Our room was recently renovated, very nice and clean. Breakfast was included with decent options. The only issue was the A/C was not working properly in our room. Otherwise, I think it is a good value.

All they had was a smoking room, which was horrible. The walls were thin and it was noisy.

Although it seems line many Days Inns still smell smokey. They're remodeling this one, hopefully it'll smell better when done. Do appreciate the coffee maker, microwave & frig, tho.

We were looking for a hotel near the Iowa State campus, and this hotel was conveniently located. The room was affordable and clean, but very cramped. To their credit, they seemed to be in the middle of some renovations (as witnessed by a great deal of furniture in the hallways), but the room as extremely small and cramped. The staff was not overly […] friendly when we checked in, but they were also not rude. The complimentary breakfast was quite limited, and they were closing everything down a little early, but the manager stepped in to replenish a few of the items specifically for us, which was very kind of him. While I would not highly recommend this hotel, I would not discourage people from staying there, as it was acceptable. 더 보기

A basic, low frills motel, but with a friendly staff, comfortable beds; a nice place to stay for a modest cost.

It's a Days Inn in Ames, IA. If you're expecting the Ritz you'll be disappointed, but for a cheap room close to the Iowa State campus it fit the bill. The security door didn't work on our end of the building but we never had a problem. I also had the inside handle of the room door come off in my hand when I was trying to leave in the morning. It's an […] easy fix and I told the manager as I was checking out, and he said they'd get right on it. I would not recommend the hotel, it is run down and smells. The continental breakfast was pathetic - watched the attendant drop doughnuts on the floor right in front of us. Fortuntely he did not put them out to eat, but the overall quality was poor.

I listed special instructions, such as I wanted a room by 11:00 AM and I wanted a hot tub, and when I got there, no one knew about these special request. And if they did know they made no attempt to contact me to let me know they could not accommodate me. Finally after I agreed to pay an additional $25.00, then they could find an available room.

When we arrived, there were bags of garbage sitting in the hallway, partially blocking the door to our room. The room had a damp, moldy smell and wallpaper was peeling; lacked proper maintenance. When we walked into the office to check out, the staff-member at the desk made a derisive comment about a customer who had just left--completely unprofessional. well, thought initially room looked clean and on the surface it was. But then our phone didn't work at all, so we had to check the plug in and in doing so found sitting, just as we lifted the dust ruffle right in our faces were dirty used kleenex's. Yuck. The phone line was plugged in so went to check around the phone and the phone was sticky! Then […] tried to turn on a light so I could see better to check on the phone and the light didn't work and it felt disgusting! We were grossed out as it made us wonder....alot! The phone never did work and asked for help with it but didn't get any and the light between the beds by the phone we never got working either! It was to be a room for 5 people. 3 adults and 2 children. We had only 2 towels so asked for some and had to call again as they forgot them so it got later and later. Needless to say, I was not impressed. I tried not to be too picky but the more I ran across the more I regretted making my registration with Days Inn in Ames. Liek the price and thought it was fair but really expected things to be working and clean. All in all I was disappointed. Oh yeah, also the card slide thing on the side door to get in was broken and the note said just pull hard and it was taped up with duct tape. Didn't make me feel to comfy at all!! 더 보기

This hotel was perfect for our short "move-in-day" stay. It is close to ISU campus, clean, friendly, helpful. The breakfast is just ok and the breakfast room very small for all us college families. The parking lot is small, but next door business allows parking. I will definitely stay here again as the positives exceed the slight inconveniences.

Not good. The whole motel stunk, and our room was the stinkiest. The "breakfast" was stale donuts. Will not stay here again, rather sleep in my car.

The hotel is decent, maybe a little over priced. The front desk girl was really nice. The location was alright. I found an old pizza box behind the tv though.

