살보 호텔 상하이 (Salvo Hotel Shanghai) - 상하이

2호선 남경동루역에서 가까우면서도 저렴하고 시설이 좋은 호텔을 찾다보니 SALVO 호텔이 가장 적절하였다. 그러나 실제로는 남경동루역에서 걸어서 5분정도로 꽤 멀었으며, 걷는 보행로가 인도가 따로 분리되지 않아서 여행가방을 들고 가기는 다소 힘들었다. 택시를 이용하는 경우도 많으므로 지하철역과의 거리는 썩 중요한 문제가 아닐 수도 있다. Business suite twin 룸에 묵었는데, 객실은 거실이 따로 분리되어 있어서 매우 넓은 편이었다. 그러나 욕실의 경우 변기의 수압이 낮은편이었고 샤워기의 수압도 낮았다. 게다가 욕조의 경우 물이 잘 배수가 되지 않았다. 뭔가 하수구가 막힌 듯이. house keeping에 연락을 […] 했지만 전혀 보수가 되지 않았다. 1박당 조식쿠폰이 2장이 나오는데 조식은 31층의 식당에서 한다. 비교적 메뉴의 다양성과 음식맛은 양호하였다. 식당의 테이블도 넓은 편이었고 전망은 시내전망이지만 뭐..그래도 높은 층에서 아침을 먹는 것도 기분이 유쾌하다. 첫날 호텔 도착하면 1층 프론트 데스크에서 바로 31층 Executive floor desk로 올려보낸다. 31층에서 .check in .수속을 하는 것이다. Hotels.com에서 예약한 경우는 31층에서 check in을 한다고 하였다. 호텔은 물론 최신 호텔도 아니고 소위 말하는 브랜드 호텔도 아니지만 가격대비 상당한 장점이 있은 호텔이다. 주요 관광지와의 거리도 택시요금 15 위안에서 30 위안 사이로 모두 이동할 수 있다. 그리고 가까운 곳에 Family Mart가 있어서 필요한 맥주나 간식등을 살 수가 있고 난징동루역 바로 옆에 McDonald가 있으므로 간식 사먹기도 편하다. 더 보기

낡고 서비스 엉망 위치는 나쁘지 않지만, 주변환경이 안좋고 부페식당도 3일 내내 같은 메뉴만 나옴. 맛은 중간품질 정도임 단지 가격이 저렴하는것이 그나마 위안

전반적으로 좋은 편입니다. 그런데 지도상의 위치가 애매해서 찾는 데 오래 걸렸습니다. 중심으로 나가기에도 걷기에는 멀고 택시타기에는 가까웠습니다. 호텔 시설면은 괜찮은 편이지만 상하이를 처음 방문하신다면 좀 더 시내에 가까운 호텔에 묵으시는 편이 좋을 듯 하네요.

Location is good. Distance to metro station is close, but about 10 mins to Waitan. You have to look the location carefully. The map which hotels.com provides is not correct. You may better check on Google Map with the address. Waitan view was also good, but slightly limited due to Westin Hotel in front.

호텔룸이 거의 스위트룸 수준인데 비해 가격도 싸고 특히 호텔방에서 바라본 황포강의 야경은 거의 환상이었습니다.

This is a good value hotel for what you are paying for. It is close to The Bund and People's Square so it depends what you want. Most attractions are a taxi ride but at a couple of $'s each taxi ride it is not unreasonable. The king business rooms are large, bedroom and lounge with a good bathroom with bath and shower. The appearance of the breakfast was unappetizing. There were overcooked eggs and rotten bananas on display. the coffee was cold, the omellettes were oily and the service was not very good.

Stayed two nights at the Hotel. Overall, the stay was pleasant. Room was big but quite old. TV is CRT (not LCD). View from room was good minus the dirty window. Better view from buffet restaurant on 31st floor. Wifi available in lobby and breakfast area.

Great location -- walk to the Bund and Yu Gardens. Traditional Asian decor in room; large room (we were in a suite of some sort). Breakfast was only so-so but free! Great value for the money; would stay at again!

This Hotel exceeded my expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The room was very spacious, clean and had every amenitiy I needed (including an umbrella which came in handy). The staff were friendly and usually helpful, and the location was very good with about 10 minutes walk to the Bund and slightly further to the Peoples Square. The Breakfast […] was good although I found the hot dishes to be luke warm at best, As mentioned in previous reviews there is no wifi but my room was provided with a computer which was fine to access emails etc, yes it was slow but after speaking to some people who have lived in Shanghai the slow speed of the internet is normal here. We were very surprised and happy to walk into the Salvo Hotel lobby and be welcomed by the staff. Our room was excellent. We spent four wonderful days and found the hotel to be an incredible value and in a great location.

I really love this hotel and every time I'm in shanghai I try to stay there. I always get a business executive room as they are really comfortable. The only down side is the lack of english channels (apart from news) on the tv.

Very few changes in breakfast menu on a day-to-day basis, Also, mostly 60's music played in the dining room.

Exceeded my expectations of offering for the cost of the rooms and the location is very close to major sites. I'll be back!

This hotel is at a great location, right in the middle of Everything you could want to see! About 5 minutes walk to the bund, 15 minutes walk to the old city and 15 minutes walk to Nanjing Road! Very good location for most things and within walking distance for many. Older style Hotel but very comfy and with all comforts and wifi in rooms. Staff very helpful, and food in both restaurants good with average prices. Would stay here again, and recommend as a good all-round base.

Big rooms, but office area/couch area is pretty useless because there are no windows, so to dark. Facilities OK. Breakfast only OK. Service is fine though. We had a cheap executive suite for 3 days. The room is spacious, the bed comfortable and the view great. Local area is interesting with some nice, cheap restaurants and it's not too far to walk to the metro and East Nanjing Road. The furnishings are an awkward mix of Ming and modern. Breakfast buffet was OK but food sometimes cold.

