We liked this place; only downsides are that the pool is small and the breakfast could be a bit better. There is a great (simple) Jamaican place to eat out the front gate and down to the left a couple of hundred yards on the right.

Mata Rocks Resort is a small facility nestled between two larger sites. There is a small secluded beach and a dock. The rooms on the second level are light and airy with balconies and with kitchenette, microwave and refrigerator. First level rooms by the small swimming pool seemed smaller and darker than those on the second floor. The location is about […] 1.5 miles from the center of San Pedro. There's not much of a neighborhood around the hotel--a few local restaurants, and two other resorts with restaurants. MR has no restaurant and serves only a modest continental breakfast at the outdoor bar. The setting is very pleasant and tranquil. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned daily. Transport into San Pedro is either by golf cart (pricey hourly or daily rental rates; the prevailing rate in the area) or by taxi (very cheap); taxis are usually waiting outside the gate or cruise by, or the staff will call for one. The ride is about 10 minutes over the cobblestone road. The staff at MR is very nice and accommodating. They will arrange tours and handle all kinds of needs. Our main issues with the room were lack of good reading lights and a trickly shower. Bar prices are reasonable and they make a great rum punch. 더 보기

As we had never been to Ambergris Caye before, we were overwhelmed by the hotel options. We chose Mata Rocks based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. We wanted a small, quiet, clean place by the water where we could simply relax. Mata Rocks provided just that. The rooms were basic, but clean and certainly more than sufficient for our needs. […] The grounds were well maintained. The pool was small, but as we were right on the ocean, we didn't care. I believe all rooms face the ocean, so we slept with our windows open and enjoyed the sound of the waves each night. There is no restaurant on the premises, but there is a beach bar which kindly closes at 10 pm (much appreciated, as it helped to keep the environment very quiet and calm). There is a great restaurant next door and several fantastic restaurants a short walk down the beach. Plenty of hot water, comfortable beds, refrigerators in each room, ceiling fans and a/c...what else? We couldn't have had a more relaxing time at Mata Rocks. Our snorkeling guides picked up/dropped off right from the pier behind Mata Rocks. A pleasant 20 minute stroll down the beach to San Pedro town. Just spent a week in Belize at Mata Rocks. Rooms very clean and neat, loved the Squirrel's Nest, try the Mata Colada for dessert! Beds very comfortable, always had plenty of hot water. Staff was great, very helpful in scheduling snorkeling and Maya Ruin trips. Free taxi to and from the hotel upon arrival and departure. Besides all the great upkeep on this place and service from the long standing staff (some have 10 yrs), I was most impressed talking to the people staying there. Most (like 80%) of guests were 'return' guests meaning they had been there before. One couple was on their 4th trip in 5 years. If you like the idea of very relaxing and peaceful beach setting that is about 1 mile from the crazy downtown San Pedro...this is where you want to be!! The rooms were fantastic and very updated and new. Not much room though, very small rooms, but literally 15 feet from the sand on the beach!! Excellent views and wonderful breeze and outside bar is […] always open for convenience. Not a children hotel. Dont bring the kids, they will not be happy and you wont either. It is very peaceful and definitely a mature and adult oriented place. Can go snorkeling on barrier reef and the people come pick you up off your private dock at this hotel. Free bicycles until 6pm every day. Excellent Hotel!!!! Will definitely be coming back to this resort. Definitely tell all your friends about it. Very good price for the features and experience! 더 보기

Nice hotel. Looks like Greece. Fun bar at the hotel. Good restaurants within walking distance.

El hotel esta chiquito pero muy bonito, el servicio es excelente, y aun que no hay restaurante el servicio del bar es bueno. Para ir con la familia es una buena opcion.
