I WOULD FOR SURE STAY HERE AGAIN

Staff and Manager extremely helpful and caring regarding a small problem which was my fault in booking.....The rooms are lovely and comfortable and the view of the harbor is super. Brought my wife and 2 yr old girl to Half Moon Bay for my wife's birthday. The hotel was great and we had a wonderful time. Oceano is located at Pillar Point Harbor (not downtown), but there are plenty of things to do all within walking distance. The only problem was that the spa was closed for remodeling. When booking the room it said full ocean view in the room description. However, the view was blocked by another building directly in front of us. We could see the ocean if we stood on the balcony and looked to the left or the right, but not a full view by any means. Ordered a piece of cake & 2 milks from room service. Took almost an hour and the milk […] was disgusting. You could see it was watered down and had a strange film on top. Didn't even try a sip, smelled wierd too. Although we complained at the front desk about it we were still charged for it. Room was nice though, big and clean. 더 보기

bad customer service. out of all of the employees there, only 1 lady smiled and said hi. the spa was closed but no posting on the website or email alert. the only reason I booked that hotel was because of the location and on site spa! front desk employee did not even apologize for the inconvenience even after I asked them about the spa and told me it […] was closed due to maintenance. after sending an long email to them, one of the employee offered me a bottle of wine to compensate for the spa situation, it was nice for him to offer but it does not make up for the getaway trip mood. it was ruined. 더 보기

Loved the Hotel and cannot wait to go back again. Great restaurants and shops close by.

I would give this hotel more stars but the pictures are by deceiving. They make it seem like there is a clear view for the ocean from your room but in fact the are a ton of sail boats parked out front blocking your view. They a,so make it look like it is beach front, which it is not. Merge like dock front,

This hotel is amazing! Beautiful rooms with gas fire places and incredible bathrooms. We also had ocean views. The was pretty comfortable but not the best I had ever slept on. Although that wouldn't stop from staying there again. The Fog horn does ring all night long, it didn't bother me too much though becasue we had a sound maker in our room. The hotel was lovely and we were impressed by the price and decor. The location was nice the marina and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We thought it was very thoughtful to have a white noise machine to make the room more comfortable while sleeping. We laughed when we opened the drawer next to the bed to find earplugs provided. Found […] it amusing until I was up all night woken by the noises of people and carts walking by in addition to the phone ringing in the next room over and over again in the early morning hours. I found out why all those "extras" were provided - I should've used them! It was a lovely place - I would encourage everyone to use the sound machine and earplugs though if they were to stay! 더 보기

The gentleman at the desk, Ken, was very helpful. He was able to get us checked in early and gave us a few choices of roomes. We were in a room by 12:30pm. Ken actually showed us two different rooms and let us choose. Great customer service! Location was perfect. We were able to pick from multiple restaurants within walking distance. We found the hotel to be very nice and the staff was friendly at check in and check out. My only complaint was the lighting in the bathroom was very poor for applying make up. I also could hear a vacuum in another part of the hotel near our room, which seemed strange to me with regard to the newness of the hotel. Over all we would stay there again.

Its the cleaness hotel ive ever been so far, except the room service takes 15-25 mins wait... But overall the hotel is GREAT!

Enjoyed our stay for the most part -- The foghorn issue shouldn't be discarded easily if you're a light sleeper, it is a constant companion... I slept through it fine, but my girlfriend did not... Hotel is a tad pricey in my view for what it provides and its location (fronts a street and a parking lot, with the harbor view beyond, while the Beach […] House fronts the water), but still a good place to enjoy a couple days... Hotel staff is extraordinarily helpful and courteous... They could teach a class on Hospitality 101... Decent grub and entertainment within walking distance (brewing company right next door), while downtown HMB is 5 miles down the road... Great walking trails in both directions (we especially enjoyed walking up the hillside to the north, to overlook the cliffs and the Mavericks surf break... Bottom line -- not a place to stay if you want your socks knocked off, but a very comfortable Ritz alternative, and a good "crash" spot for deep sleepers looking to chill on a quick getaway. 더 보기

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was very nice, clean and had a nice view. The staff was also very friendly. We would definitely stay again.

This place is not worth what they charge. We had a very unpleasant experience here. We were given a room on the 1st floor, where down the hall was a banquet room, that would be holding a school auction event for parents. We were assured that the event would finish by 9pm, at the latest. Well it didn't. People were walking all around the 1st floor, drinks […] in hand, dropping glass bottles of beer into receptacles. At 11pm, we called the front desk to see if they could ask the guests to please be a little more considerate. At midnight, we were about to leave the hotel and drive back home. It was not until 1am that the party guests quieted down. The next morning (with new staff at the desk), we explained how dissatified we were. All the staff person could do was say "sorry" and hand me the card to the manager, who wasn't in that day. They really couldn't have cared less. This is not a classy hotel. We make many visits to Half Moon Bay from San Francisco, and we would never consider staying at Oceano again. 더 보기

My husband and I just stayed at the Oceano Hotel & Spa this weekend for our anniversary. We had a Deluxe King on the 3rd floor. The room was very nice-- with vaulted ceilings (since it was on the top floor) and a ocean/harbor view w/balcony. We had a large bathroom, with deep tub. The room also features a sitting area, w/fireplace, flat screen tv, wet […] bar, and fridge. One thing that I didn't expect was a "honking" sound coming from the harbor every 7 seconds. I guess the sound comes from the "breakwater", so boats don't crash into it if it's foggy. The hotel does provide ear plugs and a sound machine to help with it. I was able to sleep ok, and I did get used to it. But, someone very sensitive to repetative sounds might have a hard time. Hotel was located close to restaurants. My wife and I stayed at the Oceano and found it exceptional. I plan on going back in Dec for our 47th anniversary. The rooms were spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. It is in Half Moon Bay, CA at 280 Capistrano Rd. Try it and you'll be hooked on it too.

