I am a single business traveler and stayed in one of the Budget rooms which they advertise on their website to single travelers because of its smaller size. I saw a few reviews by couples complaining of the small size which means they were going for the cheap price and not reading the room description. Had a tiny room for two - bed was adequate for one. There was necessity for plumbing service, which was provided immediately, but with anger and hostile attitude of the manager. Getting to the room on the second floor necessitated using a steep, outside (slippery when wet), and unsafe staircase. Elderly people should be warned.

This cottage was inexpensive. They were clean. But they were right on the main highway, the picture was a bit deceiving about that. They are older. So, you get what you pay for.

This is something we always did on vacation as kids, stayed in these little cabins that usually had small bathrooms and maybe slanted a little one way or the other. The ground freezes in the winter and always causes the foundation to shift. Some hoity toitys will book these and then be put off by the above mentioned items, but I embrace them. I looked […] at all the cabin lodging in this area and they are all located on Route 3 so traffic noise is an issue with all of them. I brought my earplugs, but I also needed them in Boston at a high class hotel due to overlooking the highway. All in all Maine is a rustic state and I look forward to my visits back to it with anticipation. My cabin was kept very clean and the quilt on the bed was of high quality as was the mattress. Stayed 2 nights at this little establishment as it is close to Acadia National park, Atlantic brewing Company, and only a few miles from Bar Harbor. We stayed in the motel area, the rooms were small and nicely painted, with outdated bathrooms, wonderful and new a/c units and flat screen TV. The linens were nice and everything was extremely clean and […] comfortable. Noise from the traffic and the next room was a concern at check in, but was easily drowned out by the fan. Only downfall was hot water, I didn't have any the 1st day, and it ran out during my shower the 2nd. Looks to be a Mom-and-Pop operation, so no frills that you would find a chain hotel. The staff is knowledgeable of the area, and happy to answer questions and hot coffee and pastries are available in the office mornings. It is a really clean and comfy place, especially for the price. Very comfortable and reasonably priced accomadations only a few miles from a beautiful national Park.

This is a very old, poorly constructed motel. The price is fairly low but not worth what we paid. I would look for another place in the Bar Harbor area.

We really loved the private separate cottages. Ours was very clean and had great housekeeping services. The room was a little small, but had everything we needed including a frig and microwave. So it was perfect for going to Acadia and seeing the nearby countryside. We bought food at the local grocery and took off for the day. When we returned our room […] was all fresh for us to enjoy. There is not much to do right around the hotel and the highway is quite busy until later in the night, but the location and cost made it a great stay for us. For the price these little cottages are a bargain so close to Bar Harbor--where nothing is cheap, or even moderate. Friendly staff, great lobster poind across the road, and it's right at the bridge to Mt. Desert Island/Bar Harbor (about 9 miles to the town). Expect to pay about twice this on the island. It's a cute little room, neat and clean. The shower place is too tight but still acceptable. It offers easy breakfast, break and coffee. Excellent price for the location and room. You have to realize this is a family own/run motel and not a chain motel so don't expect the trappings of a corporate run joint. The person checking you in will be the same person you see out mowing the grass later. I believe our mattress and TV were newer but the dresser was older, shower was small. I have stayed here before and find everything clean and the owners are very pleasant. The only complaint I have is the driveway. We travels on Motorcycles and it is loose rocks. Kind of difficult, but we were able to use shuttle and had a great stay.

This place had good reviews, I got what I anticipated. A family run place, working hard to do their best to keep guests happy and barely make ends meet. If you are a Hilton Hotel type demanding a hot breakfast, top of the line linens and furniture, then book elsewhere. They don't offer a lot of variety for breakfast but they aren't a restaurant either, so I have no issue with their breakfast despite other reviewers. One reviewer mentioned they could have stayed at the Hampton Inn for a few more dollars a day for a better breakfast, I found the price of the Hampton to be over double the price of Isleview when we checked and I don't think I want to spend that for breakfast plus the extra driving distance into Ellsworth farther away from the park. 더 보기

