This postmodern hotel does have decent service. They go above & beyond to please. However, I'll list some major caveats. 1) No swimming pool or hot tub! 2) No bath, only shower! 3) If you get a river view, the train will wake you up! Yes, they provide earplugs, but I find them uncomfortable to sleep in. 4) Valet parking is a rip off. Street parking […] is free. Just be sure to register your car by phone with City of Milwaukee & park on the correct side of the street. The valet will give you the number to call. 5) Beware of the creepy life-size murals of naked women. You'll have their "artistic" faces staring at you all night. 6) I'm not a fan of low lighting and could have used more brightness. 7) Soap dish had soap sticking to it. Rain shower was overrated. Plus points: 1) H20 Sea Salt shower gel is totally invigorating. 2) When the hotel messes up, they compensate you with chocolate covered strawberries & champagne if it's a special occasion. I didn't drink and I sent back the alcohol in exchange for fancy sparkling water. They lost my breakfast order but they compensated me with a complimentary brunch. The staff prides itself on service. 3) Try the honey-yogurt prickly pear smoothie - yum. 4) Brunch had fig & duck gravy - very fancy. 5) Great views of Milwaukee skyline. 6) Plenty of privacy & sound-proof rooms for adults. If you like the atmosphere of a bar, with dark colors, then you'll like this place with exposed vents and wood beams. If you prefer the ambiance of the Calatrava-designed Milwaukee museum, try another boutique hotel or Aloft. 더 보기

This was the perfect weekend getaway. Such a fun place and very luxurious and high end feeling.

Live in Chicago and drove up to Milwaukee to get out of town for a night. What a wonderful experience at the Iron Horse. Check in was quick, the room was great! Decor of the hotel is fabulous, staff was friendly from the bar to the restaurant right down to the valet. This hotel was a destination unto itself. We will be back for sure!

As a designer, I travel every week and have many opportunties to compare decor, service and other amenities that either add or detract from the guest experience. I only have two complaints about the Iron Horse: the beds are too soft for me and they could redirect a little more air to the treadmills. I should note that everything else...the service, […] staff and food were just excellent. This visit was with my wife and daughter -- on a successful campus visit to Marquette University. The Iron Horse is an absolutely beautiful hotel with amazing accommodations and food. I was there for business but would most definitely return for a weekend getaway. The staff was very helpful and quick to respond to my requests. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Milwaukee.

-Nice hotel, very friendly atmosphere and nice decoration -Nice room, like the decoration, clean room -No bathtub but nice shower -All kinds of snack, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages are in the room. They are available for a fee. There is no need to go to a vending machine. -Ear plugs are given because the hotel is quite close to the train tracks. […] When we were there, we did not hear any trains. -We will stay there again. 더 보기

We went away for a quick girls weekend to get out of Chicago and the Iron Horse was perfect. The complementary cocktail upon arrival was a wonderful start to a great stay. The hotel bar and restaurant were sleek and cool, the room was cozy and chic and the service was delightful. I would definitely recommend to a friend!

My husband and I spent the week-end at the Iron Horse Hotel. We loved it. We had a corner room with fantastic views. The room was spacious, well appointed, and very comfortable. LOVED the room, the lighting, layout and tub were just awesome. Used the workoutroom and it was really good too. Parking was valet only and cost $25 dollars which I thought was a rip off so I parked on the street and moved my car every 2 hrs(didn't need to after 6pm-9am but did have to call the city and get a conf number to park overnight on the street) […] Was not a big deal since I only stayed one night but if I was staying 2 nights I would have just paid the valet $. Valet was more than helpful in giving me info for other options in parking. When I called on the way, front desk said valet only and no other options which is not true. Surrounding area not the greatest but we only left the hotel for a quick cupcake run anyway. Hotel was wonderful! Ate at the Smyth rest in hotel, had the tasting menu which was really good but overpriced. 더 보기

What a great find! The Iron Horse is pure luxury and all about customer service. I won't stay in any other hotel in the Milwaukee area again.

Restaurant is GREAT! The night-life is active. Decor is VERY interesting. It is a 15 minute walk to the 3rd ward - where there is lots of fun things to do and of course the hrley Davidson museum is a MUST!! even if you don't ride.

Great, eclectic vibe. Staff was very attentive. Not much in direct neighborhood that i would walk to, but close enough to downton to be a non issue (less tha 5 minute drive). If I were a motorcycle person, this woul be a must stay.

We stayed 1 night in the Iron Horse hotel, probably the best one we have ever stayed in. The room was spotless and modern. The history of the hotel is very interesting!! We were on the 4th floor with our window facing the train tracks. After living in Chicago for 3 years right by the L tracks, this train didnt bother us at all. Only went by twice that […] night. The staff was super nice, the only downside was the valet parking. They do have off street parking, but its checked by the city often, so we played it safe with the valet. We ate breakfast in the library, it was deliciouse and not too expensive. I would suggest this hotel to anyone staying in Milwaukee if you want a fun experiance and unique hotel to stay in!!! 더 보기

Absolutely the coolest. It was in an out of the way place - yet close to great bars and a really great restaurant (Crazy Waters). I've already recommended both and my friend thought the same! Will definitely visit the outdoor terrace this summer.

