The hotel was really great. The only problem was a non-working exhaust fan but that was no big deal. It has adjustable beds and the pool and hot tub were great. The breakfast buffet isn't a bad deal at 10 dollars for all you can eat. I would stay again when I am headed that way.

Hotel was great. Nice, clean and seemed newer than others we've stayed at in the area. My big recommendation.... avoid the small restaurant off the lobby. They are extremely slow. We tried them for breakfast and waited 40 minutes for simple hot meals. Came back that evening and waited over 30 minutes for appetizers. Rooms are great, pool and work out area are great. Night management could do a better job of keeping guests quiet. There was a group of high school students and they were noisy till way past midnight and again by 5:30am.

Staying in this hotel was a very good experience. We chose it since it was close to the college where my sons are attending. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The bed was a sleep number-type mattress and it was so comfortable! We will definitely stay there again!

The hotel was pretty nice but when we got to our room there was left over food from the last guests in our fridge. I think the cost was way too much considering our room wasn't clean and it doesn't come with breakfast. We paid for the breakfast and there wasn't hardly anything out. I wont be going back

I stayed four nights, and the room and beds were comfortable and clean. Internet access was appreciated. I only had two minor annoyances - on the first night I noticed the shower drain wasn't draining very quickly, so I mentioned it to the front desk and they assured me they would have maintenance look at it. It never got looked at. The second thing […] is I had the "Do not disturb" sign on the door one morning so I could sleep in a little, but I left the room before noon and removed the sign then. I was disappointed to return to my room that evening and find that it never got made up in the afternoon. Maybe I should have requested it when I left.. 더 보기

While room was clean the A/C was extremely noisy, no bathroom fan and temperature control was difficult, if not impossible. The mattresses were lumpy and soft. We would not recommend this hotel when for the price, it's not worth it. Plus, all the all the corrections could be easily made.

Hotel is very nice overall and fairly new. Only problem we had was that the bathrooms had a bad, mildew smell when we arrived. We complained and they had someone come up right away but it still smelled bad after the second cleaning. Nothing a little bleach wouldn't cure but oh well. Purchased a room with two queen beds and a breakfast buffet. Water was pooled all over bathroom floor when we arrived and floor was dirty. The mattresses were "adjustable" and either had a sinkhole in the middle of the bed, or else a big bubble rising up--unsleepable. The pillows were also like bubbles--did not "crush" at all--no sleep for us. The next […] morning, we were told we had to pay for the breakfast buffet even though it was to have come with the price of the room. The buffet was only starches and sweets plus cottage cheese, overripe fruit, and the only hot item was oatmeal--for the price of almost 6 dollars apiece. Outrageous. When we told the waitress we were to get the buffet free, it took another 20 minutes to sort out the mess and included a trip back to our room to get our original receipt for the room. The hotel realized their error, but did not apologize and due to their mistake, we ended up 10 minutes late for our appointment. Although I'd booked our room over a month in advance, we were given a room at the back of the hotel right next to the main highway, and, where the delivery trucks started making their deliveries at about 4 am. (No sleep) We were surprised that the Hilton was situated between a pizza-bowling establishment and a strip mall. 더 보기

The hotel was very nice and clean. Front desk was helpful. Breakfast service was a little slow and seemd a litttle disorganized. Why no fans in bathrooms?

We tried the jaquzzi room. It was very nice. Easy to find location. Clean & comfortable hotel. Front staff wasn't the most helpful, but that is minor.

I thought the hotel was excellent. The only thing I had a drink at the lobby bar and it was double the price of any upscale bar in the area

The hotel location is relatively close to the ISU campus. We stayed for graduation, which is one of the top 5 busiest days of the year for the hotel. They only have 2 computers to check people in, and had one experienced and one new person checking people in. The manager was walking around offering bottled water and coffee to the 20+ people in line, […] rather than helping the new person check people in. I don't understand why training someone on one of the busiest days of the year was a priority, rather than bringing an experienced person in from another hotel for the day. The beds are the variable firmness type, and no one staying in the room was comfortable after sleeping on them, even after adjusting them several times. Overall, the hotel experience was ok. It was cleaner than other hotels that I have stayed at in Ames, but if you need fast service, I recommend staying somewhere else. 더 보기

The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We stayed here for a girl's night out, but once we got to the hotel, turned it into a girl's night in. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and the bathroom was very clean. My only two complaints would be the bed was very firm and I was not aware that […] it could be adjusted and there was no continental breakfast included with the rate. Other hotels at this price point offer at least something for breakfast for free. Having said that, I would still recommend this hotel and would stay there again while in town. 더 보기

For the most part this hotel was accomodating for our trip. We were going to a tournament at the Ames Ice Arena. This hotel was a perfect location for that. The only problem that I had was with the temperature of the room. Either the heater was blowing hot air and the room was roasting or if you turned the heat down a degree then it started blowing […] super cold air and you'd be freezing in a matter of minutes. Ended up shutting the thing off and only turning the heat on for a few minutes at a time. One of the elevators was broken for a short time. One of our players was stuck on there for about five minutes. The hotel did have someone out that evening to fix it. 더 보기

My nephew runs for the University of Missouri Columbia and I have been to Ames for track meets several times. The Hilton Garden Inn is always the choice for my stay in Ames. The decor is elegant, serene and relaxing. We were served fresh hot cookies in front of the fire place and took advantage of the 2 for 1 happy hour. Very nice hotel and accomodations. Clean, pleasant staff and Sunday buffet was very good. Will definetly stay again when traveling to Ames.

This hotel is only 2 years old so condition is excellent. Close to Iowa State University campus. We did request a non-smoking room and upon our arrival were given a smoking room (smelled of stale cigarette smoke). Staff immediately found a new room for us. I am surprised that the entire hotel does not prohibit smoking. Beds are the most comfortable […] I have experienced in a hotel. Although breakfast is an additional cost, I highly recommend the made-to-order option. Sports bar next door is not the best and I would not recommend eating there. The hotel was very comfortable especially with the temporpedic beds. It was minutes from Iowa State and most of Ames. The only negative was that they made you pay $11 for breakfast if you wanted anything hot. They did offer pastries and other breads for $3, but still, kind of a rip off.

We came to Ames, Iowa from the Chicagoland area for a family wedding. We were very happy with the HIlton Garden in Ames. The location was right off the main highway. The rooms were large and fitted with refrigerators and microwaves as well as flat screen TV, and desk area. The breakfasts were amazing! I wish that they had a free breakfast, It is kind of an expensive hotel not have amenities like that.

The room was very clean and comfortable. However, we were just a little disappointed. We were looking forward to an in-room movie and there were none available. I had hoped for a small workout room and the closest one was a mile away. And, at 7:30 AM, it was all but impossible to get enough hot water to shower.

The room was very spacious and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in! It had down pillows,down comforter and an adjustable mattress for firmness.

Nice hotel - good condition but lacked service - only one person at front desk most of the time and service was very slow. Food at hotel vy limited
