until you actually see it for your own eyes, there where no surprises at all, loved every thing about the hotel. I would recomemend it to anyone.

OK, it is not The Plaza. If you want the Plaza, book a room at The Plaza...and pay 10 times as much. Hotel St. James has it's own kind of charm. Yes, our room looked like it has not been vacuumed in a while, but the bathroom was spotless. Yes, the furniture in the room looks like it was taken out of my 1970's dorm, but they do give you extra pillows […] and blankets. I wish I had gotten the name of the gentleman who checked us in, and was there most week days to give us the key to our room, but you could not have had a more friendly, gregarious person. He works days during the week. I have stayed here 4 times before and keep coming back because of the price and location, and best of all we never caught any "critters" from there, unlike some other fancier places. Who stays in their room while in NYC anyway? BTW...my favorite restaurant in NYC, Bond 45, is across the street. 더 보기

Very nice hotel, obviously very old but kept up well and renovated. Elevators could use some work, not very reliable and very very slow. Staff were helpful and courteous.

The Hotel St. James' best features are the location and the price. It's basically a no frills, basic hotel. The room was fine; small, but comfy and clean. Took a while for the water in the shower to get hot. I'd recommend bringing a bar of soap, as the ones provided were microscopic. The staff was friendly enough. No bar or restaurant in the hotel, […] but only 1,000,000 or so places to eat and drink in Midtown/Times Square, so that's no big deal. We stayed here for a week visiting NYC. From the low price we had quite low expectations, but we were absolutely positively surprised. The hotel is nicely placed close to Times Square and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The deli next door serves good and varied food at a reasonable price. The room was ok, but did not have air condition (could […] possibly become a bit hot during summer) and did not have a fridge/minibar. However, you get what you pay for and if you are in NYC as a tourist, you should probably not do much else in the room other than sleeping. Despite being on Times Square, practically no noise from the streets was to be heard, so sleeping was no problem (our room faced to the back). We would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget trip, perfect for students or young couples, more interested in seeing NYC rather than the inside of a hotel room. 더 보기

You can't get a better hotel for this price in Times Square area. Excellent staff, partially renovated rooms (prefer the lower floors). One caution only: avoid during summer, there in no AC. Any temperatures above 80ºF should be endured at another hotel. When I return to NYC, St. James is my first choice!

We had to make a late check in, thus the person Who attended us at the reception was not very friendly, and had no one to help us with the bag. At least, on the other days, some attendants were more pleasant. The location is fantastic, extremely closed by Times Square, but the hotel itself has no attractions at all. I decided to spend the night in NYC and took this room at the last minute. The Hotel was older and the room was worn. The carpet was frayed at the edges and spotted. The bed was comfortable enough and the flat screen TV was the only modern convenience in the room. I stayed at the St. James primarily because another review said the hotel was clean. Considering that most of the time the room is used is sleep time, I was not interested in amenities such as pools, etc. The St. James is a basic hotel. this hotel is perfect for tourists who want to be close to all the action of Time's Square....so central to everything. We had a room towards the back of the hotel and it was very quiet despite all the partying on the streets. Very friendly staff.

If you want a nice sized room - this is not for you. Before booking, I read the reviews that stated room was small. And boy howdy is it. But if all you want is a place to lay your head at night and get up in the morning and go at it again, this will work. Opened the windows to cool the room as there is no AC.
