We've stayed in this hotel now 3 times in the past few years. The clean, modern style of the hotel is a nice change from some of the more dated hotels in Funchal, and gives a light, airy feel to the rooms and public areas. The location in the hotel zone is absolutely fine if you have a hire car (free on-street parking is never a problem), but slightly […] less convenient if you rely on public transport - though there is a bus stop nearby - as the walk to the Old Town is a good 40 minutes of so. There's a good selection of shops and restaurants in the immediate area near the hotel. We again had a large superior room (#1305), which had two large twin beds pushed together and a huge bathroom with separate corner bath and walk-in shower. The large balcony had a table and chairs as well as two sun loungers and had a great view down over the hotel pool and garden to the promenade and ocean just beyond. No tea/coffeee making facilities provided, so we brought our own travel kettle and bought supplies locally in the nearby Spar and Pingo Doce supermarkets. Our room also had a fridge and a modern TV with 50 channels including many UK ones (BBC, ITV, SKY etc.) and pay-view movies. Unfortunately the wi-fi charges are expensive and there are no free PCs available for guest use. Breakfast was of a good standard with a large buffet selection including cereals, fruit, cold meats, eggs, bacon etc. It's particularly good to be able to take breakfast outside on the deck overlooking the ocean - even during the winter season it's normally warm enough to do this due to the sunny micro-climate that exists over the bay of Funchal. The hotel staff are friendly and keen to resolve any problems that might arise - I've been impressed on several occasions by their professionalism. All in all, this hotel is great value for money and an excellent base in Madeira. We will certaily return again. 더 보기

An excellent, modern hotel with all the facilities that you would need. Outdoor pools were in constant use even in November as was the Indoor pool. Stunning sea views from our Balcony. Buffet restaurant for breakfast (included) was incredibly well stocked with a whole variety of cooked and continental options. The Buffet Dinners that we had (2 - not […] included), were good quality and plentiful 3 courses. However, the restaurants in the immediate vicinity and in Funchal town were varied and of very good standard and were less expensive. Overall we certainly intend to return to this Pestana Hotel in the near future. We visited the Pestana Carlton and the Pestana Grand (both 5* Hotels) and whilst extremely good we prefffered the Promenade (4*) as it was new and very modern with exceptional views. 더 보기

we were very happy with our stay at the pestana promenade and would certainly recommend to friends .The pool and surrounds were especially lovely.

Hotellet var helt supert. Flott rom med minikjøkken (gjelder ikke alle rom), flott service. Utendørsbassengene var ikke oppvarmet, men det var deilig innendørsbasseng og spaavdeling med boblebad, sauna m.m. God frokost og vennlig personale. Anbefales.

Tæt på busstoppesteder til centrum, tæt på strandpromenaden, dejlig indendørspool, som var meget værd i uge 2, hvor det godt nok var solskin hele ugen men af og til lidt frisk pga. blæst. Informationsvelkomst på internt TV, dog manglede oplysning til lige præcist vores ophold om, at badekåber til brug ved poolen kunne lejes og IKKE var incl. i pris […] en. 더 보기

son point fort s'est que l'hôtel est neuf ! A revoir dans quelles années ! Au niveau restauration et buffet petit déjeuner il y a beaucoup à faire : difficilement concevable que le café lait soit distribué en machine dans un 4 étoiles! les viennoiseries sont à revoir elles n'étaient pas fraiches. Ich haber 6 Nächte im Juni 2011 in diesem Hotel verbracht. Leider hatte ich ein Zimmer das durch eine Doppeltür von einem anderen abgetrennt war, jedoch war es sehr hellhörig. Ich konnte ohne Probleme Gespräche im anderen Zimmer mithören. Auch die Zimmertür zum Flur hin ist genauso hellhörig. Ebenso sind die Wände sehr hellhörig und die Dusche der […] Nachbarzimmer hat mich mehr als einmal geweckt. Wegen der hellhörigkeit nur 3 Sterne für das Zimmer. Die Ausstattung des Zimmer ist ansonsten gut.Nette helle Farben, Spiegel, Licht. Es gibt einen leeren Kühlschrank im Zimmer der genutzt werden kann, z.B. um eigene Getränke zu kühlen. Der Service im Hotel ist aber sehr gut und das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich von der Rezeption über die Kellner und Putzkolonne. Kellner merken sich welche Gettränke & Zeitungswünsche man hat (sie haben für jedes erdenkliche Land einen Din A4 Zeitungsausdruck kostenlos zum Frühstück). Sie bringen einen beim Check-in ins Zimmer, rufen dann nach ca. 1h Stunde an, ob alles in Ordnung ist (das hatte ich bisher noch nicht einmal in einem 5 Sterne Hotel) und auch die Rezeption ist sehr freundlich & druckt einem Busfahrpläne und dergleichen aus. Leider ist das Internet nicht kostenlos (28Euro für eine Woche WLAN - gibt auch LAN Dosen im Zimmer, bin aber nicht sicher ob die auch funktionieren). Ich habe mir dann mit einer Vodafone UMTS Sim Karte für 15 Euro für 10h 2MBit/s Internet ausgeholfen und war sehr zufrieden damit. Die Außenpools sind ganz nett überall stehen Palmen die Schatten spenden (ich glaube Sonnenschirme muss man mieten), aber waren zumindest jetzt im Juni nicht beheizt. Auf der Poolpar sitzt ein Lüfter der ab und zu für einige Minuten anspringt (Klimaanlage?) und relativ viel Lärm macht, man kann sich aber weiter weg legen. Zur Zeit (Mitte Juni 2011) wird das Nachbarhotel komplett saniert und entsprechend hört man Presslufthämmer & dergleichen. Also evtl. noch 1-2 Monate warten wenn man ein ruhiges Hotel möchte. Ett underbart hotel med gym. pool, havsutsikt och lugn stämning! Det är nära till city, även om Pestana Casino hotel ligger närmare centrum. Men personalen och det välskötta hotellet är perfekt för avkoppling - många bra restauranger inom gångavstånd..
