I don't expect much more than a clean room and facilities from this area about an hour drive north of Orlando. Thankfully, the Comfort Inn in Tavares... fits the bill. I believe the building is relatively new (<10 years) and seems well-enough maintained. The salient points: room was cleaned daily, A/C worked well enough (though a bit loud), service was attentive enough when needed. This location on Hwy 441 works well for me. Clean towels were missing from my brother's room one day, but this didn't happen to me. The pool was not super clean, but good enough for a dip. I never partook of the "continental breakfast," but it was there on a daily basis. I did make use of the guest laundry facilities available on 2 floors, which was helpful. The only real downside for me was that the bed linens were mildly irritating, rough and overly bleached. I'd probably bring my own pillow cases next time.
