There were bed bugs. I checked out and went up the road and was lucky to find another room.

You don't really want to know what we thought. First off, upon checking in we realized the sink did not properly drain water. Apparently it was clogged and would have overflowed. Obviously our opinion of your accommodations is less than great. Furthermore, due to these circumstances, we, would not ever be able to recommend your hotel to our friends. TERRIBLE! The first room that we checked into, was so dusty, dirty, and cobwebs everywhere! The second room, headboard broke as soon as we sat on the bed, the cleaning staff removed the headboard, where 2 inch nails were exposed! Later that day, the bed fell to the floor!!!! Had to sleep on a bed that was caved in the middle! and where there were 2 […] inch nails exposed above my head! The next morning maintenance came and fixed, had to stand outside in pajama's while the one man maintenance tried to fix headboard/bed! Absolute worse hotel I ever stayed in, NEVER AGAIN! 더 보기

I'm not stay in the Howard Johnson because I have a situation with this hotel, but I have a good time in the country suites inn in absecon. I have a good time , the staff was good and awesome. Thank you and I want to come again

When we first pulled up my husband and I were shocked that the hotel was so far from the boardwalk. When we checked in the staff was so very nice, and the rooms were nice and clean. It was nice and quiet at the hotel without all the "pimps" and whatever else walking around near the boardwalk. And the best part, the hotel offered a free shuttle to and […] from tropicana so we didnt have to drive back n forth which was totally unexpected. Enjoyed our stay, close to the AC boardwalk! The room was very clean, staff very polite! Good price!

Dont stay there. Room size was comfortable but dirty under beds never cleaned the corners or behind the bathroom door. Paint peeling all over the place, and puddles all over the porch. Breakfast looked nauseous. Go find a better deal this is really not worth even a very good price!

If you're willing to clean your own room, search for towels, rid it of bugs, and not have any television, microwave or shampoo-then this is the place for you. If you're willing to spend the money just to crash at night...go ahead, I RECOMMEND paying a bit more and having some convienences!

It was great. The only thing was we couldn't walk to the beach.Parking was bad. All and all it was good. I would stay there again.

While clean, this hotel is on the outskirts of Altantic City It was difficult to find and not near any of the casinos, restaurants, or attractions. We had to drive to get to the beach, and then parking became an issue. However, the pool was nice. But I feel we overpaid for such an old, out of the way hotel.

Like a previous reviewer, I was a review skeptic. I even read his/her review and thought, "It can't be that bad." But it was, and now I wish I'd paid more for a nicer place. On the second night of my visit (a pouring rainstorm) I got back to my room around 1am and my key had stopped working (it had previously been working). The office was illuminated […] but empty and locked. I called the number for the front desk and got no answer and no answering machine. I called hotels.com and got put on hold indefinitely. After an hour and a half, I found a maintenance guy walking around the premises. Apparently this was the guy who was supposed to be at the front desk. He finally let me in around 2:30am. Also, the TV didn't work, the bathroom was filthy and the entire room was slanted away from the door. It literally felt like I was walking uphill to get back to the front door! Trying to reach the staff to discuss these issues has been impossible. The manager has been unwilling to return my calls to this point. The low price seemed attractive to me when I booked, but after my experiences with the room and the staff, I'll never stay at a Howard Johnson's again. 더 보기

This hotel is the worst hotel I've ever seen. The place needs alot of TLC. I can't believe the price e charged for this mess of a hotel. Will never stay here ever again. I couldn't wait to leave, good thing I was staying for one night. Started to leave before my stay, it was that bad. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The Hotel was located about 2 miles from boardwalk. We rode our bikes to the boardwalk. The pool at hotel was clean, no bed bugs present which is very important, room smelled musty, chairs and table were nasty, bed was comfortable. It was ok for a place to sleep but wouldn't want to stay for too long.

I was very unsatisfied with the up keep of the hotel. The carpet was not vaccumed,there was a dirty bath cloth left over the shower curtain; the room felt uncleand. DAY 2... Breakfast was being placed in baskets without using any gloves, just the workers bare hands, i couldnot beleive my eyes!!! I will not reccomend this hotel anyone.

This hotel was okay, we wanted to take our kids to the beach for the weekend, so we knew the prices would be high, but i think we overpaid for this hotel/motel. the pool was closed until 1 hour before it was scheduled to close for the night. the room had a funny smell, and no breakfast. it served it's purpose as some to "just' sleep.

the pool was closed for 2 days out of 3 days reserved, the room had a musty oder and was not properly serviced also the staff was ill equipt to accomadate the guest, overall not satifiede

I booked a whole weekend for my wife and I but after only a few hours we decided to leave. Insects, bad service, green pool and bad location are the highlights of this place. Please don't stay there.

