Room was stuffy and upset allergies, no vent in the bathroom elevators we closed for maintenance.

First stay at this historic hotel, and it was well worth it. Have stayed many times in downtown Detroit hotels but the Book Cadillac tops them all. Fast, friendly and easy check in. The hotel and room smelled so good. It did not have that stuffy hotel type smell if you get my drift. It was like staying at home as the room felt like a house not a hotel. From the carpeting to the sheets to the bathroom. Everything was nice and actually felt clean. We will definitely be back and will try the Michael Symon restaurant that is right […] inside. Stayed on New Years Eve 2011. The room was great--lots of space, but as other reviews noted the walls are paper-thin. (Wasn't a problem with my neighbors, but it was very noticeable) I was skeptical about the bed's claims but it was fantastic. Shower/bath area was great too. If I had known that I would have gone out somewhere else for the evening celebrations. Loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Detroit. Newly renovated, modern yet cozy rooms; great on site restaurant "Roast"; reasonably priced valet parking; great value for the price! I would describe myself as "hard to please" when it comes to hotels, and this one met my standards in every way.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It's very pretty inside and the room was very cozy. The bed was comfortable and we had no issues. The pool/jacuzzi area easy to find and enjoyable. I will definently stay here again.

The hotel, which was built back in the early 1900s underwent a restoration a few years back but it's a stunning hotel. The hotel reception, which is actually on the 2nd floor, share the space with the lobby bar - which is in a gorgeous room - the old art deco is mixed with new elements. My Wife and I stayed on a Saturday for our anniversary. The room was very clean and nice but lacked some very basic ammenities: no luggage stands for our luggage, (which we don't put on the floor in any hotel), no closet to hang a hanging bag at all, and no brochure highlighting the restaurants at the hotel with price points or hours of operation. I […] had hoped to have breakfast at the hotel but chose to eat elsewhere. We are somewhat dissapointed with hotel but I am hopeful these slight blemishes will be corrected by the hotel so that your stay will be free of defects in ammenities and service. Very spacious room. Everything was very new and nice. The service at the front desk was a little bit off but not a deal breaker. The room service cost a fortune and the room was rather pricey. Overall I do feel like we got what we paid for. A great room in a location close to the event we were attending for the night.

The hotel was very beautiful, the staff was very friendly, and the room was great. The hotel is within walking distance of many downtown attractions. We went into one of the restaurants right before they were getting ready to close, and they made sure that we were taken care of. We will be staying at this hotel for our future visits to Detroit.

Although a little pricey it was worth it. Dirving form toronto canada to watch a venue at the Fox theater. We found the event then the hotel within minutes. Checked into the hotel, although finding it through the parking lot was a bit of a challenge but we meet very nice residents to the other half of the hotel and the guided us to the right direction. […] We checked in, admired our room while we got ready for the venue and then left. We came back to have a very nice sleep and even nicer inservice breakfest. Again really expensive meal but it was better then take out. As a Starwood member I will NEVER spend money at this establishment. They need to learn that "customer service" isn't a phrase its an experience. My interaction with staff compelled me to write this review in hopes that no one else waste their money at this hotel.

We stayed only overnight for our anniversary & I wish I could have stayed a week! The hotel is elegant and modern. The beds super comfy & the room spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the hotel bar as well. We only had contact with the front desk, bartender and valet and all were great. Highly Recommended!!

Nice big rooms. Very clean. Cons: Coffee maker was unplugged. No condiments for coffee. No stir stick. Pool was freezing cold and the hot tub was too hot.