We were only there one night due to our traveling schedule but enjoyed it immensely. The amenities in the suite were perfect, lots of space in the rooms, bathroom was quite large and all products were provided. My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Oceano Hotel. We loved the room, I especially loved the tub. The hotel had wonderful combination of quaintness and elegance. It was far enough away from San Francisco that you didn't feel part of the suburbs, but it was close enough for us to run in to the city with in a half hour. The town of Half Moon Bay was […] just a mile or so down the road with shops, restaurants and grocery store nearby. Our view was nice. could not order movies in room. not sure if remote was broke or why. neighbors were very load in hallway and hotel management did nothing about it.

Went there for a one night mini getaway. A few good restaurants in walking distance. Beach is right there. You get a ocean view from your room. Layout of rooms are nice. Bathrooms nice & bed is comfortable. Fog horn not too loud and didn't bother us! They have ear plugs if needed.

This hotel had it all. Staff was great, parking was easy, room was incredible for such a GREAT price!! We can't wait to go back to Half Moon Bay and stay at this Hotel. Checking in was easy and the rooms were huge. Very Clean.

This was a last minute find for my husband and I for Memorial weekend. We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by the accommodating and customer service orientated staff as well as the beautiful room! We extended our stay one more night because we loved it so much!

The Oceano Hotel and Spa is truly amazing. The location is great, view stunning, and property top notch. I can not wait to go back!!!

An upscale, well-appointed hotel and spa in a convenient location on the harbor at Pillar Point. Only annoyance was the pressurized toilet, more suitable for a truck stop/gas station. The guest in the room above flushed the toilet at 6 a.m. and that was the end of a restful night. Management really should look into replacing those fixtures.

Great for couples, this hotel had an instantly relaxing quality that put us in a good mood when we arrived. We were disappointed by the double beds since we had requested a King but the room was gorgeous and we had booked only 3 days before our stay and being that it was presidents day weekend the hotel was sold out. The area is adorable and the location was perfect. With in walking distance to probably 10 restaurants, a small shopping area and a few bars. Stayed here for one night, had business in San Mateo, this hotel is much nicer than the hotels in the San Mateo area and only a 20 minute drive.

Very nice hotel, but was very disappointed that they did not offer breakfast. For the price of the hotel it should have been included. They do offer room service but very pricey.

My husband and I had a mini-vacation in Half Moon Bay and stayed here. Room was great over all. The handicap accessible room was on the first floor right off of the lobby near the elevators and with accessible bars in the bathroom and wide open sections of the room itself, movement was nice and easy. Our only real complaint was that the noise insulation […] wasn't very good and you could hear noises from the lobby. We had a wonderful room with an unobstructed view of the ocean. Nice restaurant two doors down that was fantastic.

We booked a room to spend our first anniversary here as we spent our wedding night here. When we went to enter our room , the keys did not work. The slip our keys were issued in had a crossed out room # and a new # written in next to it. The room we were initially assigned (the crossed out #) was in a much more desirable location than the room we were […] downgraded to. We would have been very close to where we stayed on our wedding night at this hotel. We explained this to the front desk and they said they were sold out and there was nothing they could do and that the manager would call us later or in the morning. The room's balcony overlooked a restaurant parking lot and we actually got heckeled by some jerk yelling at us from the parking lot. In addition to our lack of privacy, our 'Ocean View' was also obstructed by buildings and trees. We never got a call from the manager. After a week week without a call we called to speak to him. We told him how disappointing our stay was and that we felt wronged by being reassigned with no notice. He gave a very cold apology and didn't even offer to comp the movie we watched or our breakfast. He only offered 10% off our next stay and stated that if we were unhappy with the room, we didn't have to stay! Thumbs down. Very pretty hotel in the marina near Pillar Point. Quiet and elegant. A number of restaurants nearby and a friendly and helpful staff. The room was wonderful! Only stayed one night so didn't get a chance to tryout the spa, but maybe next time....

See my complaint above about where we were originally located and how they tried to accomodate our request. Do not get placed in the hallway near the wedding reception rooms (I called can requested this but got put there anyway). When a resort/spa hotel does not open the hot tub, steam room or spa does it then fall into a Motel category

Very comfortable hotel, nicely situated by the marina overlooking the bay. Connecting shopping center appears to be new but there are enough food options within a couple minute walking distance. Parking was very easy in their below ground lot.

Beautiful Hotel, but when I checked in my room had a view of the parking lot, paid for shoreview. The clerk said i only had a partial view. I explained that I had no view and he changed the room out for us. We were very happy with everything.

Very nice hotel. We had hoped to book some time at the spa but they only had one nail specialist and she was booked the entilre time we were there. It was located near many resturants.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in June. The hotel is very new, clean and attractively decorated. Upon arrival, we were given a room upgrade and a free bottle of champagne when they found out that we were on our honeymoon! The hotel was beautiful, the location was beautiful, and I have no complaints about the service. However, I do not believe the rate per night was worth the stay. I have stayed in hotels with 1/3 of the price of the Oceano that have been just as nice. I believe all in all, you are paying for the location and not the hotel. This is a lovely hotel and does a large wedding and event business which is the downside. In order to get a "view," the hotel is stretched lengthwise. Rooms with a view are on one side and the event rooms on the other. Our room was not only a truly long walk from the lobby but near to events which were endless. To their credit, the hotel closed the […] events at 10pm, but clean up continued into the late night hours and at 6 AM we were awakend to the thunderous crash of tables being put away/taken out in closets near our room.
