Attending conference in Charleston and the 'discounted' hotels were all sold out. Thank goodness they were. Got a better rate thru hotel.com and was absolutely delighted with John Rutledge House Inn. Will definitely be staying there again.

Very helpfull staff trying to accomodate all our needs. Beautiful breakfast! Big room for the four of us. Sound recomend it.

This classic home and now inn in itself is a history lesson. Hotel accomdations cannot compare to the experience of staying in an inn of known recorded history. No Ghosts were experienced.

A charming place to stay and very conveniently located. We walked to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner. We stayed in one of the garden rooms separate from the main building due to wanting to take our little dog. They have 2 rooms allowing a pet. It was perfect for us! They even had a "doggy bag" of goodies to welcome our Bichon. They went out […] of their way to show real southern hospitality. They even brought breakfast to our room. We felt quite at home and will return there next time we are in Charleston. 더 보기

We have stayed this hotel many times on our visits to Charleston. This was the first time we had a room in the newer carriage house section. I would not stay again unless I had a room in the main house. Here are my concerns: carpet on stairs dirty walls dirty carpet in our guest room stained and worn bathroom corners - dirty bathroom grout needs a scrubbing guest […] room had too much furniture - felt crowded security gate was left open grounds needed attention 더 보기

We had a fantastic stay here all the staff were so helpful the breakfast was gorgeous and changes daily . the room and public areas are very well maintained . the hotel is on a quieter road but within a block from shops restaurants and bars would def recommend the jrh

The room was very nice. The room was in the carriage house and worth the money I paid. The bed was great. I would like to go again and stay in one of the bigger rooms.

My husband and I were looking forward to our stay to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We took the train and arrived around 5:30AM. Being aware of the early hour, I phoned in advance to discuss the possiblity of checking in early and was told that if there was a room available, they would be able to let us check in at that time and since it was a weekday, […] it shouldn't be a problem. Well it was. We arrived and the front door was locked. We knocked a number of times and called and no one answered. We walked to a neighboring hotel about 4 blocks away with our luggage and they were continued to call for us. Finally, we talked to someone. When we arrived there the night auditor was so rude and at one point told us he "really didn't care what we were told" we were not checking in unless we wanted to pay an extra day for the room. Totally not what I was told. About 2 hours later and a different employee, very graciously checked us in with no additional charge. The other issues were no housekeeping on the second day we were there. We understood no service the day we checking in early but the second day? The sleeve of the robe was gross and dirty and the window leaked when it rained. Like really leaked. We asked them to call a cab about 15 minutes before we needed it and when we went to the front desk, the girl still hadnt' called them. There were some nice things. The bed was wonderful and the breakfasts were very good. A couple of the conceirge were very nice. One made dinner reservations for us and the restuarant gave us champagne for our anniversary. When we arrived back at our room, they had a bottle of champagne waiting ... again a nice gesture. Unfortunately, that was also the night of the rain and of putting on a dirty robe. There are many other nice places in the same area that were the same cost if not less. We will Not be staying here again....even with a good bed. 더 보기

Dieses B & B hat uns sehr gut gefallen: Die Lage war gut, es hat einen eigenen Parkplatz, der Concierge-Service war sehr hilfreich, die Inn-Besitzerin sehr sympathisch und auch hilfreich. Das Fruehstueck kann man an verschiedene Orte bestellen: ins Schlafzimmer, in den sog. Ballroom (Salon) oder in den Innenhof des Hotels. Fuer Letzteres war das Wetter […] zu heiss und feucht, so dass wir jeweils im Ballroom gegessen haben. Der Service gibt sich zwar Muehe, aber es gab wiederholt Dinge, die von der Bestellung vergessen wurden. Aber dies tat unseren Erfahrungen keinen Abbruch - sehr zu empfehlen! 더 보기
