카라스마 시죠 버스 정류장과 지하철 시죠에서 아주 가깝지는 않음 1층에 스타벅스와 베이커리 중국음식점 등이 있음 방이 좀 낡았었는데 갔을때 리노베이션 시작 안내가 엘리베이터에 있었음 길건너서부터 아케이드가 시작되어 걸어서 기온역까지 약간 다리아프게 갈 수 있는 거리(올땐 버스) 직원들은 친절했음 코인란도리가 없음 1층에 무료 컴퓨터 있음 현지인들이 많이 묵는 것으로 보임 저녁에 로비나 엘리베이터가 시끌시끌 했으나 방까지 시끄럽진 않았으니 패스

시조역에서 내리면 도보 1분도 안 걸려 도착하는 거리에 있기 때문에 이용하기 매우 편리합니다. 1층에는 로비와 곧바로 연결되는 스타벅스도 있기 때문에 여유를 즐기기에 좋습니다. 하지만 직원들은 친절하다기 보다는 다소 딱딱한 느낌입니다. 일본은 편의점 아르바이트생조차도 엄청나게 친절하다는 느낌을 받았는데 오히려 이 비싼 호텔의 직원들은 좀 무뚝뚝하다는 인상을 받았습니다. 하지만 개인적인 느낌일 수도 있는 부분이고, 호텔 이용에 불편함을 끼칠 정도는 아니므로 괜찮습니다. 객실은 내가 조명 켜는 방법을 모른건지 원래 천장에 등이 없는 건지, 스위치란 스위치를 다 켜도 원하는 만큼 객실이 밝아지지 않는 것이 조금 불만이었습니다. […] 거울에 설치된 작은 등과, 침대 머리맡에 설치된 스탠드까지 다 키고 생활해야 했습니다. 또한 바닥의 카펫트에는 전의 투숙객이 묻혔을 것이 분명한 국물자국같은 것이 그대로 남아 있어서 청결하다는 느낌을 받기가 힘들었습니다. 또한 객실 크기에 비해 화장실은 굉장히 작은 편이었고, 이 호텔에 머물기 전 머물었던 호텔은 이 곳보다 가격이 절반에 불과했지만 매일 입용제를 챙겨주는 센스를 보여주어 소소한 감동이 있었는데 이 곳은 그런 점이 없다는 것이 조금 아쉬웠습니다. 한 마디로, "가격이 가격이니만큼 좋은 위치에 넓은 객실을 대여해주겠지만 그 이상의 서비스는 바라지 말라"는 느낌이었습니다. 만약 다른 사람이 이 호텔을 이용한다면 말리지도 않고, 추천해주지도 않겠습니다. 한 마디로 그저 그런 호텔입니다. 더 보기

일단 교토역에서 A1구역에서 5번 버스 타고 금방 갔구요. 호텔 주변에 버스 노선이 잘 되있어서 500앤짜리 버스원데이프리패스로 정말 잘 다녔어요. 아라시야마 갈때도 호텔 바로 앞에 버스정거장이 있어서 한번에 편하게 갔습니다. 객실은 청결하고 침대나 수건이나 상태 좋았구요. 8월 중슨이라 완전 더울때 갔는데 에어컨도 미리 켜져있고 친절하고 넓고 직원들도 친철해서 기분좋게 여행했습니다.

전체적으로 조용하고 편안한 호텔이였습니다. 싱글로 예약을 했지만, 더블로 방을 주셔서 넓게 사용했습니다. 리셉셔니스트들도 어느정도 영어를 구사하니 체크인,아웃하는데는 무리가 없을겁니다. 호텔정문 앞이 공사중이였는데 여러분이 방문하실때는 더 깔끔하게 완료되어있으리라 생각됩니다. 쇼핑거리와는 버스 1정거장 거리이고, 시조역와 가리스마역이 바로 앞에 있어 이동에도 굉장한 이점이 있는 호텔입니다. 주변에 고속도로나 시끄러운 유흥가가 없어 아침부터 밤까지 조용합니다. 고급호텔이 아닌 바에야 일본의 호텔들은 다 비슷하더군요. 세면대 겸 욕실은 생각만큼 좁습니다.(유일한 단점이죠.)

On one hand, this hotel is in a good location in Kyoto. On the other hand, the room was too cramped to actually fit my suitcase anywhere without it being in the way; the using the shower involved a complicated procedure of threading the curtain between the sink, the soap despenser, and the light; and I didn't get a good sleep the whole time I was there […] due to the bed being so hard, the stuffing from the pollow jabbing me, the clock built into the bed being too bright, and being able to hear everything from up stares at night - including bathroom breaks. 더 보기

A nice hotel with superb service located in a quiet neighborhood, less than 3 mins walk from subway station. Many restaurants and shopping nearby, all within walking distance. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location and easy to go. Hotel stafff are very nice and helpful, guest room is very clean althrough small size. Room rate is very reasonable. Just walk 10 mins to reach Gion and shopping areas.

