Motel168 Qingdao Railway Station Inn - 칭다오

Basically, be aware that this is a budget hotel when booking and you should adjust your expectations accordingly. There are no frills but it's clean and both the hotel and the surrounding area felt perfectly safe. The photos are a bit misleading, the interior of the hotel is older than it appears and has many paint chips. Oddly, the bedding was of […] much nicer than the photos make them look. Bathrooms are surprisingly nice compared to the rooms. Carpet had some stains, but I still felt comfortable walking around barefoot. Staff was friendly and helpful. I could usually find an English speaker when I needed them (although most staff members spoke only Mandarin) The area feels old and a bit dirty but there are nearby department stores and restaurants. The location was in no way inconvenient, but I think if I returned I'd stay closer to the newer commercial district in the eastern part of the city. For travelers not familar staying in asian-style buildings: toilet paper must be placed in the trash can next to the toilet, not in the toilet (this will most likely be the case no matter where you choose to stay in Qingdao). Asians prefer much harder matresses than Westerners (again, this will most likely be the same for all hotels in Qingdao). Asians don't use central heating or efficient windows. Each room has it's own heater and you will need it constantly turned on in the winter or you will be very very cold (maybe not an issue in expensive hotels, but expect it in all hotels of this price range). 더 보기

A bit further from station than I thought, and a bit noisy at night. Otherwise, no problems.

Room basic but clean. Bathroom had a stale smell, but fully functional and clean. Beds rock hard, but this is the Chinese preference. Staff don't really speak much English, but no problems checking in or out. Didn't try the breakfast but it looked like quite a small and unappealing buffet. 莫泰168飯店位在青島火車站附近，步行即可到達，鄰近棧橋、可以沿著海邊走到許多景點，附近又有機場大巴快線，是非常適合遊玩居住的地方，不過飯店有許陳舊，吸煙與不吸煙的客房似乎已混在一起，客房的清掃服務也不徹底，是為缺失。
