Newport Bay Club and Hotel - 뉴포트

The location can't be beat. I guess that's where the money goes. However, the view from our balcony was a dumpster and the bed linens had hairs on them (both beds). The walls are very thin and you can hear people in their rooms on both sides.

- Great location yet the service was awful. Unfriendly, interrupted when you asked questions, and rude when you asked for advice. Also, for the expensive I would have thought the linens would have been upgraded. The pillows were awfully lumpy and old. It's an old building so the windows have not been updated which allows the nighttime noise of area […] to penetrate. Would not recommend this hotel. 더 보기

This hotel was in the heart of Newport. Retaurants and shopping all within walking distance. A great place to stay.

Great hotel location and decent rooms for the price. Don't underestimate the noise issue, though. We are accustomed to city noise and not typically bothered. This hotel has a club in the basement with a live band. You can feel the base vibrate through the entire room and the band went strong until 1:00 a.m. even on Sunday night. My only complaint was that we found hair on our bed pillows and crumbs on the sofa. Other than those couple little "yuck" moments the hotel was nice and the location was perfect.

I never write reviews but this time I felt I needed to, especially with what it cost to stay here. Very disappointed in this hotel! Staff at the front desk was not very friendly! When our card did not work to lift the gate after many attempts I sent my son inside to get a new one, he came back out with the old one and said the women said to try it again […] and hold it in the machine longer. This was pure laziness on her part but we tried it again. (of coarse it did not work) I then went in myself and told her we need a new card, at that point I received a new one that worked. It was difficult to sleep with all the noise from the club below us. Bed sheets were old and called for new ones to be put on the bed because there were hairs on them on them when I pulled back the covers and on the pillow case as well. When I called to have them replaced I was asked if I wanted to put them on myself or did I want her to do it. I felt it was a question I should never had been even asked but I said I would help her put them on. Room was for 4 but bathroom towel for 2. When checking out no one asked how everything was, perhaps they've heard too many complaints already to bother. 더 보기

We have a particular fondness for this hotel as we stayed there on our honeymoon 10 years ago. The location is wonderful; central to Thames St shopping, great restaurants, and the harbor. We also appreciate the size of the rooms as they are all mini suites with seperate bedrooms, a living area, and small kitchen. I would suggest that hotel consider […] renovating as the decor is a bit dated. The kitchen seemed to have been redone recently, but the sofa, bed, dining furniture, etc were older. Although the hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient, I would not recommend this hotel. Reason? On the ground floor of the building sits the hotel bar and restaurant...live music until 1:00PM every night! The counters in the kitchen vibrated from the bass! The location of this hotel is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff at front desk were nice. Problem is the club in the basement- not affiliated with hotel. I was there Tuesday & Wednesday and Tuesday was fine- Wednesday was a rap concert in the club. Loud bass- swear words- lovely. I couldnt sleep because of noise. Music ended at 1 […] am. If you are in Newport just for fun and no sleep isn't an issue- this is a great place. If you need to awake early and be productive- stay elsewhere. 더 보기

Great place to stay if you're looking for a two bedroom suite.

The lobby is small and the staff not the fastest but the room size was very generous and the location unparalleled. Get there early for the Breakfast as is goes fast and not all that well stocked,.

you can't beat the location, but the service is NOT THERE. No service at all. Not one friendly person on staff. No food/beverages for the "contin. breakfst", that was a joke. We were assured that the hotel and our room in particular were handicapped accessible--very important as my father was traveling with us. The only way to access the bathroom and bedroom is up a spiral staircase! The only way to access the hotel from the parking areas is up stairs (no elevator without climbing the stairs). The hotel room we had was a two bedroom, two bath and faced the street. The street was very noisy until well past midnight. The beds were very good. The kitchen well equipped. The TV was outdated and did not work well. The breakfast was minimal - did not even have cold cereal. Well below the Hampton standard. Overall, not a good value.
