The Hotel Morales was perfect for a night in Guadalajara to celebrate our tenth anniversary. The architecture was beautiful but you did not have to sacrifice comfort as the room was small but with high ceilings and all the conveniences. This hotel is absolutely beautiful, in the perfect location for a city break. The first room i had was perfect, but I found that the noise from the street was too much, also the piano player in the mornings was lovely on the first day but after a few days i'd had enough. when i asked to change rooms because of the noise it was no trouble for the staff […] and they were very helpfull. Perfect location for sightseeing in Guadalajara, everything in walking distance, and the taxis are very cheap anyway. The room managed to be quiet despite the street activity- the double glazed French doors work especially well to shield you from the traffic. While the staff is very courteous and obliguing sometimes the standards are less than perfect- forgetting items in room service orders, forgetting to tell guests about the mandatory deposit required to use the […] telephone, or a room with only one electrical plug in. What a gem. This beautifully restored colonial hacienda is four. Locks from the cathedral. Staff was amazing, private garage and WiFi in all the rooms now! So nice we stayed an extra day.

We spent 3 nights here and found the hotel charming and the location perfect. We were able to walk to restaurants, shopping, etc. The suggestions given by the staff for restaurants was perfect, we had some wonderful meals.

The hotel was lovely, well maintained, and the staff friendly. The rooms were comfortable - the bed a little to hard for my comfort. We were there the New Years Eve week and it was holiday time for the kids, and it was a little noisey.

This hotel a good option if you already know the area, and you are vacationing/relaxing (no internet needed); and it is reasonably clean and safe. this hotel is not good if you are unfamiliar with Guadalajara and are there on business. The hotel is pretty, with a beautiful lobby and an adequate restaurant. The wifi internet in public areas is useless--horrible connectivity and in/out every 5-10 min. The front desk and concierge were not helpful with the internet--they told me it was my problem. The hotel staff gave me bad walking directions to locations on three separate occasions. NICE Vaulted ceiling rooms! 2 Flat screens! I was very impressed. Friendly staff and very helpful. I read a lot of these ratings and honestly people... grow up and quit being so nit picky. Boo Hoo wifi was not 100%. Go outside and enjoy the city! Thank you Hotels.com I will use you again!

My first trip to guadalajara, hotel morales location is wonderful and covinient. Walking distance to places.close to many restaurants. Staff was good, I left the hotel with no complaints..would highly recomended.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at the Morales in August, 2011. We were very pleased with the beautiful building and service. The room was very attractive and clean. The housekeeping staff was very friendly. The only problem we encountered was that there is no high speed internet service in the rooms. I found this out after making my reservations and […] called hotels.com from another town in Mexico. Customer service called the hotel and immediately called me back to say we could use a cable connection. We put down 100 pesos for the cable deposit, but there was no internet connection. We switched to a different cable--still no service. We were told by the front desk staff that we should get service. The only high speed connection is in the lobby. For us this was a disadvantage especially since we had been told the cable service would work. We were finally able to get a very low speed connection on our laptops in the room from the lobby service. Wonderful experience from the greeting at the door to the private car to the airport. Very impressed with the room, staff, meals including the piano player during breakfast. Would highly recommend and hope to come back again. Felt safe in both the hotel and surroundings.

This hotels greatest attribute is its ideal location for experiencing downtown Guadalajara. Walking distance from some of the cities main attractions and authentic restaurants. The hotel's old Mexican colonial architecture is elegant and beautiful. Traveler's tip: like in most cities, it is not smart to walk around downtown too late at night.

The hotel was very clean, the rooms sometimes were not as cleas as I anticipated them to be. Overall the cleaneness was ok. The room that we got was an inside court room and at somtimes it was noise but nothing that we could not handle. The water faucets were also noise but it lasted as long as the shower, the only thing that if they shower at night […] we woke up from a sudden sleep. This only happend twice but it had to do with the persons staying at the hotel showering at late hours, to help them with the severe heat. The food was excellent, we ate there all the time and never got sick. The waiters and waitreses were very nice and gave up good service. 더 보기

Generally a nice Boutique Hotel a step above typical Mexican brand hotels. Beds were satisfactorily comfortable and while not pillow top, they were not the tyypical board like beds found in Mexico. We were in a 4th floor two queen bed suite. Very clean and good room cleaning service each day, even when we did not leave the room until mid afternoon. […] Nice large bathroom and shower, however there was no door between the sink area and the bedroom, so you can not really get ready in the morning or wash your hands at night without disturbing others in the room, Great view with easy opening windows that are great soundproofing from street noise when closed. Hotel is generally quite with a good lobby to relax in and free easy to access wi-fi in lobby. Wi-fi in the room was only by cable which you had to put a 100 peso refundable deposite on. Bring your own longer (25") cable if you want to sit in bed and use the wi-fi. Room has a electroni operated safe and card keys for the door. If you want extra card keys for the room you have to put down a 50 peso refundable deposit for each key. Hotel only provides two bath towels, and one habd towel per room, but with a little persistence you can get them to bring one or two more. While in generally good condition,we did have a ceiling light out in the shower area the first night which made it impossible to shower because it was pitch black inn the room. Staff told us they had no lights to fix it that night, it was repaired the next morning, however the light outside the room door was also out which the bellman noted, but was never repaired. Air conditioning unit was a bit noisy from time to time and it did create a cold draft for one bed, but the other side is that it did cool very well. Atrium areas of the old building are very nice and architecturally beautiful. Lastly if you are visiting the sites such as the theater and cathederal in the histroc Centro are this is a great place with doorman there to help you and watch at all time 더 보기

