Agriculture is a growth industry in Riverhead. More than half of this area is devoted to produce farming. The North Fork region, northeast of Riverhead, has more than two-dozen vineyards. Wines such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and chardonnay are made locally. Riverhead’s other highlights include the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium and the Dinosaur Walk Museum.

"convenient for shopping or sightseeing"
Everything went fine. A late checkout allowed us to freshen up for the ride home to the city.

"Comfortable stay"
Comfortable bed, comfortable room. Good breakfast.
"Our stay at HIE, East long Island"
We had a good two-nighter at this HIE. Met all our needs: close to all the sites we wanted to visit, good restaurants in the general area, free breakfast buffet, free wifi and pet friendly. Room was basically comfortable except for the mushy pillows!

We've stayed here on several occasions because of family in the area. It is generally clean and convenient. However, at times the desk staff acts as if they are doing you a favor just for checking in. Last month I was billed again even though I prepaid through Hotel.com. OK, errors are made. When I called them, the woman I spoke to said I would have […] to call back because the manager wasn't there. She said there was no one there to credit my account. However, after my husband got on the phone to ask to speak to her supervisor , my account was adjusted. Not even an apology for the error or inconvenience. This last visit, Thanksgiving , we returned to the room in the evening and our room was not cleaned. Not a big deal but we needed fresh towels. Instead of just a simple sorry and we'll have some towels brought up, we were told it was our fault because we had a "privacy please" sign on the door earlier in the morning which we removed before we left the room at 11:30 AM. The woman my husband spoke was rude and almost argumentative. The hotel itself is fine, but the desk staff can be a bit more pleasant with their guests. 더 보기
"HIExpress Riverhead"
We are frequent travelers and use HIExpress often. We have a small dog and never have had an issue or been charged a pet fee. I was quite surprised to find the hotel wanted to charge a $50 fee. "Nice rooms, reasonable, very good location"
This was my second time staying at this hotel - - its very nice, rooms are clean, updated, nice bathroom. The location is great - lots of places to eat, shop, etc. The only issue I had this time was that someone was smoking nearby in the morning and the stench made its way into my room. Not the way I wanted to wake up. I mentioned this to the young […] woman at the front desk who barely aknowledged me (no eye contact -- I think I disturbed her as she was sitting in the back). She mumbled that I should have left the key in the room - - not realizing that the purpose of my standing there was to tell her that someone was smoking. Would have been nice to get a smile and a "show" of concern, oh yes, and call me crazy, a "have a nice day". Next time I would be clear that I wanted non-smoking no-where near a smoking room (if that was infact the issue) and also on an upper floor (we were near the back door and so we heard all the traffic of people coming and going) - else, I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to others. 더 보기

This was fantastic and deserves more than 2.5 stars. We had a lovely big room with a very comfortable bed. Hot breakfast and free internet access included too.Very good value for money. Only a few minutes' drive to restaurants and some shops and about 10mins to the town centre. Also very close to the Tanger shopping outlet. The hotel is a basic, no-frills hotel. The only complaint we had was the bed pillows. There were not enough pillows and they were all too soft, even the firm ones.

It was my bad that I did not notice that it was a pet friendly hotel. I just can't see a hotel allowing animals in the rooms. It gives me the willies thinking a dog was sleeping in the bed I am now sleeping in. The A/C did not work too well and no in room refrigerators.

It was disappointing that they didn't have their own restaurant, but there was a continental breakfast available for us, which was not bad. Also, we had to remind them to open the pool in the morning. All in all, though, it was a good trip and I would stay there again.

We found this hotel very clean, comfortable and courteous. The only thing I missed was having a small refrigerator in our room. I think most standard sized rooms today have refrigerators. Would definetley recommend if you're looking for a reliable, affordable place.

Nice room, nice pool, very helpful front desk. Breakfast had nice variety (cereal,bagels,egg &cheese, sausage, biscuits, cinn rolls and pancakes + more).

Had a great stay. The room was spacious with coffee, fridge and seating area. Plenty of lighting. Heat/ac controls in room worked very well. Room very clean and buffet breakfast in am was a nice bonus.

"nice and comfortable"
bedroom was comfortable and big enough for the 4 of us (2kids, 2 adults) clean and easy, this was what we expected from such a place. neigbourhood is not "romantic", but good for all kinds of shopping (especially a big outlet, 2 miles away !)

"Great for business or pleasure"
The hotel is right near a strip mall, restaurants, mini golf, and a theme park. It was very good for me working at the local hospital for the week. I drove to the beaches almost every night after work (20 minutes driving). The hotel staff were wonderful, the place was clean, and there was a lot of space. "Riverhead Holiday Inn Express"
Kids loved the breakfast. Only 2 criticisms: 1. there were 5 of in the room and never had enough towels 2. Wished the pool stayed open later than 8 pm for the kids.

This hotel was very nice, clean, great breakfast in the morning. All of the staff was friendly and even the cleaning ladys greeted us with a smile!

The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. I enjoyed my stay and the bed was very comfortable. This is the second time I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it has become my prefered area in that area of Long Island. Book the hotel you wont regret it. It is a good value for the price.