We had a nice chat with the owner at check in when we asked where we could run for a bite to eat at 8:30 pm (not too many options) This place is a mom and pop, so it has the minimum maid service during your stay of making your beds, replacing your towels and emptying your trash, which is fine with me, Breakfast has large bagels with cream cheese and […] pastries and muffins. The owner mentioned that she might discontinue breakfast because everybody wants something different all the time and complains online. I found it to be quite filling myself but I'm sure you can't please them all. We just enjoyed the last 4 days here. Really close to the park. All the cottages have so many flowers planted all around. The owners were always out and about taking care of the property, mowing, painting, landscaping. This is an older property but they are maintaining it well. I choose this motel based on the reviews online - they all states this as a great place to stay. The host at the reception was very cold and spoke the bare minimum - just showed us the amount due at check in and that's it. The rooms were neat but clearly showing signs of age. There were no toiletries present the first day (they were placed subsequently). […] The beds were not comfortable and were sink holes in the middle. The breakfast was extremely frugal - a single loaf of bread that is replaced only upon request and with a blank stare if that while you wait for the host to come and attend to your request - you are made to feel very unwelcome with a request. There is no juice - its sunny D. There is no water at the breakfast table , no eggs , no yoghurt. Just muffins, bread, sunny D, coffee and thats it. Everyone has to squeeze into or around one table that seats only 4. The price we paid for this we would have been easily staying in the Hampton Inn with a few more dollars a day. This is at best an OK place to stay , but do not expect much except a lot of warnings about what you will be charged for . Also, the bathroom was not cleaned everyday just superficially wiped and the sheets were not changed. Nice little cottage, they also have motel rooms. Housekeeping was efficient. I believe they might do away with the breakfast next year according to the owner. I would still book here for the price, breakfast doesn't make or break it.

My husband and I like to read at night and there are only 2 straight back chairs in the room. The rooms are small but I do think a small upolstered chair would be more comfortable. The mattress was very comfortable. Breakfast of large bagel, cream cheese and muffins were availabe as well as juice and coffee. Stayed here for one night only. This small cozy cabin had a brand new queen mattress (I checked the tag!) . Each cabin has hanging baskets of flowers and the owner Lynn was busy planting more flowers around my cabin while I was there, very pretty and English Tea Cottage like. I like Mom & Pop places because you can smell the fabric softener in the sheets! The room had a nice new large flat screen tv on the wall that moved to any angle you wanted. The owner gave us great ideas for places to go and visit and to dine. This is an older motel unit but they keep it clean.

It is very convenient to the Acadia, and we enjoyed staying in a cottage. The double beds (with two people) tended to slope to the outside. Traffic noises didn't bother us much, and the manager was helpful.

Little cramped and the beds not the greatest. Value for money though.

Great Service and Friendly atmosphere. The hostess was extremely helpful. The only complaint is that it's located next to a big road, which makes it kinda loud at night. But everything else was great.

We liked the location of this family run business. It is 8 miles past Ellsworth and situated just prior to Mt. Desert Island. This was half the price of hotels in Ellsworth and staying here got us just that much closer to going into the park every day. The main road is busy during the day but tapers off at night, we ran our A/C unit on the fan setting […] for background noise and we were fine. There was a space heater that kept us cozy. Their office closes at 9:00 pm at night so you need to let them know if your are going to arrive after that to get your key. 더 보기

I don't stay at quaint cabins and expect a breakfast to rival the chain hotels and I never complain about free food! I saw one guest leave with 4 bagels stuffed in her purse so I can imagine how difficult it is to run a small place like this on a cost level. Our cabin was quite charming and very clean and was provided with new towels, soap and shampoo every day. The cabins are older yet equipped with a fridge, microwave and had great Wifi which always had a strong signal. The location is situated right before entering Mt. Desert Island. This is a very small family motel, and I was happily surprised that they served breakfast at all. We stayed here in Sept 2010. Overall rating would be "ok", not great. Would not recommend. > Property is on the busy street connecting Ellsworth and Acadia. We paid under 90.00 for this smallish but not tiny room in a busy period, Labor Day weekend for one night. This is a room in the section of four rooms connected to each other located on the far left side of the property. Room was clean and practical, shower stall a bit small for most. TV was very vintage and small. Traffic makes the room quite noisy, […] although it calms down at night. Price and convenience would be the main draws. The breakfast was pretty good. Coffee in room was provided - but there was not enough creamer for three people! The mini refrigerator is a nice touch. I liked it that the owner agreed with my desire to go to the Atlantic Brewery saying that it was rated "#5" of Breweries in the united states, and we had a fantastic time there! 더 보기

Our room was very very clean & the owner's extremely hospitable. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay w/ no worries, make your reservation here. The continental breakfast was quite good w/ veggies etc. and coffee, fresh tea was provided.The flat screen television was perfect and the bed comfortable. This is a great place to stay.

Room was large enough for two people. Bed was comfortable. Ample space for hanging clothes. Shower was small but doable. No table to work at. Owner was very helpful in directing us to various places.
