This hotel was a beautiful place to stay on the inside even if it wasn't in a scenic area on the outside. The suite was beautiful and comfortable with lots of space. We could have easily brought our three kids along with us (although we were away for our anniversary). The restaurant downstairs was great with baked items fresh every day. Staying in Colonel's Suite feels like at home. It is not big, but every suite is just right for a family. It is not fancy, but it is a place that you want to come back after one tiring day. People who likes quite and worm feels, will like it.

We also stayed at the Astcou. It was so charming, but so loud we could not sleep at night. The Colonel was clean, a good location, spacous annd most of comfortable.

Our stay was shorter than we would have liked. We were treated with professionalism by the staff, but they were friendly and personable, as well. The suite was impeccably clean and everything functioned as it should. We had privacy and comfortable furnishings. The bonus was the excellent restaurant and bakery downstairs. We picked this suite at the last minute, there weren't any suites left to reserve in Bar Harbor but we had a pretty good stay. Pros: Quiet location, FREE breakfast (pretty decent selection) at the restaurant/bakery downstairs, clean and roomy with living room and kitchnette. Cons: almost 20 mins away from Bar Harbor (thought it was closer), housekeeping […] did not replace toilet paper or empty trash, check in/check out, check in is at the bakery but there's no signage of that. 더 보기

Nice accomodations in a sleepy town about 15 minutes from Bar Harbor. We arrived late in the day (8:00 pm), and the town was completely dead. We had to drive over to Bar Harbor to find a place to eat. Staying away from Bar Harbor can be good and bad. Good if you want to stay away from the crowds and be somewhere a little more quiet. Bad if you are looking […] for shopping, restaurants or entertainment. Colonel's Suites was nice and clean and provided everything we were were looking for. We stayed in room number 5, which had a very strange layout and was pretty small, but again, it had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and the hours it was available catered to our schedule (started serving around 6 or 6:30 as I recall). Didn't get a "traditional" Bed & Breakfast feel staying here, but was very pleased and had no real complaints. 더 보기

We had a great stay at this inn. I think the rooms were recently renovated or brand new construction. That was definitely unexpected judging from pics I saw online. I wished my home looked like this! The high ceilings, comfy beds, 2 TVs, lovely new furnishings, etc. were all very nice. Some things to know: The inn only had 5 rooms and is above a bakery/restaurant. […] Breakfast is great and is right at the restaurant below. There is a parking lot behind the inn. Colonel's Suites is a wonderful, small hotel. There are only 5 rooms, so it is very quiet. Northeast Harbor is the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island, so if you want to be among the hustle and bustle, this isn't the place for you. However, if you like your space, want a great deal and a non-cookie cutter hotel, this is it. We were looking for a clean, conveniently located, reasonably priced place to stay with a breakfast other than "continental". The Colonel's Suites satisfied all of these expectations and more!
