The hotel was very interesting in the venue that is was an old jail. Unfortunately the usage of the lobby as a night club was loud and annoying! After having dinner at the Clink where the food was good but the service was horrible, my husband and I took a walk out side and upon returning was card proof and waited in line to enter our hotel?? We have stayed for 3 night. All the people were very kind and room was very clear. T station of charles is just front of the hotel and also we was able to get the TD garden by walk only for 10 min. This is perfect hotel in Boston.

I might be too harsh in this review, as the hotel did give me everything I needed and expected. I was in town as a seller at a large convention, and all I wanted was a clean room, a comfortable bed and a bathroom equipped to wash away a hard day's work. This hotel provided all these things wonderfully. It was all the little "extras" that made this […] hotel entirely the wrong choice for me, personally. I returned to the hotel at 10pm after a 12-hour shift at the convention and had to wade through a crowd of drunk 20-somethings to get to the doors. Then I had to dig out my room key card and show it to a bouncer to get in the front door because there are FOUR nightclubs in the lobby. After I finally got inside I did more wading through the nightclub crowd while listening to a brass band and three different dance club DJs, which were headache-inducingly awful to have to listen to all at once. When I had checked in earlier that day the man at the desk was friendly, polite and knowledgeable. He said the room came with a complimentary glass of champagne as a welcome, something I found so extravagant it made me laugh. Still, he didn't seem elitist about the offer or my giggly decline. In the evening, however, my customer service experience was not as good. I checked out the room service menu and it was a bit too expensive (but what hotel's room service isnt?) and limited, so I decided I would rather do something simple like order a pizza or some Chinese food. I want down to the front desk and asked for delivery menus. A man with an accent (British I think) looked at me like I was crazy, like he'd never heard the term "delivery menu" before. I figured he just couldn't hear me over all the music (after all, I could still faintly hear it from the 8th floor) so I yelled it again. He said: "Oh, like room service" and I replied "No, delivery from... somewhere else. That ISN'T the hotel." but he continued to look at me like he'd never heard of such a thing. The only draw-back we had was the disco music on the thursday night & a rock band on the Friday night, in the lobby, a little bit noisy. Great location for the "T".

Strongly recommend this hotel to any one who's looking for the perfect combination of history, luxury, shopping and great dinning . Hotel staff is very attentive and friendly .

Beautiful hotel...very clean, very nice. Love the history. Every staff member was very friendly and helpful. Lobby does turn into a "club" later at night, which is a little weird, but did not affect our stay at all. Would highly recommend!

We stayed recently at the Liberty in Boston. The Hotels.com price was great! included parking and FREE Champagne upon arrival. The hotel is amazing visually and the nightlife is great! Alibi is a top notch nightlife destination! Also people party in the hotel lobby! I'll only stay here whenever I'm in town!

Was expecting near perfection from a luxury hotel...not: missing towels in room, 1 partially unmade bed prior to check in, and not being told about hotel amenities at check in such as, a complimentary glass of champagne but only if you check in after 10 am, complimentary Bloody Mary bar in the lobby on weekends, etc. Should've been told all these things […] at check in, instead had to figure them out on our own. Also, not sure all guests paying quite high rates for a luxury room will enjoy walking into a club atmosphere at night on the weekends - in the lobby of the hotel?! One has to literally walk through 'the club' to get to the elevators to your room. Waitress staff in lobby - appeared to feel 'put out' by doing their jobs serving guests. 더 보기

This hotel was great. Beautiful grounds, luxurious rooms, free internet access, good food and drink, unbelievable service as well. I mean c'mon, they offer complementary champagne when you check in. We relaxed in the lobby bar and had cocktails before heading to Alibi, which was a fun night spot. And maybe we just lucked out, but our room was ready […] when we arrived at 12pm and they let us check in early. Everyone was friendly and extremely accommodating. Excelllent customer service.

If you are in town for business and expect to check in early, or to chat aimlessly with boring chaps in tweed jackets all night, then change your plans. This hotel offers many tantilizing evening events, fashion shows, live bands which attract a very handsome, young, hip and very chic croud. Be ready to mix in !!!!

Truly remarkable service from all staff members. Very cool lobby, restaurants and bars - definitely a scene on the Thurs/Fri nights I was there. The rooms themselves are pretty far removed from this activity, however, and are perfectly quiet. The location is great - right on the T and easy to get to anywhere. Highly recommend

The Liberty is a sexy hotel for Boston. Minutes form MIT's campus and start up world this prison reinvented into a chic hotel caters to a the hip Boston crowd. Incredibly cool architecture including balconies and a circular lobby, a great bar scene more New York then Boston coming back in the evening I wished I had the energy to join the beautiful people […] sipping drinks. Kept up all night by a loose window that rattled loudly. A complete disaster of a stay. My wife had to sleep in the bathroom it was so loud.

