허트우드 인 (Hurtwood Inn) - 서리(카운티)

My husband and I stayed at the Hurtwood Inn prior to flying out fm Gatwick. First it's miles further than it looks down some pretty narrow lanes. Second and more importantly our room was absolutely filthy and in need a a full refurbishment. Had we not been late arriving partly due to its location and had a dinner booked, and therefore had to rush off, […] I would have complained immediately. It wasn't just dirty - the carpet was filthy and I mean filth, so dirty that one couldn't even consider walking around in anything other than shoes. The furniture was all tatty , stained, watermarks on table and generally very poor. The TV was a joke - remember the first small TVs - very boxy at best it was about 12" and remote didnt work (well at least there was one) The decoration was also in a very poor state of repair with paint peeling off walls/windows/door and the bed was at best 4'6" and very lumpy. Shower hadn't been updated since I should think the 60s when it was probably installed - mmm power no - but it did run off its own supply and sort of trickled out. On a positive it was a fair size room close to car park and it is possible the rooms in the hotel rather than the annex are better - however I would find somewhere else. It's just not worth the bother - there are far better value hotels around which are clean and tidy. 더 보기

The Hurtwood Inn provided a relaxing and quiet country stay after a long flight from CA. It is a casual low-key inn w/only the hotel restaurant & pub for dining, both excellent service, variety of dining menu options well prepared, wide choice of breakfast options. Rooms are small but comfortable. This is a place to relax. The Inn has a grassy backyard […] w/tables & umbrellas. There is a general store and a bus stop, otherwise a country walking area so I emphasize quiet. It was exactly what I was looking for. It is tricky getting to the Inn-definitely need a local map if driving. If not (I picked up a rental car in Guildford 2nd day of trip), so, getting to Peaslake from Heathrow, a taxi was about 45 pounds or, a bus to Woking for 10 pounds, a train to Guildford for 3 pounds then either a taxi for 22 pounds (or) a bus for 3 pounds. Driving or a bus to Gomshall is the nearby town (not within walking distance)has a couple restaurants and stores. The homes near the inn are pretty and few, it's a great place for biking, hiking. Staff pleasant and professional and very helpful with directions. There were a varied clientele to include business men, families, young and older couples. The pub was well furnished with open dining areas and comfy leather sofas and chairs. Cheery colors of yellow and red color schemes. No smoking in the facility was wonderful!! Fantaksisk hyggeligt og smukt beliggende i lillebitte landsby midt i den grønne skov. Meget origilal engelsk stemning, god mad, maser af lokale på pub'en. Roligt og behageligt. Værelser af middel standard.