This hotel is so wonderfully unique! Such character- like a modern retro lodge. With a brick & huge pine beam interior w antique appointments and gorgeous lighting at night, it is a must stay. Stayed at the hotel for night after a long day of flight delays coming from Texas. The hotel is perfect for a couple with no kids. It is not a family setting and I do belive that is their target market. Great design, large rooms, great bar (with freindly staff). The weather was horrible so it was hard to venture out, but the lobby seemed to be a very […] happeniong place so we did not feel like we were missing out on a night on the town. Room service was the only thing that I did not like. The service was prompt and there was once again great service. For $60 I thought the breakfast could be much higher quality. Great masculine design with the heavy wood beams and metal stuff. It's an old mattress factory redone by a carpenter developer. Good bed. Bathroom had the usual trendy hotel downfalls, noisy PC "environmentally friendly" lights that didn't light enough. Fantastic shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap. The upgrade to corner king alcove was worth every dollar. Ample amount of space created a strong sense of luxury and escape. Charming yet modern.

JUST EXCELLENT. No better hotel in Milwaukee

I hate to tell people how great this Hotel is, because I want it to be available everytime I go to Milwaukee. Great location. Great rooms and great staff! It's the only place we stay when we go to Milwaukee.

The best hotel we've stayed at in a long time. The staff was professional, dog friendly(even had dogs names waiting for them to check in with water and treats). The room was fabulous and the best bed I've ever slept in. I'd go back in a heart beat.

Many mainstream hotels chains lure you in with primitive amenities like continental breakfast and a free newspaper. The Iron Horse Hotel will literally reach out and grab you by the shirt collar and transport you to a whole new level of Unique hotel stay experience. The staff, the food, the Valet service, the Drinks, and the house keeping staff are professional and second to none! The room service breakfast was horrible! And you must valet park your car, there is no other option. Otherwise the hotel is clean, comfortable, and the rooms are huge! I'd stay again, as long as I planned on eating elsewhere.

NOISE NOISE NOISE. The hotel is situated ON railroad tracks, and you hear loud trains very early in the morning (5am). The hotel even warns you of the noise and provides foam ear plugs! They gouge you for parking too, which they should provide free. The location isn't great; nothing in immediate walking distance except for Harley Museum. One light bulb […] burned out in room, too. You won't want to leave because they have everything at the hotel. It was clean, service was friendly and the decor was great.

The hotel was great, very eclectic. There was a FULL mini-bar, comfortable bed, and rainfall shower. Room-service breakfast was pretty affordable. In the lobby was a full bar, pool table, lounge area, and restaurant. Nightlife is readily availble within a 5min walk or short taxi ride. We gave "room comfort" a 1 because housekeeping repeatedly bothered […] us... we stayed for one night (noon check out) and asked for a 9:30am wake-up call. Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:20 to clean the room. We spoke to the front desk to complain and they said they would notify housekeeping. At 11:00 while showering housekeeping showed up again to clean the room. I guess they wanted us out!! We complained at the front desk and they comped our breakfast which was nice. The $25 valet overnight parking is steep, park on the street for free but remember to call and notify the city so you don't get ticketed, the doorman will give you a paper with the necessary info. 더 보기

I really loved this place! It was as beautiful in real life as it was in the online pictures, which isn't always the case. Everybody was very courteous, kind and helpful. It was also conveniently located a short walk from the Bradley Center where I was attending a weekend conference, which I enjoyed since it meant I wouldn't have the hassle of driving […] and finding parking, or the expense of a taxi. We found a place to eat within walking distance as well as shopping in the Third Ward-an experience you cannot miss! One word of caution, be sure to use discretion if bringing along your children. I did find that the "theme" of the hotel was adult in nature and some parents may find the wall murals in the rooms (as least the one in mine) to be questionable material for children. All in all, my experience was nothing short of great. I would definitely have no reservations recommending this hotel. 더 보기

The hotel is very nice. I didn't know what to expect. The room was neat and I loved the oversize shower. What we didn't know is that the Iron Horse was named after the railroad cars and sits right on the tracks. They have complimentary ear plugs in the room. My wife and I stay at the Iron Horse for a night. I must say that the service was fantastic. When we arrived we were greeted by the valet, who was very nice and helpful. It was around the 4th of July and we asked about were the fireworks were at and he offered to get times/locations for us. Check in was equally pleasant as were the bartenders and other […] employees we talked to. The quality of the employees really made the experience. The hotel was close to the Harley museum, about a 10 minute walk. It was pretty close to the Casino as well. We drove to dinner downtown, probably farther than most would want to walk. One thing I didn't know until check in was the $25 parking fee, you had unlimited in and outs, but I thought it was a little high. Overall it was a very nice stay and I would go there again. 더 보기