Great hotel, service was fabulous. Plumbing was a problem. The shower took 5 mins to heat up (envioronmently not so friendly).

Fabulous! Great history, used to be Charles St Jail. Great dining. Near Famous Beacon Hill, Boston State House, Charles Street, Boston Common, North EndEasy access to Subway and a great walking city.

We stayed at the Liberty Hotel for 5 nights in January of 2012. A former prison, it's an interesting and well-designed hotel with good quality food and drink options. The rooms in the tower, where we stayed, are modern and well-furnished. Very comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, nicely furnished. The problems were small, but they matter in a luxury hotel. […] Towels are coarse and uncomfortable, as are the complimentary bathrobes. The sheets on the bed are also not soft, although the bed itself was very comfortable. Housekeeping services were surprisingly inconsistent with the small things, such as: no hand soap for the 1st two days of our stay, a shower cap, used on the second day, was never replaced, sometimes all of the used towels were replaced, other times not (though the old ones were taken away, so it's not like they were trying to conserve on laundry as some do) the bathmat went missing for a couple of days, one night the bed was turned down but the customary chocolates were missing, there was a nice selection for the mini-bar, but beers, tonics and wines required an opener which was not there. And, in a very tacky move, they leave a note on your bed asking if you would be willing to forego housekeeping services in the interest of conservation. If so, they give you a $5 gift card for their restaurants. They are not asking you to go easy on the towels, as some places do, re-hanging the ones you don't need exchanged in the interest of limiting water consumption and pollution from detergent. No, they are asking you to forego the whole service which is what you are paying their high rates FOR!These are little issues, but in my view, they are the kinds of things that differentiate a true "luxury" hotel. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. The area is very central, right across the street from the subway, and the valet/doormen are terrific, whether it's fetching your car, a forgotten item from the trunk, or hailing a cab, they were great. From the moment we drove up and having the valet assist us to the guest services person who offered us champagne upon check in, the Liberty is an excellent hotel that takes care of its guests. Dinner at the Clink was excellent.

This former prison turned high-end boutique hotel offers travelers a unique hotel experience in Boston. This is not your cookie-cutter hotel. The rooms contain all the best amenities including Molton Brown beauty treatments in the shower/bath. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend had a very bad cold and we had planned on exploring Boston in the early morning after checking our bags at the the bell desk before ahe became ill. So I called ahead to the front desk and told them my situation and if it would be possible to get my room early (around 9am). The Liberty held a room for us and let us check in way before 3pm […] so I could take care of her (it was about 21 degrees outside that day in Boston). So they were very accommodating. I eventually had to take her to the emergency room which was also convenient since Mass General is right next door. I have been coming to the Liberty since 2008 and if I stay in Boston it's an absolute must. Also Scampo is one of my favorite restaurants in the city as well. 더 보기

With the disorganization and disrespectof the hotel's staff you would think they have been open a week. I would strongly not recommend the Liberty Hotel. It was once a jail and still is haunted with bad service and a bad aura.

Great location. OK service. The wannabe-hip scene is a bit of a bore. The decor and furnishings look "hip" but cheaply made giving the overall feel of fake luxury.

Beautiful hotel. Special in so many ways. But my shower had no heat and no pressure. They sent someone right away, but I didn't have time in the morning to switch rooms... so cold shower it was. The staff was kind enough to make things right with some additional Starwood Points. So, will definitely stay again!

Went for the weekend to visit family. Never expected to try the hotel since it's usually priced more than I wish to spend on a simple personal trip. I got a great deal on this site so I went for it. The hotel is so unique due to its former life as a jail. They did a great job on converting it. It's quite upscale. All staff were charming and helpful. […] Location in Beacon Hill is cool; nice place to wander around. Right on the Red Line, too - so can get anywhere on the T if that's your thing. The room,service,restaurants were excellent. The staff were both helpful and pleasant. The unique preserved architecture were a bonus to our historic Boston stay.

A very cool idea, restoring an old jail that was well executed. The location was very convenient to the airport. The lounge is really cool with multiple dining options. Would definitely recommend.

We had an appointment at Mass General Hospital about 30 second walk. The hotel is well done and the service was great. We enjoyed the restaurants and the lobby bar. It was a fun stay.

My wife and I stayed yet again. This place is interesting, clean, quiet..unless you want fun, and then a quick trip to the atrium invites great cheer. Don't want to say too many good things, as i hope this remains an affordable, luxurious and well kept secret. Pet friendly is a big plus.