This was our first time staying at the Westin. The hotel is very beautiful. We did go down for Tiger's opening day so every hotel in the city was booked and it was very busy. I don't know if this had anything to do with the little bit of an "attitude" that the front desk clerk had while checking us in.... We made our reservation for 4 people however […] the only room available was one king bed. The ammenities indicated roll away beds were available so did not think this would be a problem but when we arrived, we were told these were first come first served and they were all out so 2 out of 4 of us had to sleep on the floor..... Keep in mind that there is no comp. breakfast type of thing offered. Also use caution while valet parking your vehicle here. While waiting for our vehicle after checkout, I counted 3 other cars that had received damage and were filing incident reports with the hotel and I had only been standing there for a few minutes. If you are going down for a Tiger's/Lions game, this is a good hotel to choose from as you are within walking distance to the stadiums and Greektown. However, there are other nice hotels in the same area that are less expensive, offer some type of comp. breakfast, have better views and/or parking is included with the rate. . 더 보기

Waited in line to check in over ten minutes. There was no book in the room with restaurant information so you go down to the restaurant and are told you can't eat there because you didn't call for a reservation. Um, no book, no telephone number so how was that supposed to happen! Ended up eating at a bar in the hotel not intended for dinner fare. Paid […] $50 for a steak I was thinking must be at least 10 oz.....was no way it was more than 4!! When staying at this hotel, if you avoid the on site restaurants where the service is rude and incredibly slow you will enjoy your stay.... 더 보기

My stay at the Westin Book Cadillac was great. The rooms were clean and warm. The staff were nice and very helpful. Everything about the hotel was fantasic except for the location. Yes the hotel was near the Joe Loius Arena (The reson we went) but besides that there was nothing much there. Most buildings around the hotel look rather run down and some […] where abondoned. Beautiful Hotel with comfortable rooms. Roast Resturant in hotel is outstanding.

Overall the quality of this hotel is first rate. I used to live in Detroit and the area around it is still a work in progress until you get to Woodward where the city looks vibrant. It's a good quality Hotel. Give it a try. Restaurants are superb and the rooms are nice!

Love the bars in the Hotel and the club in it but they need a after hour bell hop person and the valet is slow

Five star hotel with a high quallity of service.

This Hotel is very nice, clean and the rooms are very large. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My husband was in Pontiac, Mi for business and I was traveling with him. We ended up having to stay over the weekend and decided to head to Detroit. We wanted to stay at a hotel with a spa so we could get a couples massage and found the Westin. This hotel was awesome! If we asked for anything, they would have it up to the room right away. The massage […] at the spa was incredible!! I travel with my husband a lot for his business and we've stayed in a lot of different hotels. I always say that no hotel bed and comforter could ever compare to our bed at home but I would take the Westin's bed and comforter over mine any day!! Best sleep I've gotten in awhile. Pool/spa area was clean, quiet. Rooms beautiful. Only complaint is that we never received housekeeping service during our 2 night stay.

This was a beautiful hotel that just oozed class and sophistication yet due to the economic crisis in Detroit, costs a fraction of what it should. In most cities in North America, a hotel of this caliber would start at $400.00 per night. Detroit really could use the tourism boost right now and with such great, cheap hotels and great restaurants, cheap […] shopping, sporting events and casinos everyone should look at Detroit for a nice weekend getaway. 더 보기

I was extremely excited to stay at the Westin Book Cadillac. I'm somewhat of a fan of "Detroit Ruins". All of the old classic buildings that sit derelict in the motor city really intrigue me. For the last 25 years the Book Cadillac was one of these buildings. Not so anymore. Westin has really outdone themselves. The hotel is an absolutely beautiful, […] immaculate gem of Detroit, and they should be proud that it is open once again. When we first arrived the valet's took care of our car, and let us keep it curbside so we could unload our belongings and come back down and not have to wait for the vehicle to be brought up. Check went as smooth as you could like. The staff were courteous and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean. Everything looked BRAND new. The plasma TV on the wall and the furnishings offered a high end feel to this property. The bed, they call it the Heavenly Bed...it is quite soft and nice, but I prefer a bit of a firmer sleep. Your mileage may vary. My girlfriend loved it however. We didn't get a chance to try any of the restaurants on the property, but we did have a few drinks at the Motor Bar, which is adjacent to the lobby on the 2nd floor. Our bartender was friendly and the drinks quite good. Overall I rate the property quite highly and would stay here again and recommend it to others. 더 보기
