It was convenient as it was on the eastern edge of Susanville. The room was nice but the towels were a little stingy and I didn't like that the television volume only came up half way, for a person who cannot hear very well, it was frustrating. On the positive side, the continental breakfast was exceptional! There were 2 major problems which prevent me from giving an overall 5 star rating. 1) The entry cards were flawed. It took 8 card rewrites, the assistance of a manager to confirm their problem, and finally a different "backup card" to finally open all the doors consistently. So, perhaps […] the problem was the cards themselves. 2) The pillows! OMG! Tired after a long day, I buried my head in a pillow to sleep, only to inhale the smell of dirty hair, sweat-soaked pillow. The same with two others before I stopped smelling them and slept on my back the whole night to keep my nose away from them. I called their attention to this the next morning and room service replaced them, but seriously --? In 60 years of sleeping in hotels, this was a first! Otherwise, the room was clean and well maintained, the staff was very pleasant and helpful, the place was well kept up. But for the problems mentioned I had to score hard on room comfort, and cleanliness, as there is no way to specifically address the problems I mentioned. 더 보기

Staff was very friendly. Nice continental breakfast. Large room and very clean, wi-fi worked great. I would stay hear again!!!!

Everything was well, I just coudn't sleep perhaps it was the anticipation

They have hot breakfast...waffles....came in handy when it 20 degrees out side

The coffee pot needed to be cleaned, The A/C was barely adequite and quite loud the shower head needed to be replaced peeling wallpaper in bathroom pool and jacuzzi both closed only apples oranges and coffee for cont. breakfast no breakfast voucher for non existent restaurant. comfortable bed.

The staff was pleasant, the room was clean. We would stay here again!

I have stayed in many 4 star hotels across the country as well as small travel lodges. High Country Inn in Susanville, CA was on the top of my list for cleanliness, comfort and amenities for the price. I would stay here again.

The room was clean and tidy. The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly. Location was close to shopping and restaurants. Outside noise level was minimal to non existant. Did not partake of the continental breakfast...so I will not comment. Would stay again.

Very expensive for what you get - staff not very friendly or helpful. Beds were comfortable - hot tub nice.

we had a nice stay at the high country inn it was quiet and every thing in the room worked real we even got free internet service. thank you

I was very impressed w/the HCI. Clean, nice rooms, great service. Based on the other lodging options I saw in town, I'd definitely stay here again.

Hotel is "new-ish" so has all the updated comforts of a new hotel. The staff was really friendly & helpful and were quite cheerful whenever we interacted. It is located right off the main road through town so is convenient to the traveler. I would stay here again & would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Susanville area.

The High Country Inn was a clean, comfortable place to "hang my hat" for the night. I was impressed.

A great hotel. Clean, modern, friendly. Deluxe breakfast with yogurt, fruit, eggs, etc. Nice swim pool, a good exercise room with strength and cardio equipment. The room is large and has both a large work table and a desk. Wi-fi works well in the room. Common rooms are big and comfortable. Very friendly staff.

Nice looking hotel. Room looked nice and clean but had a few problems. We were right next to stairs and the next morning, people walking down the stairs woke us up. Also, the shower head was broken and sprayed water all over. Tried to report it the next morning but the desk staff wasn't at desk. He was the only one there and was running around taking […] take of the breakfast area. Breakfast was a good setup and the wifi worked well. All in all, had a decent stay but a few problems.. Probably wont stay there again. If we do, not near stairs and make sure everything works the night before. We'll probably try someplace else. 더 보기

We chose your motel online so weren't sure how satisfied we would be but it was very nice, clean, easy to find and we loved the pools. Thanks

This place was OK, but a bit stuffy. The receptionist wasn't very friendly and the place seemed like a wanna-be conference center. The shower wasn't very good and the room had some weird DO NOT signs, my favorite being "do not leave microwave alone". Thank you, I know how to use a microwave.. Breakfast ends at 9am. The young man that cheched us in was great....most helpful and very customer friendly. Beds were much improved from previos stays.

No complaints, this hotel was very clean and comfortable and suited our needs fine. Previous reviews indicated that the hotel will provide you with coupons for a nearby restaurant called the Sage Hen. Be forwarned that this place recently closed (but the hotel offers a limited breakfast of toast, yogurt, cereal, and hard boiled eggs, as least on the […] day we were there). We were pleasantly surprised by the accomodations at High Country Inn. It is modern, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. The town of Susanville, for the most part, looks old and worn and this motel is an oasis within it. The restaurant with which they affiliate, right next door - the Sage Hen - is also very good. I was pleasantly suprised by the clean room, clean hallways and helpful staff. Talking with others who were in town for an event I am glad I choose this hotel and not one of the "cheaper" one's.

Clean! This was a great hotel to stay at. I would definitely stay at this hotel again! Just remember to bring your own toiletries. The shampoo/conditioner is tiny.

We were impressed! The room and the bathroom were huge by hotel room standards! Paying a few dollars more sure paid off with this hotel! Clean, comfortable and convenient, we would happily stay there again.

I've always been very happy with the staff at the High Country Inn, and the quality and condition of every room I have rented. Location is great... right on the south-eastern edge of town on the highway. Restaurant next door, and as a hotel guest, there is a discount on meals. Free wi-fi and I've never had a problem with connectivity. Shopping center across the street - Safeway, Starbucks, Wal-Mart, and more. I appreciate the comfort and familiarity of this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone passing through, or going to Susanville as a destination. 더 보기

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, considering it was in a small town. The rooms were large and a family of four did not feel cramped like other hotels we stayed at during the same week. The location was great- in the middle of town with shops and restaurants within walking distance. My kids liked it here because they had danish and cookies […] in the lobby. The only complaint I had was the hotel gave you a discount voucher for breakfast and lunch/dinner at a restaurant next door only for ages 12 and over. We ended up having to pay full price for our son who was 10 years old and ate as much as we did. I think it would make sense for the voucher to include all members in the party. 더 보기

The caring staff and large clean rooms were wonderful. Huge warm cookies and cold milk were served in the lobby along with other snacks, tea or hot cocoa. A free breakfast and a discounted dinner is offered at the restaurant next door. The food for breakfast was excellent as was the gourmet dinner.
