We spent 3 nights at this hotel last week and were very pleased overall. The location is terrific: just a couple of blocks from the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, near restaurants and shopping, etc. Though the hotel is located on a busy square, our room (406) was absolutely silent because it was located under the eaves. My only complaint was […] that our room and the hallways were very dimly lit, making it hard to find clothing in our suitcases or put on makeup. I booked this hotel to stay 4 nights when we arived in Spain and for the 2 nights prior to our departure. We couldn't have had a more convenient location or more helpful staff. It's situated on the tree lined Plaza Indepencia and close to everything. The tourist bus, regular buses and taxis are constantly out the front. It is decorated beautifully - […] our room had a huge bath opposite 'french doors' that opened onto the street. Three floors up, we could enjoy the sounds of the street and leafy canapy of plane trees in complete privacy. Welcome drinks, friendly staff that were never to busy to help, and lots of interesting shops as well as the designer strip made this a really romantic and fun 'boutique style' hotel. The only negative thing was the overpriced breakfast that we simply avoided. There was a cafe 20m away for a cheap breakfast on the street or something midrange and prettier around the corner. 더 보기

I normally stay in bigger 5 star hotels so was not sure what to expect. Hospes was a gem! Such a cute hotel with charm and elegance. I loved the room, the big windows that open and the small details like providing comfy slippers. Very cozy and chic at the same time. Would def. stay there again.

Great city center location; warm contemporary decor and staff was welcoming, well trained and extremely helpful with sight and restaurant information. Only suggestion to hotel is to improve task lighting in the guest rooms, e.g., reading lamps and also to improve the wifi access in the lobby

Very nice boutique hotel, perfectly located in smart part of town to make most of Madrid's sights within walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff who booked me great restaurants. Delicious breakfast buffet was served in cozy and comfortable dining area. Rooms are stylish and contemporary while the room retained some nice period features. If you are looking for a great, modern, friendly hotel with an almost perfect location, this is it!!! Great breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff! Highly recommended. We also had a wonderful bike ride at the nearby Retiro Park! Don't miss that!

We couldn't have been happier with this hotel. The people that work there are a joy, so friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, next to Retiro Park, walking distance to the Prado, Thyseen, and a the Reina Sofia. Rooms were incredibly quiet. I loved the hotel and would have liked to have stayed much longer. The location is wonderful, the combination of contemporary and traditional decor creates a delightful ambience and the service and food are also to be commended. I would recommend both Madrid and this hotel. I plan to come back.

Rooms are big, spa is great, and the park ont the other side of the street was everything I needed.

Stayed a couple of times now. Very clean, great reception service, yummy breakfast, good location and the pick of the hotels I've tried so far in Madrid.

Stayed here at the tail end of trip. Would recommend it to anyone. Very comfortable, very clean.

Hospes Madrid is a quiet boutique hotel. Just seconds from a convenient Metro stop and steps away from Retiro Park, the hotel's location can't be beat. Staff was attentive and courteous. Would definitely stay there again.

Hôtel très bien situé puerta de Alacalà. Les chambres sur le devant de l'hôtel ont une très belle vue mais sont bruyantes. La déco est très réussie. Le personnel n'est pas toujours très aimable.

O local é bom, o quarto excelente, café da manhã muito bom, só que o hotel peca pela falta de funcionarios. Há momentos em que apenas uma pessoa atende telefone, recepciona hóspede, e é concierge, daí então a gente perde a paciência, afinal de contas este é um hotel supostamente de cinco estrelas. Como pode o hóspede sair arrastando malas num 5 estrelas […] ? Realmente é de perder a paciência. A decoração do hall também é muito fraca e o elevador demora muito a atender a chamada. 더 보기

Wunderbare Lage, sehr charmante Zimmer, guter Service ... einzig das Frühstück ist teuer, man kann aber nebenan mit den Madrilenen wesentlich günstiger frühstücken.

Hotelli Hospes Madrid sijaitsee pienen matkan päässä keskustasta. Kulkuyhteuydet keskustaan on kuitenkin hyvät ja vaihtoehtoisia kulkuvälineitä löytyy takseista metroon. Sijainti on melko vilkkaan liikennesolmun varrella, liikenteen melu ei kuitenkaan kantautunut ainakaan sisäpihan puolella olevaan huoneeseen. Aivan hotellin lähellä on Retiron puisto […] ja osa merkittävistä museoistakin on kävelymatkan päässä, lisäksi kalliimman luokan ostosmahdollisuuksia on aivan kulman takana. Hotellin yleistilat ovat varsin tyylikkäät, joskin niiden käyttöaste tuntui vaatimattomalta. Huonejärjestelyt talossa ovat ilmeisesti vaihtelevat. Käytössä olleen huoneen pohjaratkaisu oli varsin outo, plussana oli yleinen siisteys ja laadukkaat materiaalit, miinuksena wc-tila ilman allasta ja minkäänlaista äänieritystä sekä huoneeseen avoin, oveton amme/suihkutila. Huoneen äänieristys ei vastannut lähellekkään viiden tähden tasoa, äänet käytävästä kuuluivat esteettä ja yläpuolisen huoneen viemäri lotisi juuri vuoteen yläpuolella. Liikenteen melu ei sen sijaan kantautunut huoneeseen siäpihan puoleisen sijainnin vuoksi. Jonkinlainen musiikin jumputus kantautui huoneeseen, ehkä naapurikiinteistön ravintolasta. Aamupala oli varsin hyvää espanialaista tasoa. Henkilökunnan toiminta aamupalalla oli kohteliasta, joskin jäykkää. Aamupalaa oli mahdollisuutta nauttia myös ulkona (leveällä jalkakäytävällä/aukiolla) olevissa pöydissä. Hotellin muusta ravintolatoiminnasta ja spa-osastosta ei juurikaan kertynyt kokemuksia. Jotain pieniä kummallisuuksia oli huoneen luovutuksen kanssa. Viiteen tähteen ei Hospes ihan yltänyt, yksi tähti oli selvästi kadoksissa.... 더 보기

very nice people. Some rooms are extremely dark and barely have light. Internet connections are not always reliable (they tend to cut you off from time to time). The architect is probably very proud of himself, but there is no horizontal storage space for shirts, underwear, etc...in the rooms. So hang your pants and keep the rest in your suitcase.
