Have stayed here couple times as good spot, reasonably priced, usually pleasant. But this time - room next to noisy lift, previous client airline passes still on table, something gooey on bedside lamp, tv in bedroom had poor picture quality and rust on bathroom floor looked like bloodstains/faeces. Disappointing experience.

The Oaks on Market was an excellent place to stay in Melbourne. The staff were always very accomodating and helpful. I arrived at 6am and check in wasn't supposed to be until 2pm, but they had the room ready and allowed me to go straight up. The room was large and comfortable and the location was a short stroll away from all the top inner city spots […] in Melbourne. I had expected good but got perfect. Only stayed one night, but the room was clean, comfortable, well decorated. Shower and bathroom worked well, I would stay here again if I come back to Melbourne.

the hotel is probably a block and a half from most things you would want to go to (shops, places to eat, etc) but is great value and very well fitted out. We had no noise problems, had a view of the eureka towers and found the room to be much bigger than expected.

Neighbourhood top class, location and condition of tbe hotel excellent. Enjoyable stay close to eateries , cafes and convenience stores.

Excellent value - we stayed in a one bedroom apartment with great view across Yarra and as far as the ocean. Very clean. A couple of blocks to tram stops on Flinders or Collins Street and an easy walk to CBD, Federation Square, Southbank. Plenty of cafes with excellent coffee close by. Would stay again.

I booked a room through Hotels.com, and when I arrived, Oaks actually arranged a big nice room with river view, I was happy. Then the toilet ceiling happened to leak, I rang reception, and a staff came up and said it was not a huge problem. But I insited to change room, so I got a new room on a higher level, but it was a smaller room with a smaller […] bed. We were exhausted and thought we would figure this out in the morning - THAT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE! In the morning and negotiated, and Oaks promised to rearrange a larger room with a King size bed. So, we got another new room. But surprisingly, the King size bed they promised was made up byzipping up two single beds togther, and even worse, they did not even apply a mattress protector over, we were sleeping on the trims of the mattress and was hurting and keeping us awake - THAT WAS CHRISTMAS! So I went down AGAIN in the morning, and finally got to talk to the supervisor. When I told her the situation I was in, she blamed housekeeping for not doing proper job as the housekeeping department was not a part of their team. And as I claimed for some sort of make up over and over, she finally agreed to offer us breakfast for the next morning, and that was ALL! I cannot imagine that experience would let me agree Oaks on Market performs as a 4 star hotel, as I am diappointed and would definitely not recommand a stay over there! 더 보기

BREAKFAST WAS DISSOPOINTINGLY COLD AND FINISHED AT 9.30 AM GENERALLY THE STAFF NOT FRIENDLY

Upon arrival and after checking in I went to my room and I couldn't get in because the card wasn't working. Same the next day. The staff was very helpful and helped me to sort this out. There's only one thing I didn't like of this hotel, the check out time... 10AM!! They woke me up at 9AM asking if I was going to leave the hotel at 10AM, I felt like […] they were kicking me out of the hotel and I didn't like that. Can't say enough. Best location! Beautiful Room! I had a room right near the elevators at first which I could hear, and the staff were so good, they moved me no problem! Beautiful, huge, lovely apartment, nice pool, sauna, good gym. The location is so perfect. Close to train, trams, awesome nightclub nearby and some great pubs (the Mitre). Comfortable, well located hotel with kitchen facilities. Friendly staff. Well located for acces to trains, trams , Southbank, Art Centre etc

it was too noisy from elevator through the night & it was very annoying for us

Good location but nothing else to recommend it. Reception poor with no luggage assistance. Room large but poor quality and inadequate furniture (only 3 drawers) Dark room with very poor lighting - No bedside lights. No instructions to facilities. Facilities very basic - as expected in budget hotel.

I thought the hotel and service was great. Reasonable price too. The gym and pool were very usable. Recommend it for a central stay in Melbourne.

very convenient location, very helpful and friendly stuff. The smell in my room was not very fresh. Furniture basic, bathroom needs a revamp. I don't know why this hotel has got 4 stars. It good,. but not outstanding. There are better Hotels than this.

