When we arrived the front desk were very helpful telling us about areas we should visit and the best shopping destinations and eateries. The bathrooms are a bit strange, but nothing to complain about too much! Have stayed here twice, will stay again!

Whilst seemingly in a central location it is not excactly near anywhere if you are unable to walk any distance. Trams are required to get around. We were dissappointed that when we checked in for two nights we were not told that there would not be any room servicing unless requested on the second day as it was on a publicholiday. the hotel is reasonably good in terms of its location and rate. it's spacious and comfortable bed. the only problems are that we are from Singapore and we do not have the kind of adapter which need to be use in Australian , so we tried to borrow from the hotel reception and for 3 days , they failed to get us any and said it has all be loan out, telling […] us we should get it ourselves. i think for a big hotel like this and i believe it's common to have such problems , the management should have one for every room. i know this isn't a big issue as in the end we did bought one from nearby malls , but this shows how much this hotel cares and took note on customers need. i hope the management should be more mindful about this problems. overall it's still an affordable place to stay in. 더 보기

My family greatly enjyed our stay in this hotel. the rooms were spacious and well set out. The staff who cleaned our room did a magnificent job by making our room neat while still leaving our stuff where it was when we left. Small touches like the the filter jug in the fridge was greatly appreciated. The pool was great and we will stay there again

Great value for money, and the service was excellent. Views from my room onto the Yarra River and train track provided a great focal point. I booked 2 nights and wished I had stayed longer. A colleague also booked her stay here and when she realised she didn't have the great view I had, hotel management very quickly relocated her to a room with a similar […] view. 더 보기

Good customer service, great location for CBD and good a leisurely walk to the Melbourne Convention Centre along Southbank (weather permitting). Clean rooms, just found the 2 single beds pushed together for a "big" one a little uncomfortable.

A very average hotel for 4 star. Location is great - walk/tram distance to everything. Very large rooms. Facilities are average. Decor is average. Unfortunately the bar next door spilled over into the hotel entrance at night - which was quiet unappealing.

Excellent stay in a spacious studio room for three nights. Very clean and comfortable. Small walk (4mins) from the Bourke St mall. Very happy

Conveniently located. We booked a studio apartment, but the room had a separate bedroom, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. It was very quiet. The reception staff were very helpful.

Good location and value with spacious apartment rooms. Staff could have been more helpful when we wanted to book a taxi to the airport.

We have stayed at this property on several occasions and are very happy with the spacious room and kitchenette. Rooms have always been clean and we enjoy the pool and spa. The location is within easy walking distance of both Flinders and Southern cross railway stations and has trams running nearby. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

It's a close walk to everything and also just one block from the free tourist shuttle stop. Great furnishings, wonderful gym and pool area. Elevators were a little slow, weekend restaurant hours were spotty, and internet was too expensive, otherwise perfect.

great hotel - very nice and highly recommended

Room was noisy due to maybe an air conditioning vibration and we had to request a change of room which was very annoying and took some arguing with staff regarding costs as they wanted to charge a room cleaning fee for their unsatisfactory room

WE enjoyed a particularly fine one room appartment on 16th floor with great views over city.

The location can't be beat at this price, thankfully a couple of blocks away from the rowdy pubs and bars on Elizabeth, but close enough to Flinders & Collins street for shopping. Close to tram stations and Southern Cross railway station. The hotel rooms are fully equipped with a microwave and kitchenette set including cutlery. There was a public coin […] operated launderette in the basement. The room was big, with a queen bed, two seat sofa, coffee table, work desk and work chair. Good sized bathroom. Our stay at oaks was like breath of fresh air . the location right in the middle of the city . with 2 steps of collins st in to market st.The welcome staff just great Knowing what we needed .The room to spread out and be comfortable,with appointment in room we required . Staff are friendly and helpful. Room we had (studio i think) was a good size, with small kitchen area included. Bed was very comfy. Aircon worlks well. TV reception was a little fuzzy on some channels. Room was serviced regularly over our 4 night stay. Overall very good value, and excellent location. Will stay there again.

We went there during the week and received a stunning room; 21st floor overlooking Melbourne (Yarra river, Eurika Tower). The room appeared to be brand new (studio room with micro, oven, pots&pans etc.). Hotel had a pool, hot tub, sauna and cardio/weight room, just don't expect massive gym. It's bare necessities. The Oaks on Market is the perfect place to stay in central Melbourne. We spent 5 nights at the Oaks for a friend's wedding. It was very conveniently located - only 5-10 minutes walk from all the shops and Chinatown and restaurants. Also a 5 - 7 minute walk from Southern Cross Station, where there is a large shopping complex as well. The room itself […] is large and spacious and clean. It's temperature controlled so always perfectly cool or warm and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We also had great 180 views from the 16th floor and the kitchenette saved us some money rather than eating out every meal (which can be expensive in Melbourne). We had fantastic views of Southbank and the Crowne Casino with its fire show. The hotel had a great gym which we used briefly and a lovely swimming pool - indoor and heated. The only complaint I had was that the room service menu was incorrect. I chose something from the menu and when I rang to order it I was told that for the "holidays", there was an alternative menu, which strangely enough had much more expensive dishes. Other than that, it really was the perfect place to stay in central Melbourne's CBD - convenient, affordable and comfortable. 더 보기