To the nay sayers of this hotel I say this...the Hilton or Hyatt is down the street and you need to go there before bashing this older boutique hotel in the center of historic Guadalajara. Location wise you cannot miss with this hotel. I found the hotel location safe..even at night..but I was not out at 3 in the morning mind you. Home by 9-10pm at the […] latest. Staff very friendly and ready to help out and offer info. Walking distance to all. Good breakfast at lobby restaurant but also try the local places nearby. The lobby bar was good and if you lucky you some music from a mariachi in the lobby. Rooms are sized about right for this old type of hotel...again you Hiltoners need not come here. The beds were good but not great but I think thats because of my american bed habits I have...this did not stop me from having a good night sleep. For those of you complaining about traffice noise.??? well I had a room facing the street and I did not find it to be an issue, nothing couple of beers and a shot of tequila would not take care of for you light sleepers. As always, I had a very pleasant stay at the Morales Hotel. It's location (three blocks from the main square) is unbeatable. In the heart of downtown yet quiet and refined, this classic colonial style hotel offers 4 star accommodations and 5 star service. I highly recommend it for everyone travelling to Guadalajara!

One reviewer commented that the hotel seemed to nickel and dime them for services, I didn't experience this. I suggest that you pay in advance online. Some hotels are reluctant to add extra charges once you have committed to a specified length of time (that doesn't mean you'll get a free meal at the restaurant located on the lobby floor). The hotel does offer a van ride to the airport or bus station. A cab will cost slightly less. Our room was in the back area of the hotel and all seemed well until an open air concert begun in the night. It was really loud and we could hear every word sung and spoken. The music stopped at 3:00 am. We have never stayed in a hotel like this and been kept awake all night. This beautifully restored historic hotel was the perfect place from which to explore the downtown historic district by foot. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The central courtyards, with fountains and singing birds, were a welcome respite from the busy downtown streets and our rooms were very quiet. The restaurant and bar are reasonable […] with excellent breakfasts and dinners. We sampled quite a few restaurants in and adjacent to the historic district, and El Ruedo compared very well. We stayed at the hotel the first two days of our trip, and then went to Puerto Vallarta by bus to visit friends. However, we liked the Hotel Morales so much that we made arrangements to stay there again for two nights before we flew back to La Paz. Be sure you get the ethernet cable for internet access in your room (just requires a small deposit, which you get back when you check out) as the Wifi does not work well except downstairs in the lobby. We would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, based on our experiences. It was a chance find, from a google search for reviews of hotels in Guadalajara, that definitely paid off. 더 보기

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel and will be back for sure. The only thing we didn't like were the flourecent lights in the lobby and rooms, which took away from the old world feel of the hotel somewhat.

The hotel was great other than the fact that there was a piano that started playing at 7am, so if your an early riser its fine, but if not don't expect to sleep in.

Gorgeous Place. The stone arches and open courtyards make you feel like you've traveled in time. The clean rooms, friendly staff and ideal location, more than over-compensated for the lack of amenities such as a workout room, swimming pool etc.

We stayed at Hotel Morales for 4 days, the rooms were clean, staff was helpful, location is close to sights but it can be loud. The hotel is build with open court yards so outside noise penetrate easily into the rooms. Our first night was a Saturday and loud music kept us awake until 4 am! The next day was better but still music could be heard until […] 3 am, the rest of the days were quiet. Maybe we were just unlucky that weekend. Overall the hotel is nice and we would consider staying there again if we can avoid the weekend. 더 보기

The rooms are extremely clean and quiet. They have been recently remodeled! Great value in a great central location. The hotel is in the center of the historic part of Guadalajara. If you like sightseeing and visiting museums then this is the place to stay at!

Highly recommend this hotel for visitors to Guadalaharja,MX. Close to historic district, restaurants and shopping. Very friendly staff who help in navigating around the city and other areas. Always someone on duty who speaks english. Wish I could return soon.

I read many reviews on TripAdvisor about Hotel Morales. I agree with their positive comments. Room service was excellent. The hotel is fascinating with its maintenance of the historic architecture, as well as renovated rooms and new comforts. I felt safe at all times and enjoyed the historic center immensely. I highly recommend the Hotel Morales.

Stay @ Hotel Morales Historical betw 9-Feb thru 13-Feb-2011. The location was great and the room very nice. The hotel staff very friendly. My only complaint is the noise in the early morning when I would like to sleep in. But, if you are an early riser, no problem. You do not need an alarm clock.
