My wife and I stayed here as a base for our stay in Flores and day-trip to Tikal. It was a large, clean hotel. Nice breakfast. When we went it was fairly empty (my wife and I joked with each other that we were the only ones staying there, and all the employees were just trying to look busy when we walked by). We originally chose that hotel partly because […] of the pool and "hot tub" but the pool was pretty chilly and the hot tub was not heated at all. The hotel staff was reasonably helpful and the airport shuttle was no problem. Next time I think we'll stay on Flores island itself for a bit more ambiance. 더 보기

We just returned from a 4-day 3-night stay on Lake Peten where we stayed at Peten Esplendido Hotel and Conference Center. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. The pool is real nice and the food is above average, especially the breakfast buffet. My third trip to the area and first time at Peten Esplendido Hotel and was very empressed. Staff was very nice and hotel had all the expected amenities. Restaurant was very good compared to the areas offerings.Fyi- the memu also was available in English. Poolside bar surprised us with free tasty bites .Almost everyone spoke some English,too. Very near […] to the causeway- over to Flores and there is Burger King and a Pollo Campo (very good fried and grilled chicken and pizza,etc) in a short walking distance. Prepagamos por una habitacion de categoria superior y con una cama king, al llegar, el hotel no tenia la habitacion disponible y nos dijeron que no la iban a tener disponibles, entonces nos dieron una habitacion demasiado pequeña con dos camas individuales, el empleado de la recepcion carecio de sentido comun ya que no ofrecio ni siquiera una disculpa […] por el inconveniente, la vista al lago no es la mejor ya que la habitacion esta lejos del borde del lago, el desayuno, aunque se describe como buffet, pero es bastante limitado, la zona donde esta ubicado el hotel es en Santa Elena y no es muy bonita, seria mejor elegir un hotel en Flores, que si es la zona turistica y mas segura. We prepaid for a superior room with king bed, upon arrival, the hotel had no room available and told us they would not be available, then got a room too small with two single beds, the employee's reception lacked common sense and not even offered an apology for the inconvenience, the lake view is not the best because the room is away from the edge of the lake, the breakfast buffet although it is described as, but is quite limited, the area where the hotel is located in Santa Elena and is not very nice, it would be best to choose a hotel in Flores, if it is the most powerful and safe tourist zone. 더 보기