Tyhis hotel is so cheesey inside I can't stand it. The only real positive thing I can say is the location was good.. Walking distance to the bund, and people's square and E Najin Rd (Subway). So if you are on;y getting a place to sleep and don't plan on spending any real time in your room I guess you can do it. My room was a little musty but my travel companions wasn't. I should have asked for an alternate. Great location for a great price. Limited to no wifi -- only hard wire which doesn't work with iPad. I bought a Chinese router and solved problem $15. Wish I brought one from home.

Great breakfast. Convenient location and good price.

Convenient location. Comfortable beds. The view was magnificent - the entire skyline of Shanghai across to the Bund. As with the hotel in Beijing - the towels are a bit thin and rough. The shower was difficult to operate and the stopper in the tub didn't function but other than that it was very nice. Luxurious room, excellent location (close to Bund)!

A very convenient hotel within walking distance to the Bund, Nanjing Street and Peoples Square. English is spoken by some staff.

This hotel was close to must-see sights, shopping streets, the Bund and metro stations. Clean rooms and good service, amazing views of the Oriental Pearl. Would definately stay there again if lucky enough to visit Shanghai again in the future.

Some staff very rude, service not good for a so called 4 star - no way near western 4 star. Otherwise, nice room, good location and value for money.

The location is really quite close to The Bund area, only 4-5 blocks away. The neighborhood is quiet, with not a lot going on right around, but things are close enough it is not inconvenient. The room was 2 room suite (bought the upgrade) and it was very spacious for Shanghai with nice setting area and work desk. Good location and value.

Location is conveniently located and close to all the tourist attractions. Hotel staff is very friendly. Internet access is free. The only negative is the Hotel is hard to find because of the one way street. You have to go around and around if you do not know the way.

I just stay for 1 night on 18 Aug 11 in a business king suite. The room is really big and the king bed is soft and comfortable. I am impressed by the branded "Grohe shower system", gives me a wonderful time bathing. The room decor is oriental, so is everywhere in the hotel. My stay is peaceful and quiet, unlike other hotels where they can be noisy. […] I paid a really economical price for it. The room furnishings smell a bit stale though, but it's ok to me as I am out sightseeing most of the time. Location wise, it is great as it is very close to The Bund and Nanjing Road Shopping Street. The free breakfast at 31st floor is of average quality in terms of variety and taste. Great view though. The hotel staff I met are generally helpful and cheerful. Just beware of the pimps and callgirls that stakeout at night at the hotel entrance, pestering you non-stop once they target you. Just ignore them and walk away. The rooms we had were executive rooms, large well kitted out, new and spotless all with a great view. Everything worked well, comfortable bed, good breaklfast and helpfull staff. The location is perfect, an easy walk from Nanjing Rd East Metro and good for the Bund. Also easy access to roads to and from the airport.

We stayed at the Salvo Hotel for a total of 9 nights, booked into an Executive King-size Business suite. I was very satisfied with the room which was comfortable and well kitted out with handy little extras like an umbrella and even an adaptor plug! Cleaning staff were attentive and efficient. Breakfast (included) was basic but there was always a good selection available. Location is very central for sightseeing and close to the metro station. This hotel offers a fantastic central location for foreigners. Near metro stations, shopping, YuYuan Gardens. Everything is close enough to walk to. They also have enough staff that speak enough English to help you at all times. Of course be aware that Chinese culture is a little different and staff here are Chinese, so if you are looking for a Western […] style hotel this comes close enough but my not have absolutely every amenity that you want. However, that said, it's really accommodating in all the ways that you need. The breakfast spread is great with both western options and some local food too. They will even negotiate with a taxi driver if you want them too. (I've never seen a driver that speaks any English more than one or two words.) The knowledge of English at the reception desk could have been better. The staff had some problems in understanding and answering my requests and questions. The "western" breakfast was not very good for beeing at a four star restaurant. The boiled eggs were green, the cheese was uneatable and the selection of "western" items/food was quite limited.

Overall it's a pretty good hotel, but personally I would give it a 3.5 star instead of 4 as it claimed. Hotel food and services (e.g. massages) are on the expensive side. Service at the Western restaurant was not remarkable, as consistent with most of the restaurant services in Shanghai. The hotel is convenient, close to all amenities. I took the Business Executive Suite for litle more than the standard room rates. it was a very large 2 room suite with a very large work area including a computer / monitor they provided. The location is great if you need to be in CBD or near the Bund. Would / will stay there again.

For the amount I payed for this hotel, you can't get a better deal. Great suite, wonderful breakfast and a location 5 minutes from Nanjing Road. I payed double this last year at a crown plaza, and the Salvo is in a much better area and you get a suite. I can't figure out why this is not a 5 star hotel, IT SHOULD BE! Most interesting thing about this hotel: If you arrive late at night (around 1:30am) you will find the lights off, no one in the lobby and the door unlocked! Anyone could walk into this place and take the elevator anywhere in the hotel and no-one would notice!!!

The standard room that was allocated upon arrival was too small and was effectively a single room with two beds and we had to climb over the beds to get to the bathroom because there was no room for luagge or wardrobe space to unpack for two people. We had been travelling for nine weeks and had experienced nineteen other hotels through the USA and Europe. The level of accomodation provided to us at Salvo was superior to anything else we encountered. We had booked a double room and were provided with a King exec. suite with separate lounge and meeting room, full time free WiFi on their computor, […] two TV's and a full sized separate bathroom including a huge spar tub. The price paid was exceptionally cheap,The restraunt food offered was very ordinary, the only negative was having booked a wake up call for an early departing flight it did not happen.