I booked a queen-sized studio apartment for 9 nights. Check-in was a breeze - i was forewarned about the $150 deposit, let's see if i get it back within the week -, reception gave me my card and up i went. The studio apartment was nice, very nice! i got a room with a view of the Yarra River and south wharf - the gas fireballs that occured on the hour […] just outside Crown Casino was a bit alarming at first. My jip was about the queen bed - it was two singles zipped up, and the single on the left sagged and squeaked whenever you sat on it. Highly unimpressed. Housekeeping was lovely - although, they kept leaving fresh towels - despite the sticker on the mirror saying "to help us reduce pollution in our waterways - please hang up towels you wish to reuse". I always had a new towel - which really isn't a complaint - but is it really necessary to have a new hand towel, face towel and bath towel each night?. Reception was very helpful when asked about certain restaurants - a restaurant was suggested to me and i asked Reception where it was, one member of staff was kind enough to look it up for me and give me a map showing where it was. The indoor pool was nice - could've been a little more heated and a little less chlorinated, but a nice pool. Overall - it was fine, except for the bed!!! It definately wasn't worth the average nightly cost of 9 nights just because of that pseudo-queen bed. Next time, i'll book earlier for a normal double bedded studio apartment. 더 보기

Very satisfactory. This establishment is excellent value. We have stayed there 3 times now. The hotel staff even enabled us to take advantage of an early check in. Great pool/spa., but cannot open room windows for 'fresh' air...eeek!

Very conveniently located to shops, trams and eateries. The staff were friendly and obliging, the room was clean and comfortable. Our studio room had a well stocked kitchenette which enabled us to do some of our own cooking. Overall, this is highly recommended as a reasonably priced, well located hotel in the centre of Melbourne.

I had a studio apartment with some cooking facilities, which was really nice, although I didn't use them. The size of the room was just right. The placement of the furniture was just the way I liked it. The city scape from the window was wonderful, day and night. Windows were double glazed, so the room was very quiet. It was nice and affordable in the heart of Melbourne city and close to public transport and sight seeings.

Only quibbles: - the front stairs being tough to navigate with luggage - Internet is very expensive - airport shuttle didn't show for other guests as I was leaving (not hotel's fault), so they shared my taxi to the airport...unclear whether they would still be charged for the transfer - view from room was of office buildings...hardly a tourist draw...but […] for a large, functional room in a great location, this was good value 더 보기

This is a very good place to stay. The studio apartment was very spacious, good fittings and very comfortable. Great location. I stayed for a week and really enjoyed it.

This hotel was in a very convenient locatation. Walking distance to the casino and surrounding areas. Easy access to trams in all directions for sightseeing and shopping. Friendly helpful staff. Good handy eateries in surrounding area. Only downfall was that we were given the wheelchair friendly room which had an unusual bathroom set up. The studio room was perfectly adequate with a good firm queen bed, lovely pillows, nice clean bathroom, 2 seater leather couch and small dining table and 2 chairs. The kitchenette was small but once again perfectly adequate with hob and microwave. Not only are these apartments very handy to Flinders station and across the Yarra to Soutbank restaurants, […] but also a nice walk to the shopping district and cafes. Being there for the Rugby it was extremely close to Ethard stadium which was a big plus.Husband also enjoyed the pool and sauna facilities. The most pleasant suprise was just how quite the Oaks is (we stayed in room 203 ) despite being so close to the train station and a main road. We attribute this to Market street itself being so quiet. If there were any negatives they would be that we couldn't sit on the couch as we needed to store our suitcases on it and the view was pretty awful being only 2 stories up. Not being there that much it didn't really affect us though. Based on the notices in the foyer it is obvious many conferences and groups book here but it never affected us. Also there are far nicer breakfast offerings in the nearby backstreet cafes (which also happen to serve the best coffee in town!) but that would depend on whether you are into quality or quantity! If you are looking for a quite, clean, tidy and basic apartment that is close to most things in the city then we would highly recommend The Oaks on Market. If you are looking for a luxurious romantic getaway then perhaps not! 더 보기

The room was like a large studio apartment and was clean and modern, but stark. Don't expect an ironing board and iron or a coat closet, though. Check-in was watching three clerks talking on phones while I stood there looking stupid. They screwed up the 3 am wake up call that I needed to catch a 530 am flight, only calling me after the taxi had already […] arrived, adding dollars to my fare. HVAC only operates with your room key in the slot, so I found myself continually returning to a cold room. The Internet is very expensive. The cable didn't work, so I used the building's wireless internet, which charged $12 per hour. The restaurant is good. 더 보기