We booked the hotel out of convenience and thanks to the service and cleaniless of this hotel. I will never lower my standards again. We traveled with a group, two of the rooms the bathrooms were not clean and smelled awfully. When asked if there was anything that could be done, service said No. While checking in, there was confusion on my side of the […] names the rooms were under. He was not helpful what-so-ever and just kept saying he couldn't help because it was booked under hotels.com. I will admit that I did over-react a bit when he would not provide any support and by over-reacting, I just said that there is no way that I was going to pay for all the rooms when he couldn't provide me with any information. But once I realized the error of my ways, I apologized for over-reacting and he said "I told you". Had I been traveling with just me and my family, I would have left. But as it stands, I will NEVER use that Hotel or chain again. 더 보기

The hotel is convenient to get to from anywhere in the Ames area. The staff was capable and very helpful. The price was just what we wanted to pay.

I was disappointed with the offerings. The coffe was weak. The room was crowded.

The breakfast did not offer many choices and when items ran low an hour before it was to end no more food was brought out. They need to put a TV guide in each room too. Otherwise it was ok. It was clean.

This is a nice place to stay in Ames. Nothing fancy, but it's not expensive. The rooms are modern and very clean, and the friendly staff is very helpful. It's in a great location, near Panera and Starbucks as well as downtown shopping areas/restaurants.

it was a good place to stay for the money and location if pretty good. you have everything you would need in walking distance. place to eat and shopping

I booked this hotel for 5 nights while I sat the ACVP exam in Ames. It was quiet allowing me to study and every thing was very comfortable. The room had a refridgerator and microwave for me to keep my drinks cool and heat up my hot pockets while studying. Since, I did not pass the exam, I'll be back at this hotel again next year. I was very happy with my room and the price I paid. The people were nice and seems to like their jobs. I was a little miffed at the breakfast; I like waffles and most places have them, this place had no hot breakfast except for oatmeal. The danish was very good however.

Very clean, decent complimentary breakfast (not just donuts and coffee). Not overly quiet since it's on a busy street, and no pool, but for a nice, comfy place to rest your head it's great.

Considering price paid, the room met expectations. Much cleaner and quieter than Days Inn in Grand Island or Northern Phoenix.

We had a very comfortable room with all the amenities we could need. The breakfast was adequate and the staff were very helpful and courteous. We will stay here every time we go to Ames.

So hard to find a clean room at a reasonable rate in a college town these days, but leave it to Iowans to figure out how to do it. When we walked in to Days Inn Ames, we could smell Lysol, but in a good way, not the kind of "disinfectant masking a nasty smell" situation. We were totally satisfied with our stay here, clean, comfortable and amazingly […] quiet, considering the hotel was full for move-in weekend at ISU. One minor quibble is the weak continental breakfast, but nobody at this price point does it well anyway. Skip it and walk to any of a dozen other good breakfast options, including Panera, Starbucks, Brueggers, Village Inn and the Grove Cafe, recommended by the Road Food people on NPR. The Patel Family runs Days Inn Ames. Their young-adult children often were at the front desk and are exceptionally polite and helpful. 더 보기

Great room, very quiet, a good nights' sleep even though the motel was full of guests!

Located 5 minutes from Iowa State campus. Comfortable room. Reasonable price. Pleasant, helpful staff. I will stay here again when I am in Ames.

Just wanted to say with out a doubt that this was the cleanest and best rate of any Hotel I've ever stayed at. I can't believe that they haven't received a higher rating than they currently have. If going to DesMoines meant finding a Hotel, I would drive to Ames and stay there for the extra miles.

The hotel was perfect for our needs for a room. We were only staying one night so we didn't need anything special, just a place to sleep for the night, but when we arrived at the hotel and saw the room I was pleasently shocked, the room was great and very clean. The location was on one of the main roads in Ames and you were within 1 or 2 miles of many […] different types of resturants which was great. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. I know that from now on, whenever I need to stay a night or nights in Ames I will be using the Days Inn. I would highly recommend the Days Inn Ames to anyone looking to stay in Ames in the future. 더 보기
