Excellent stay, the room very clean & the beds were very comfortable . We have already recommended it to our friends & relatives. Check in people were very friendly & helpful.

Very nice room, very private and easy access.

We where greeted by a very friendly attendent who gave us a complete overview of the resort. The room was very spacious and clean. We have traveled all over the world and would rate the resort as one of the top 5 we have stayed at. It was very relaxing on the 3rd floor and the view amazing. Looking forward to next year.

The Review asks about Carriage Ridge, but we where told we had booked Carriage Hills which is not ski in/out at night. We had to stay in the Hills section which is older and not the layout of rooms we wanted, Pool towels are size of napkins and there is nothing for teens at night as they have to be 18 to go to pool or play pool after 9PM. The room, pool and staff were exceptional. Would stay again verses any hotels in the area!

We had stayed here before and this time I had asked for (through the hotel itself) for a certain area if possible. Over the phone 2 days prior to arrival I had asked for this and was assured that as there were openings in that area that it would be no problem. Since we were going to Casinorama to watch a show, my husband and I decided to book a room at the Carriage Hills Resort. We were really looking forward to having some quiet time away from the kids. Since the resort is built apartment style, when you walk into what you think is your room, it's actually a tiny lobby where there are 2 units with doors, […] next to each other. The first thing we smelled was the strong odour of food; someone in the next unit was cooking. In our instance our next door neighbours were a family with small children. The children were running around like crazy in the room next to us, which was not very conducive to us having an afternoon nap or even relaxing in the room before going to the show. The next morning they were up again, around 6:30 am..and we could clearly hear their screaming and conversations with their parents, asking for breakfast, etc. Needless to say...we didn't get a lot of sleep, and checkout is way too early at 10 am. POSITIVES? The rooms at the Carriage Hills were comfortable, with lots of space and amenities, and with a pretty comfy bed. NEGATIVES: when you have a couple checking in, please let them know that their next door neighbours will be children under the age of 6 and that there will be noise. Had we known that, we could have asked for a different room or gone someonewhere else. They should split the buildings into Adult and Families so this doesn't happen again. I love kids but why would I have to be subject to them when I'm paying good money to stay somehwere? Would we go again? Probably not. 더 보기

Our stay was really amazing. We have stayed at numerous Ontario resorts and this was one of the top for us as a young family. Great kids programs, the best pool we have ever been to, with a lifeguard at all times! We had a horse drawn sleigh ride in the snow and incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Went on a 2 night stay with family, I have 1 young daughter, 1 bedroom suite was great, lots of room and good size kitchen to cook. Pull out sofa was NOT comfortable to sleep or sit on. Like a few others finding the place was a bit of a challenge but with the helpful ways of the CRR check in girls, all ended well with their guidance. I wanted to take my girl out for our first excursion overnight and I wanted it to be special and it was. For the $26 diff in accommodations it was well worth it. She loved everything and so did I. We […] went for a swim and a hot tub and had the best time of it. We loved the seclusion of the area and the layout of the rooms. It was wonderful in every way. If you want something just a bit out of the norm of regular Hotel Room, well this is it. We plan on going back again, this time in mid-summer but being there in the fall was gorgeous. the room is very nice, we have stayed here multiple times, this time however wasn't as good as past visits, the jacuzzi leaked all over the bathroom floor, housekeeping didn't come on our second day so we were stuck with wet towels for the remainder of the second and third day. people below us were extremely loud all night long, even a complain to security, […] they didn't get any quieter, we got out of our bed and walked to the front desk in the middle of a rain storm and complained, still nothing done, very rude. and not happy about that. 더 보기

Resort was beautiful, very well kept grounds and rooms. Couldnt beat the price. Staff was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Would definetly recommend to anyone not wanting to stay in the busy city.