Karasuma Kyoto Hotel is very centrally located in the downtown area of Kyoto. We booked a standard twin at a great hotels.com rate and upgraded to a renovated double room at the hotel for not a lot more. The hotel is walking distance from most of the attractions close to the mail shopping street including Gion (our favourite area) and many temples. […] We caught the train to Osaka, 40 minutes, from the subway station directly below the hotel and caught the nearby buses to all of the main tourist areas. The 500 yen 1 day bus pass is excellent value as single trips cost 220 yen and you may need to take 10 trips in a day of sightseeing. We ate in excellent restaurants near the hotel and stocked up on snacks at the nearby convenience store. The JP ATM on the top floor of Daimaru Department Store near by helped with cash and souvenir shopping. We have stayed in other Hotels and Ryokans in Kyoto but we found this to be a superior experience considering the price, position and spacious room. 더 보기

We recently stayed at the Karasuma Kyoto Hotel in a twin room. A very good location - only two subway stops from the main Kyoto train station, and very close to the centre of Kyoto itself. The rooms are of a typical Japanese size (smaller than western standards) and could do with some modernization but are perfectly acceptable for the price. Booked this hotel for our first time to Kyoto and was not disappointed. Location is very convenient (within 1 block from the subway) and walking distance to many department stores and restaurants. The hotel is very near to the exit 4 of Shijo station(2 stops from Kyoto station) on the subway which is also linked to the Karasuma station. that makes traveling around the city pretty convenient. there are also buses near the hotel to bring you to various sight-seeing locations. simply ask the hotel staff and they will be more than happy to help! the […] room is nice, warm and cosy. although the room is small but it is sufficient. the bathroom is very small but it is kept very clean everyday. the only drawback is that there is only japanese language channels available on the tv to watch. 더 보기

This was a very good hotel to stay at for the price considering how expensive things are in Kyoto and Japan overall. The service was great and I would stay there again.

besides room is too small even for a single person,there is nothing I would complain and their front desk personnel are the best....best. bus and subway are right at hotel front, what else you would like for foreign city stay......

This place is very central in Kyoto, and within walking distance of the Gion area, and various markets and shopping areas. It's only a couple of stops from Kyoto station, and all the main temples and attractions are only a few subway or rail stops away. excellent location and helpful staff.

The Karasuma was in a great location - 20 minute walk to Gion and the surrounding area, and the metro is less than 5 minutes away. The room was small but clean, and the staff were very helpful.

The room I stayed at was a small general business hotel room. But taking the location, facilities, services into account, it was a great deal overall. Internet connection was wired in the room with comfortable speed.

This Hotel is cheap (Considering i paid almost the same price for a 4 bed shared room in a hostel in Sydney), is pretty close to the Kyoto Station, Is clean, has english speaking staff, had a convenient breakfast buffet(pricey though) ,wasn't noisey, was close to Nishiki Market and Ponto-cho(although if your visiting any temples in the Kyoto rent a […] bike walking is out of the question). The attentiveness of the desk staff, including recognizing me and having the room key ready was impressive. The rooms were typical business hotel size, but clean and well attended to each day. Good HOTEL

This is a wonderful hotel. I went to Kyoto specifically for the Gio Matsuri and I could not have asked for a better hotel. The location was perfect. I came out of the hotel right into the middle of the action. It is only a 5 minute walk from the Shjio stop on the subway which was very convenient. Also, the staff were wonderful. I speak little Japanese […] but it did not matter. Nearly all of the staff spoke wonderful English. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto. I am very happy with this hotel. Affordable, clean, recently refurbished with modern style room (14th fl), and is linked to Shijo subway (the exit direct to the hotel has a lift for those with suitcases). Has starbuck right in front of the hotel including a cake shop with delicious icecream cone! One little thing is they do not have wifi, but as hotel […] guest you can use the internet for free (10 mins) in front of the Hotel reception desk. From the hotel, you can cross the road, and there are 3 busses all going directly to Kyoto Station. I used the bus mainly to explore Kyoto (around Higashiyama and Gion area) and the bus stop is just at the intersection between Karasuma St (where the hotel is) and Shijo Dori.. Perfect! You can find a long strecth of shops (daimaru) , takashimaya, etcand food along Shijodori, and if you feel like walking you can even continue walking to the river and cross over to Gion. The hotel has all the amenities you need, including hairdryer, comb, toothbrush, hot water kettle, fridge, complimentary tea,etc. If i visit Kyoto again and if hotels.com has special good rates again, I will stay at this hotel again for sure! 더 보기

I reached the hotel before the stipulated check-in time which was 2pm but I was allowed to proceed with check in and go to my room. The front desk staff was really friendly and made me feel very comfortable staying there. Room was the usual standard Japanese size and was well kept. However, the air-con seems to be capped at a certain temperature as […] even when I asked the staff to check the AC and they have change and clean the filter, it just doesn't get cold enough. This hotel is very near to the Shijo Subway station which is just across the street. Also near to shopping places like Daimaru, Takashimaya and Teramachi and of cos the very famous Nishiki food market. Overall, this hotel is recommendable for travellers to Kyoto. 더 보기

No point in staying in much more expensive hotels in Kyoto and the location is great!

Good hotel, polite and helping staff and good location. Well connected to Kyoto station, Shopping area as well as the main tourist destinations, if one chooses to use public transport. Overall - good hotel at a reasonable price.