This stay was TERRIBLE!!!! First, when I checked in I asked for a crib for my 1 year old. They said they didn't have any, then said they would try to find one. They then called and said they had a pack and play, which I said was fine but they insisted I come look at it to make sure it was fine. It was, and then I realized that the reason they wanted […] me to come was because they wanted me to lug this thing up to the second floor where I was staying. So I did, and was mad and sweaty. Then my daughter was tired and screaming. I left the room only to find the manager lurking around my door and then he asked if everything was ok as if I was beating my child. The next day we had breakfast there and they kept didn't air condition the room as if to get people out of their faster...but the lobby where the staff worked sure was air conditioned well, right next store...open the door and give your guests that comfort! Not to mention when we were there the attendant hardly put any food out though there was plenty in their fridge. But if the rude staff isn't of concern to you lets see....the place smelled like urine...we were in a non-smoking room and it smelled like a chimney....the cable didn't work and we only had one station....you could barely walk around the bed to get to the bathroom because the room was so full of furniture...and best of all the walls are so thin we were woken up at 4am by all of the drunk people coming back from the clubs. Bottom line...AVOID AT ALL COSTS! There are much better hotels for cheaper if you look hard. 더 보기

The price was good but our room sucked. Our room had a bad smell there was a dead bug on the bed, the bathroom door didn't shut right either did the front door, the sink handle was broken, bathroom wasn't cleaned too good, pool was green.

I was very disappointed with the location of hotel. It was further from boardwalk than I expected or was told. Management sucked. We requested the hotel room be cleaned because there was an odor but nothing happened. The rooms we reserved were rented out, the keys didn't work and had to be rekeyed several times. The night receptionist was exceptional, […] friendly, accommodatilng and patient but he was the only friendly staff. The day staff never asked how our stay was and never fulfilled our requests for towels and cleaning. Nasty is the main word I would use to describe this place. The floor actually creaks when you walk on it. The room was dirty. There were some indescribable insects running around the room. And the pool closed before it was even dark outside. Find ANOTHER place to stay if you know what's good for you.

Do not stay at this motel, not hotel. I repeat do not stay at this motel. As soon as I swung the door opened my jar drooped. It was dingy and dirty looking; looked nothing liked the clean bright picture. The bathroom was just despicable. The door was off of the hinges and cracked at the bottom, the sink drain was clogged and the stopper did not work, […] there was a dirty towel with a large brown stain hanging over the shower. Ugh, just a mess I tell you. I didn't dare sleep under the covers, who knows what I would have found. I slept on top of the covers on a crunchy mattress. Please do not stay at this place and keep them in business. Someone needs to close this dump, because it is awful. The price was right and it was close to where I needed to go. Hotel was exactly what is expected for the price paid. Lovely pool, and shuttle bus to casinos. Staff was wonderful. I had a fantastic trip!

This Howard Johnson was the worse., the room had a smell like mold and it was dirty. The towels were dingy with holes in them, I would NEVER stay at this Howard Johnson again!

don't expect too much and you won't be too dissapointed cheap hotel bathroom was clean sheets were clean the rest was dingy and worn good enough for a shower and a couple hours of sleep

When you opened the room door all you could smell is mildew, like water had leaked in the room and it was trying to air out. 2 o'clock in the morning there was a pounding at my door and freaked me out...I'm sure someone was drunk and had the wrong room, but it was enough to make me leave and go home at 2:30 in the morning...

Unfortunately the room smelled like a pool hall, cigarettes smell, moldy. It was very filthy. We found an old dirty cute tip in the bathroom. Horrible stay, so sorry I had to write this kind of review.

Their were bugs in the room the ceiling was falling apart just very bad.

This was by far the most DISGUSTING hotel I have ever stayed at. The doors don't close, it's dirty and the sheets and bedding are not changed. When we pulled down the covers, we found blood spots, many pubic hairs and a cheap bracelet. Obviously, the sheets were not changed. The TV was on when we entered...so maybe the maid was hanging out and having […] sex in the bed. When I called the front desk to complain, they said they did not have any clean sheets....4 times. I was in Atlantic City for a concert and was looking for something close but less expensive than the Casino rates. This was less expensive but still pretty costly. I think that it was NOT worth the money. Pay the extra couple of dollars and stay at a Casino. The only good thing I can say is that it was kind of close and a shuttle did stop by to pick […] up guests. Otherwise the following were bad: The sheets had burns in them as did most of the other furniture in a "non smoking" room. The bathroom tile was cracked with an inch or more gaps between the walls and tub. The room smelled of mildew and the floor under the AC was soaked by morning. The beds were lumpy and the springs were shot. The list goes on but you get the point. This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at and I'd never go back. 더 보기

During one of the busiest weekends(and most expensive) for A.C. travelers, this fits right for your wallet. At a fraction of the price that's to be found at the boardwalk, it's the perfect place to stay if money is your top priority, especially if you're only planning to sleep fro a few hours as I did. It's only 2 miles away on Albany Av, past the HIlton […] casino. Other than that, there's really no reason to stay here. P.S. they do have a pool! 더 보기
