I stayed here for two nights while at JMU for an alumni weekend. The hotel was clean and quiet. It's just a few blocks to the highway and plenty of food options. I'd stay here again when I return.

The hotel itself was good. The room was what I expected after reading reviews online. We are avid runners and usually can find decent places to run outside. However, if you take a left out of the parking lot and run towards the schools, be prepared to get a lung full of construction truck dust. However, once you get past there, the run is nice. I did […] use the gym at the hotel the next day and found it to be sufficient. The only thing is the laundry is in where the gym is so there is a bit of clean laundry smell, which is preferable over the construction dust :) Overall, I would stay at this hotel again as the hotel was clean and the people were friendly. We always stay in Candlewood Suites when we can. They're always well run, clean and nice. I love having a real kitchen. This one in particular was great. We'll be back for sure!

When we checked in, the A/C had been put on full blast. We tried to turn on the heat, but it continued to put out cold air. We turned on the emergency heat, but it smelled like cra_p. We complained to front desk, were told maintenance was on vacation and manager told front desk the heat was turned off. They also refused to give us another room(s). I would definitely recommend this hotel . Only thing they need to improve is to get some King Bed suites.

I was quite surprised when I arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but the air conditioner was not working properly. It was hard to control the room temperature. Other than this, I was very happy with my stay.

My husband, our 3 year old and I stayed at the Candle Woods Suite one night while visiting my sister in VA. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the room was very nice, clean and modern and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. They have a little kitchenette which is very convenient. They do have a country […] store onsite which they give you free voucers for cans of soda, however, just about everything in there was WAY overpriced.There is plenty to do in the area, lots of shops and restaurants. We booked this motel at a very good rate about a month before our stay. When we arrived we discovered that the non-smoking room we requested was a smoking room. I learned that I need to double-check with the hotel after ordering the room online to keep this from happening again. The only other problem was there was no shower curtain or towels. We were traveling for a one day event in Harrisonburg and needed a room for the night. I booked the Hotels.com internet special for this hotel a few days in advance. When we arrived the staff was extremely helpful and even changed our room without an upcharge. The room has its own kitchen, large bathroom, and comfortable Queen bed. The staff was super friendly. They called to make sure we had everything we needed. The facility was super clean and there was great attention to details. I loved the layout the room. The full sized fridge with icemaker, dishwasher, microwave, and stovetop double burner came in very handy, as did the laundry facility. A good value. Nicer, bigger, more secure, and a better value than expected for an economical travel stay. WIFI worked great. Plenty of food and shopping nearby. Clearly designed for longer stays. A lucky break for travelers.

Nice large room - pleasant reception (even though we didn't arrive until after midnight!). Very accommodating with our two dogs (huskey's).

As always, the Candlewood was an incredibly comfortable stay. I have stayed at this property multiple times in the past months and I could not recommend anywhere else in Harrisonburg. The location is great, it's always clean and comfortable in the room, and the staff is always very courteous and accommodating. This hotel was well above and beyond my expectations. The room was fantastic. It looked new, was clean, and the bed was very comfortable; as nice as any luxury room I've been in. I can't believe the great deal!

I was dubious, but this place lived up to all the glowing reports. We'd definitely go back and will recommend to friends. For gourmet dining (world class, truly) go to the Joshua Wilton House. This was a really nice hotel and the price was fantastic. The room had a full kitchen, full size fridge, and all the kitchen utensils you need. It had a standard hotel bathroom and a relatively small bed. The walls of the hotel were really thin and we could hear everything going on outside but luckily it was perfectly quiet at night. Overall our stay was wonderful. The service and rooms were clean and met our needs. I would definately stay there again. With a stove top, microwave and refridgerator in the room there wasn't a need for continental breakfast. Only bad thing if you want to consider it bad was since they didn't clean our rooms everyday our trash was getting full and made […] the room stink a little because we were there for three days. Everything about this hotel was great. Convenient to I-81. Plenty of restaraunts in the area. Clean hotel. Great service. Employee at the front desk was terrific..great guy. Very nice, friendly, and professional. They had DVD players in the rooms with plenty of movies to view at the front desk.

It was a great welcome and pleasant accomodations with comfort. The extra amenities were so nice too with small shop to purchase essentials. The Habitat for Humanity plaques around gave us reason to be thankful as we are also supporting that cause. We felt like we were in someone's home upon entering. everything was great except the towels in the bathroom. they felt like sandpaper. i mentioned this to the GM at checkout and he agreed with me and it seemed as though he was trying to get someone higher up to resolve it. The room was nice, clean, wtih a well equipped kitchen and very nice staff. overall a good experience.

Very nice for the price. There was a smoke smell in hall way leading to room, but room was surprisingly spacious, comfortable & equiped with kitchenette.

Great hotel...nice room, convient, wish I had needed to stay more than one night.

Hotel was perfect for our purposes. Very clean; convenient; comfortable. We were traveling with a large dog. They accommodated our request for a ground floor room near an exit door. Couldn't ask for more.

A great suite and friendly service. Also the best rates for our stay period after a thorough online search. Convenient location to city attractions! Plus some nice amenities. We'll be back.

The room was a very pleasant surprise. Everything we needed was already in the suite. It was neat and clean and the staff made us feel very welcome. We have already recommended this hotel to our friends and when in the Harrisonburg area, we will stay there.