Booked the single room and it was small, but comfortable. It was just me so there was plenty of space. The shower however was also small and cramped -- only downside. The location was convenient; easy access to train stations and sightseeing locations.

We were very happy to stay at the Karasuma Kyoto, the staff was helpful and the location is nice. Close to the subway, and the shopping streets are just around the corner. The room was ok, the interior is a bit dated but comfortable and clean.

10mns walk to gion area, 2 mns walk to tube/train station, 25mns walk to kyoto main train station, very convenient, in main street when u go back to train station on gojo dori street, left next to mac do u have 2 cheap restaurant for teishoku-full japanese meals, less than 900 yens !!! trust me its good :), bus stops for any attractions in suburbs of […] kyoto at 3mns walk, ask reception they give little map. very nice and professional personel there. great place great deals with hotels.com as well !!!! 더 보기

Good location - close to major shopping centres. Very small bathroom - but typical of Japanese hotels. Close to major bus routes - which is probably the easiest way to see the major sites. But beware - Japanese buses can get very crowded at peak times

I stayed here for 1 night. The Starbucks next door was a treat. However, do not use the TV entertainment which you have to pay for. It's very hard to use and contains ancient titles which I've never heard of before. Also difficult to get it to work in English and not Japanese. The staff wasn't very helpful when I asked about restaurants nearby. After […] travelling for some time I just wanted to watch telly and relax a bit, however watching TV was uncomfortable because I only had 1 pillow to lean my head on. This place was convenient and decently sized, but kinda gross. The hotel was in a good location with a Starbucks next door and the rooms were larger than expected, which was nice. However, the rooms were pretty dingy for what they were. All of the air vents in the hotel were covered in mold, as well as the bathroom. It was gross having to smell it […] each morning. The bathroom feels like a trailer home bathroom. They literally just slid a bath in there, and it's tiny...the sink will bump you while you're in the shower. I wish I were kidding. This hotel has a serious problem with mold. We actually had to have maintenance wipe down the air vent on the first day because there was too much mold for air to even come out. All in all, it was an ok place to stay but if I ever decided to come back to Kyoto, I probably would try to find somewhere else. By the way, if you do choose to stay here, the best way to get there from Kyoto station is by taking the local metro to shijo station. It drops you off right there, and only costs 210 yen. Don't try to walk. the map on the web site makes it look like it's only a short walk, but it's deceiving. Take the subway. 더 보기

The hotel is good--very much like a standard business hotel. The staff is very friendly. The location is near the activities center of Kyoto--near Karasuma and Shijo "dori" (streets), about a third of a mile west of Karawamachi (sp?)--the epicencter of night-time activities in Kyoto--with lots of restaurants. There is upscale shopping on Shijo between […] Karasuma and Karawamachi streets. The hotel is adjacent to the N-S subway line Shijo station and not too far from bus stops on Shijo. (Note, there are a lot of busses on Shijo including several going to major tourist sites such as the Golden Pavilion and the Silver Pavilion--but the stops for various busses are not all in the same location, so one needs to scout out where a particular bus stops. Further, the stops can be more than a block from the listed intersection--e.g, both east and west of Karasuma.) 더 보기

Just two underground stops from Kyoto JR station and just 15 minutes from Gion. Perfect location, reasonable priced and great service.

Getting to the Karasuma Kyoto was easy (walking distance from the station); the staff helpful; there was an excellent and inexpensive restaurant up the stairs next door; the bed was comfortable enough; access to places I wanted to be also easy. I loved the location, right in front of south exit of the subway. Kyoto does not have much subway network so you might be wasting money to ride two stops from the subway, but the buses are just as terrible, because of the volume of the traffic. I would like the Kyoto station area but all the reasonably priced hotels were sold out. This hotel looks great […] at the lobby but you will be disappointed when you get to the room. I got a smoking room on 14th floor because they didn't have a non-smoking room for a bigger bed for two. We left the window open for three days and it still smelled strongly of smoke. And maybe because it's a smoking room, it was very dirty looking. But the bathroom was clean but very small. The biggest problem is that the mattress is really bad. I could not lay down on the side because my rib cage was feeling the spring in the mattress. After all day of walking around in Kyoto a good night sleep is necessary... Although all the shortcomings, I would still recommend this hotel simply because the lack of good priced hotels in Kyoto, and it's location. 더 보기

仕事で様々なホテルを利用していますが、部屋は狭い方だと思います。立地、環境、スタッフの対応など総合すると居心地良いホテルでした。

地點非常便利，唯獨入口不明顯，就在星巴克旁邊，卻很容易錯過。單人房很迷你，若只是過夜休息就很OK。

もともとシングルで予約していましたが、ルームキーをいただく際に「お広くお使いください。」と声をかけられました。 おや、と思いましたが、部屋に入るとツインでした。 シングルでも十分満足できる性格ですが、やはりこのように配慮してくださると嬉しいものです。 立地も四条駅からすぐなので、とっても便利。 また、ホテルの1階にスターバックスがあるので、部屋でくつろぐ時間が豊かになります。
