There is no doubt that the magnificent view from the balcony of each room is the key feature of the Bar Harbor Inn, and let's face it, that beautiful water is why you go to Bar Harbor! The rooms themselves are comfortable enough, but could use some updating. The bathroom has the ubiquitous shower-in-bath, which I think is inexcusable anywhere - who […] wants to bath where everyone else has stood to shower, certainly I wouldn't want my children to! Speaking of children, my rating for room comfort has suffered because of the thin walls, the Inn may be family friendly, but the walls are not - we were woken at 6 a.m each morning we were there by the rumble of children running around the room next door, then the shrieks of said children yelling at each other, when the parents put them out on the balcony - presumably for their own comfort, certainly not ours! The Inn is within easy walking distance of Main Street and all of its shops and restaurants (be aware, though, many are only open 'in Season', which is from late May to October.) The Reading Room Restaurant is wonderful and open for breakfast and Dinner off season (the Terrace Grill is closing off season and there are very few lunch options off season.) 더 보기

Have stayed there many times and love it each time!

We had an oceanview room.. it was amazing the breakfast was phenomenal. Great staff perfect location.

Great location. Room was smaller than was portrayed on the website. Trash under the bed upon arrival. Wifi had many problems connecting throughout the weekend. If you're tall you will have trouble in the shower. I'm 5'11" and the shower head was at my upper chest. Still all minor in scope. Got room for good price and it's a great location. The hotel is in a great locartion and you can see the harbor from any room. The staff were great, responding to our request of a pack and play. The Library Restaurant on site was good. That being said, our sofa had a layer of dust, hair and crumbs from previous users on it. The carper, bed spread, curtains and wallpaper was reminiscent of an old, faded […] Bed and Breakfast that was in dire need of updating. Extreme off season rates and a wonderful buffet-style continental breakfast with dinning room a few yards from Frenchman's Bay. Oh yes, the temperatures were unseasonably 80 degrees. Except for the quiet day and Acadia being mostly closed, we had a great time.

Very good winter rates, convenient location. check-out took too long, over 1/2 hour.

Stayed here just before Thanksgiving. Inn is beautiful and location by the ocean is spectacular. This time of year, they are getting ready to shut down for winter; restaurant and lounge weren't open. When we drove up to the Inn. It was amazing. First thing you see is the oceanfront and how calm the location is. It was a getaway with my honey and it was a nice break from the city for sure. Reasonably price, nice and clean room and lovely staff

We arrived at the hotel a little before specified check-in time after driving in the snow and windy condition. The young lady at the reception was not very friendly/helpful saying we have to come back later and sent us back into a freezing afternoon. The hotel was about less than 50% occupied, however she was adamant that the allocation of the room […] was not decided. Lovely hotel, beautiful ocean views, good breakfast, close to everything in Bar Harbor. Didn't want to leave!

After making reservations at what we thought was the best hotel in Bar Harbour, we were thoroughly disappointed with almost every aspect of our stay at the Bar Harbour Inn. Admittedly we chose one of the lower priced rooms, which was expensive enough, it was little better than an average roadside motel. The hotel took the money for one nights stay from […] my credit card even before we left the UK for our holiday. Then the remainding cost of our four night stay was debited from my credit card immediately I checked in. When I complained about this, the seemingly disinterested reception desk clerk told me it was usual policy. I have stayed at numerous hotels and motels in the USA and Canada but this was the first (and last) time this has happened, I pay or sign off my bill by credit card at the end of my stay. Our sheets on the bed were not changed at all during our stay despite a notice stating they would be every other day. Beware if you are a smoker, there is a No Smoking policy throughout the hotel and decks outside the rooms. On previous visits to Bar Harbour we have enjoyed the hotels we stayed at, but certainly not this time and I doubt we will visit Bar Harbour ever again. 더 보기

We stayed for three nights and had a great time. The location is superb and everything is within walking distance - we loved Geddys as a place to eat - relaxed and chilled sports bar kind of place. Bar Harbor Inn was comfortable and quiet - the Newport rooms are a lot better than they look on line and are not quite so dated as the picture appears. The inn is right on the water and a block's walk from the center of town. The service, including maid service. was uniformly excellent. My only disappointment was the condition for the furniture in the room, which was a litte ratty and dated (and not in a quaint, charming way). Love the Bar Harbor Inn. Centraly located next to everything, with a nice walking path right in front of the hotel. Rooms are very nice with a great contentintal breakfast. Been there four years in a row and will probably go back next year!

The Inn is situated on the water but shops and reataurants are just steps away.

My husband and I stayed last weekend. The Inn was very nice but our bed was a little too firm. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean which was the best. Even though it was chilly the view was gorgeous, the sea wall walk was worth it. Most of the stores were closed but the homemade ice cream was delicious on Main Street. Our room had an ocean view that was beautiful.March is a quiet time for the area so we had fun driving around town and sight seeing.I would definitely go again..

We loved our stay at the Bar harbor Inn! Beautiful hotel, friendly and accomodating staff, lovely spacious room, stunning location overlooking the ocean, Very good coffee in the lobby, a great breakfast with a view of the sunrise over the ocean. This was an exceptional hotel for the price. The room was nice the complimemtary breakfast was above the average "Continental." The resturarnt and bar were very nice and the food was good.
