They own different properties in the same street so make sure you know where they are putting you...you might need to drag your bags down a couple blocks! There were NO […] amenities and the rooms were extremely plain and furnishings sparse. The Internet didn't work the first two days which is not good if you're there for business. Even though I wasn't expecting to spend much time in my room, I'd like the room to be more welcoming and less hostel like especially since the room wasn't cheap! ...I guess I was expecting a little more. Just returned from a September, 2010 trip. Property is not a regular hotel, which I knew in advance, fair enough. There is no on site manager but one will show up and provide assistance if you coordinate your arrival time, and you better do this or you will not know how anything works. The staff person did nicely help with information regarding taxi […] and moped reservations. Very nice property location. My problem was I prepaid many months in advance for the "Belvedere Suite" which has a beautiful view out a large window which you can see while in bed. Very quite in the back part of the property. That's what I am talking about !!! Upon my arrival, this room was occupied. The suite name was on my reservation and there was no chance that a mistake was made on my part. I was given a very small adjacent suite and the reason for the problem was poorly explained and downplayed. The refrigerator did not work and the property manager knew in advance it was broken, so why not have it fixed? Therefore no ice, or ability to store any food or beverage. On day 3 of my 3 day stay, I finally went into the Belvedere Suite while it was being cleaned. It was much bigger with the fabulous view I had paid for! My little suite was so small that the closet door hit the side of the bed when opened. The room given to me was on the Tournabuoni street which is busy and noisy. It had only regular type windows with no practical view over this busy street. Not horrible for me, I sleep with earplugs, wife not happy. This was not what I paid for. I would never have selected this room at any price because a view and peace and quite were very important to me and the money was not an issue. Hotels.com did give me a 20% refund, but to me, on a romantic, wonderful trip, this was flat out fraud and all of my money should have been refunded by the property, not hotels.com which I do not blame and still use. I choose this hotel because i like the location. As I arrived at the adress from the website, they send me to another location, almost 1 km from where i would like to stay. If i knew i was going to stay in another place, i could choose another hotel..
