Close to Comerica Park at a resonable price

It was not the most new hotel or too terribly clean in the halls but the room was good the price was good the best was comfy and the people where friendly. I really liked that the hotel had controlled access and gated parking with cameras.

It is what it is Situated on a neglected industrial area.. The room was clean and the furniture etc was good. but no a/c or opening windows in the whole place.The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a restricted secure parking compound which helped to reassure me.I was able to watch the car in the compound on the TV in the room. It is close […] to some well known eateries such as Joe Lewis and Slows BBQ restaurants.and a brisk walk to Downtown Detroit, although you walk through some dire areas! (Would not suggest doing this after dark). Continuous free coffee available by the front desk 24/7, but no food available in house,not even breakfast, but Burger king within sight to start the day. We stated at the corktown inn on st pattys day. The staff was friendly and the motel was in a cool area of Detroit. The cleanliness of the room was not so great. There was hair all over our toilet and the towels were wrinkled like they just picked them up from the ground and hung them back up....oh yeah and the soap in the shower had what looked like […] a bite taken out if it. It is a Transient Hotel. The rates are very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. I didn't see anything bad while staying there. Stayed there one night to see the Blackhawks play the Redwings and it served its purpose just fine.

There is a freezer behind the ghetto glass enclosed reservation desk offering Corn Dogs for 75 cents. You won't find that at a 4 star hotel. They also have their old furniture for sale in the lobby- I almost got a table for $10 but flew on a budget airline that would have killed me with weight and size restrictions (most items were in the $60 dollar […] range) So if you like a flea market vibe and aren't afraid of less wealthy areas- it is for you- not a flea bag- just kind of run down. I have stayed in worse. The bed was pretty small - a full? They called it a single. And there may be corn dog crumbs in it now. I was hungry and drunk and the nearby BK was too scary a walk. 더 보기

Not very clean, the towels didn't look clean, would not stay their again. stay 2 nights and could get in my room the second night. walls are paper line.

the Hotel was in a terrible part of town, the parking lot had an iron fence all the way around and you needed a card to get in the gate. The room was small by comparison to any I've ever stayed in and very hard to find room. The towels were threadbare and they didn't even make the bed. My room was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was very quiet. I was a little disconcerted with the glass covering at reception counter, the lock at the front door, and the gated parking area. It made me feel that it isn't a safe neighborhood. Beware of the maids. If you leave food in your room that they like, such as pistachios, they will help themselves to some. It happened to me. I was really disgusted by that. They changed the towels and garbage but didn't make the beds. The TV had static. How do you have static in your cable. Hospitality at this hotel is not good at all. The hotel was close to where I needed to be, a good price, the room was reasonably clean, and the bed was comfortable. WIFI, but no desk. The lobby, hallways, and elevators are dirty and in poor condition, like you'd expect to find in a slum. Elevator also in poor condition, and very slow, I usually used the stairs. Not remotely a two-star hotel.

Room was sufficient for a few hours of sleep.

The only reason I would recommend this hotel is its great location. Other than that, the inside condition is the worst I've ever seen. But for only one night, it is ok for this price. PS. you'd better bring your own towel!

The Room had stains on walls and carpet NOT CLEAN AT ALL. Smelled bad and dirty. This is the kind of place you might rent Hourly. We were only in room 5 hours and that was 4 hours and 59 minutes too long. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE.

Read all the reviews prior to staying and was a bit worried. I have stayed in hotels around the world, from cheap to very expensive. A nice come back in the 70's. If you don't have many expectations and come back just for one night or two...it can do it. You'll be certainly very impressed by the carpet full of big flowers...or it's just me and this a normal kind of decoration in American hotels. Other than that the service was good.

I was very apprehensive to book this hotel at first, but with the Tigers playing the Indians that went out the window. The man at the front desk was very polite and pleasant. They were extremely busy, but he checked us in very promptly. Our room was very clean and fresh. Don't expect Hilton comforts, but I slept like a baby and never felt grossed out. […] No odors, bugs, or any other random things. The rooms are on the small side, but for the price and location (1.5miles from Comerica Park) I would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel. Very nice, clean, comfortable hotel. Surrounding area is sketchy. Hotel has numerous security measures and cameras around the parking lot- felt safe inside.

My wife and I stayed for ten very hot days in Detroit. The reviews we read about Corktown Inn when planning our vacation were mixed so we booked only four nights stay in advance to retain the possibility to relocate. After the initial four days we however decided to stay for another six days at the hotel. It is simple (as you would imagine from the […] price) but clean and close to downtown. it's nice hotel in this low price!

Very comfy, spacious room with great a/c, good bathroom, good TV, clean enough. Some overnight noise from neighboring rooms. The common areas of the hotel are a bit feral, as is the car park. Fourth time staying here was almost disappointed with the 1st room they put me in due to no AC, but they upgrade me to a Jacuzzi Suites with no extra charge.

The price and the receptionist from the Check Republic were good.The night time receptionist was rude and mean spirited and did not like white people in the least and was not afraid to show it.How she is still employed is a complete mystery to me.The day time people seem to care about the place.The non stop streaming porn on Channel 35 was disturbing […] to me.Not really into watching amauture porn that looks as if it was shot in the hotel,maybe a white couple once an hour would be a nice change. 더 보기

Well I guess it worth the money I paid. There is only d noisy air condition device and you cannot open the windows. It smells smoke everywhere. The comfort and cleanliness are ok and the receptionist is very nice. One night stop ok.... Not 2.

not perfekt but okay for a few days, nice and helpful staff.

It's not the Ritz, but the hotel was more than half the price of the convention hotels downtown, and only a 15 minute walk to the COBO Center where my conference was. You might feel uncomfortable making the walk at night; there are a few sections where there is little lighting, but a cab is just a few bucks. When I was looking for a hotel I read many reviews. Corktown Inn had mixed reviews. They all said the location was a problem. I just want it on the record that Detroit as a whole has a deserted feeling. The room and hallways were smelling like cigarettes. There was a cigarette left in one of the ashtrays in our room even though we didn't request a smoking room. It was late so we didn't want to mess around with room changes but my clothes that I slept in smelled like cigarettes in the next morning. Hotel wasn't in a good section of town. You have to hit a buzzer for the front desk to let you into the building, and his desk is behind bullet proof glass. You park your car in a gated lot that has concertina wire across the top of the back fence. Place felt like a prison. Room was small and not very clean. Wife said the sheets were dirty, so we slept […] on top of the blanket and under the coverlet instead. Hotel hallways smelled of smoke and was even more intense in the elevator. Our room was "non-smoking", but had an ashtray in it... TV remote was missing batteries. No complementary breakfast, but you can get a free cup of coffee up near the front desk. Vendo machines sell toothpaste, razors, soap, shampoo, underwear, condoms, and disposable cameras (to "capture the moment", I guess...). Other machines sell more food-like items, like vienna sausages, beans and franks, or fast microwave meals. You don't have a microwave in your room though, so I guess you eat it cold. I felt more like I was in prison, than in a hotel room. But, my car was unmolested in the morning, as were we, so I guess it was survivable. 더 보기

A phenomenal experience at Cork Town Inn. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great motel for the price and the location.
