포사다 드 기마랑이스 - 노사 세뇨라 다 올리베이라 (Pousada de Guimaraes - Nossa Senhora da Oliveira) - 기마랑이스

This government run high end hotel is conveniently located in the historic center of Guimaraes, the cradle town of Portugal. The hotel was hard to locate by our GPS. The center of town is not accesible by car. finaly our gps directed us to a chain/gated street which is where the attendant told us it was the parking for the Pousada. We walked about 150 […] yards and tried to enter the Pousada whisch is in the main plaza. What looks like the main entrance is the Pousada restaurant which was locked. We went around and on the small side street was the entrance. The rooms were spacious and decorated properly. The bathroom had some mildew spots on the ceiling. The bathroom could use some remodeling. The heating system had a rattling noise that kept me awake for awhile till I changed the speed of the fan. The room came with complimentary breakfast which was very good. The hotel doesn't have complimentary wi-fi. Near the Pousada we had dinner at a Santiago's restaurant which had very good food for a reasonable price. The town is a beautiful medieval town which has everything within walking distance. A visit to the Paço del Duque is worth as is the Alberto Sampaio Museum. A more beautiful Pousada (also more expensive) is la Pousada de Guimaraes de Santa Marinha although is is not so convenient to the center of town. The room was very dark and very hot, although we went in October. We had to open a window because of the heat, but then there was a lot of noise all night long. There were not enough lamps so the room was very dark. The location was great but we had to park about a block away and had to carry all our luggage because there was nobody who could help […] us. You can drive all the way to the entrance of the hotel only early in the morning or after 7pm and then only for two hours each time 더 보기

Das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt, hat eine super Lage und das Service ist sehr aufmerksam. Das Zimmer war riesig und das Bett auch. Ein biessen dunke, da das Haus sehr alt ist. Sonst kann ich es nur weiter empfehlen.