Just recently stayed with 6 of my girlfriends for a night away. The rooms were beautiful, we had a 2 bedroom suite, and was more than enough room for all 7 of us. Although one of the girls found the pullout bed to be very uncomfortable. We brought our own food and cooked a very nice dinner and then planned to go to the Crazy Horse Saloon, but unfortunately […] there were no cabs or shuttle service available. There are no "restaurants/night entertainment at the Carriage Ridge so it would have been nice if the resort provided a shuttle service to the Horseshoe Resort for nightly entertainment. There is not allot to do at this resort so we expected to go to Horseshoe the next day to register for some of the activities (zip fly), only to spend 1.5 hours in line early in the morning to find out that it was booked up for the day. Would hate to see what it is like "in season". It was disappointing that the adventure park could not acommadate for those people that were staying at the resorts. The pool and hot tub was very nice. When we checked into our room, we were a little dissapointed that it faced the parking lot. When we asked anout moving, we were told there wopuld be a 40. charge for housekeeping, and we wouldn't be able to move until the next day. A litle dissapointing. We were two adults registered in one room for 3 nights...we were given one tiny bottle of shampoo. […] Needless to say we ran out the second day. All in all we enjyed our stay...but a couple little things would have improved it a lot. Should have told us we were facing a parking lot upon booking. 더 보기

Nice place but impossible to find. My GPS took 20 min away in the wrong direction with your postal code.... Not happy !

Had difficulty entering the coordinates in to the GPS but once we solved that problem we were extremely pleased with the room and the location. I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were very approachable, excellent customer service.

It was VERY hard to get a cab to come and pick me up when travelling. No one seemed to know where this resort was. It was also very hard to find, not enough signs.

This hotel is a fabulous alternative to traditional hotels. The rooms were large, comfortable and well decorated. The bathroom was luxurious, and the kitchen well stocked. My only complaints are: (a) there were small children in the suite above us, and it sounded like a herd of elephants at times; and (b) the TV didn't always work properly. the carpeting was disgusting, it was in need of replacing.

First of all, we received a good deal on the room so for that reason, we would go back. It was very clean but the beds were VERY uncomfortable. The other major issue was that the pool (which was the main reason we went) was out of service for the entire weekend (35 degree weather) as a result of rowdy guests but the hotel did nothing to compensate or […] appease (except to say that the closest pool was a ten minute walk away). The property doesn't seem to have been maintained well (exteriors dirty and chipping paint everywhere). While the room, hotel and staff were very nice, the neighbours were not. Families with several children, allowed them to run wild back and forth. Ringing doorbells and banging on the floor above and beside us until 1:20 am. Ruined our whole evening. Security had to be called twice. Check in was fast. The room was great. Only 15 minute drive to orillia, 25 to barrie. Horseshoe is only minutes away and they have a couple nice restaurants on horseshoe resort. Came up for a snowboarding trip and unfortunately it rained but other than that great experience. Would definitely return.

I would strongly recommend this place for many reasons. We stayed one Sunday evening as a girls night away. Service at check-in was quick and friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The pools and hot tubs were wonderful. This resort is a great place for skiers, hikers and golfers since those activities are just a few minutes away.

Enjoyed the entire weekend while visiting the area so our son could compete in the kids of steel triathlon event. Suites are very well appointed. The BBQs are a nice touch and we enjoyed having homemade BBQ'ed burgers while we were there. The kids enjoyed the use of the wading pool, the hot tub, and the main pool. We have stayed at the "Ridge" and its sister "Hills" many times and have almost no complaints over the years. We do wish the pool stayed open til 11 pm as 10 is too early for a "resort" to close. (remember we're on holiday, we can stay up later, and we want to relax in the pool)

We only stayed one night here, but wish we could have spent more. There was tons to do for the whole family. We stayed in the summer and it was beautiful!

Excellent resort but a little hard to find at night your first time.

Great place to stay,if you travel with kids just recommend phone hotel before booking and confirm type of room (i.e studio or 1 bdr) and if kitchen includes cooktop.

Easy access to Barrie and nice facilities. Lovely pool and decent playground. Rooms were a good size and well-equipped for making breakfast and storing small amounts of food. Room and grounds were clean and neat. Off season rates were better than Barrie hotels.

I love this place.. good to get away from the world.. As couple or with family...

It is a time share, but far exceeded our expectations. If you are going to Barrie and have at least 4 in your party, this is the place to stay.