Oaks on market, absolutely loved it, right in the city and great service will stay again...

For 4 star accommodation this was excellent value for money in a very good location. Will definitely stay again

Stayed here for 4 nights in Sept 2011. Really clean & tidy hotel with good room service. In the CBD just a short walk from all the main shopping centre. Worth the money you spend & i enjoyed my stay.

Kitchenette is actually usable - could cook a genuine meal. Only champagne glasses for wine - maybe says something. Excellent location. Quite comfortable, quiet. And despite the water saver notice in the bathroom they insist on changing your towels every day.

Staying for 11 days in a large comfortable studio with a fully functional kitchen was a lot of fun. The hotel is located within walking distance of many of Melbourne's museums, theatres and other landmarks. There are tons of bars and restaurants pretty much just outside the hotel's door. nice hotel great location to where we wanted to go but dissapointed with the buffet breakfast...

our stay five days bath room not cleaned properly towels toilet rolls soap sometimes !. Main room required vacume to be on when being used .thought sheets would have been changed . do not recommend a stay at this hotel for the price they are charging .spent 6weeks at the oaks in Brisbane and suggest management look at how they need to get the standard […] up in line with the rest of the chain 더 보기

Would definetely recommend this hotel, the staff were so friendly and accomodating - nothing was too much of an effort The location was perfect as we could walk to all the sights of Melbourne from our hotel

Lovely room, very spacious. Close to free tram & nice walk along river. Would definitely stay here again when in Melbourne

The only downside is that we were on the 3rd floor next to the dance club next door (northwestwest side) which was loud until late.

The Hotel Oaks on Market Street Melbourne CBD is in an excellent location,very close to all the shops,crown casino,restaurants and federation square where something is always going on.the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

there are no reading lamos in the hotel room and incredibly dull room lights making any rreading at all at night impossible. also the advertised gym actually only had 20% of its aerobic equipment functional so with 5 people queueing for its use it was a waste of time

When we arrived the front desk were very helpful telling us about areas we should visit and the best shopping destinations and eateries. The bathrooms are a bit strange, but nothing to complain about too much! Have stayed here twice, will stay again!

Whilst seemingly in a central location it is not excactly near anywhere if you are unable to walk any distance. Trams are required to get around. We were dissappointed that when we checked in for two nights we were not told that there would not be any room servicing unless requested on the second day as it was on a publicholiday. the hotel is reasonably good in terms of its location and rate. it's spacious and comfortable bed. the only problems are that we are from Singapore and we do not have the kind of adapter which need to be use in Australian , so we tried to borrow from the hotel reception and for 3 days , they failed to get us any and said it has all be loan out, telling […] us we should get it ourselves. i think for a big hotel like this and i believe it's common to have such problems , the management should have one for every room. i know this isn't a big issue as in the end we did bought one from nearby malls , but this shows how much this hotel cares and took note on customers need. i hope the management should be more mindful about this problems. overall it's still an affordable place to stay in. 더 보기

My family greatly enjyed our stay in this hotel. the rooms were spacious and well set out. The staff who cleaned our room did a magnificent job by making our room neat while still leaving our stuff where it was when we left. Small touches like the the filter jug in the fridge was greatly appreciated. The pool was great and we will stay there again

Great value for money, and the service was excellent. Views from my room onto the Yarra River and train track provided a great focal point. I booked 2 nights and wished I had stayed longer. A colleague also booked her stay here and when she realised she didn't have the great view I had, hotel management very quickly relocated her to a room with a similar […] view. 더 보기

Good customer service, great location for CBD and good a leisurely walk to the Melbourne Convention Centre along Southbank (weather permitting). Clean rooms, just found the 2 single beds pushed together for a "big" one a little uncomfortable.

A very average hotel for 4 star. Location is great - walk/tram distance to everything. Very large rooms. Facilities are average. Decor is average. Unfortunately the bar next door spilled over into the hotel entrance at night - which was quiet unappealing.
