Stayed here for two nights, was a mix up with the room we booked a twin got a kingsize, was rectified straight away, service was fantastic, room spotlessly clean, excellent pool and things to do for the kids and the food was delicious although expensive, the beds are extremely comfortable although the pillows were rock hard and there is a 5 pound tray […] charge when ordering room service which we werent told about until our third tray. Lovely hotel, beautiful surroundings, high standard of upkeep, beautiful main dining room & great breakfast. Only gripe was the vines restaurant, not great service. Service elsewhere in hotel excellent. Limited swim times with children meant we didn't get to use the facilities but this won't bother those without children!

The hotel was heaving - Christmas work groups, family groups, lots of young children running around etc. Reception and bar area felt like Piccadilly Station. The first room we were selected I was really disappointed with, so do be aware that if you book with Expedia, the room you will be given is quite small and dark because it's situated at the back of the hotel where the views are a large black slate roof 6ft away from your window. Anyway, we decided to upgrade for £15 and move to a slightly larger room […] across the corridoor thy had lovely views of the golf course. This was much better, Bathrooms are small, but the rooms are quite spacious. And there's a little fridge to use which was handy. However, TV in the room is absolutely rubbish. The tv's all need replacing and hardly any of the channels were working so we couldn't watch ITV or ITV 2, we only had sky sports and some BBC Channels. We chose the eat in 'The Vines' which was lovely, the food was really nice, not too overpriced. However I was a little annoyed that although we mentioned we had a gym membership for another de Vere and had been told we'd save 10% on all food and treatments at other de Vere hotels, the staff here were completely unaware of this and didn't bother to ask a manager, they just refused it. The Spa and Pool is not what I expected. It needs alot of work, it's tired and dated. The aromatherapy steam rooms are nice but again they would do with updating. For the size of the hotel they really should have adequately sized exercise facilities. Breakfast was nice but just standard, we wanted ours in bed so were charged £5 for a tray which a little steep. . 더 보기

On arrival we were asked if we would like to book for evening meal, this we did as the hotel was very busy. We went down for lunch at 7.30 as booked or so we thought. We were told it had not been booked but we were lucky as they could fit us in. Other people arriving after us did not have such luck. On arrival at the hotel we were offered a ground floor room with no view or balcony. Second room offered had no view or balcony so on our return to Reception I was ready to complain but I was immediately upgraded to a Golf View Room with Balcony. The spa pool was a little small and very full because of the bad weather. Our main issue with the hotel was the very disorganised breakfast. The hotel was obviously overcrowded and could not cope with the large number of people at breakfast. It did not have sufficient crockery to go round which meant waiting for clean plates, glasses etc. Staff could not keep food counters stocked either which was very frustrating. I feel a little more streaming of residents would have made things much more pleasant. I would still recommend this hotel for its beautiful location and proximity to Chester. Spacious room with the added bonus of our own terrace to sit out in the sun, which we did do! Ate in 'The Vines' restaurant two nights out of the three. The second night was a let down as the staff did not take any notice of us, nobody (including the manager!) asked if we wanted drinks etc and it actually took almost half an hour before we managed to […] call someone over to take our order! What a shame as this really was the only 'fault' we could find. Staff appeared miserable, but then they didn't appear to have much of a role model, sorry! House keeping staff were pleasant and helpful, as were the bar staff. We were charged for items we hadn't had, so be careful, but thankfully everything has to be signed for and as it wasn't my signature, there was no way I was paying. This was dealt with without fuss although we didn't get an apology from the receptionist! The grounds were beautiful and we spent time walking around them as well as playing tennis. Next time we will take our bikes as they wanted £13.00 per person for 3 hours, which we felt was a bit steep. Pool & Spa was relaxing but could do with a little bit of a makeover. The facilities are fantastic - lovely swimming pool/jacuzzi/sauna etc. Room was really nicely decorated and was clean, as we found the rest of the hotel to be. The grounds of the hotel are stunning and very well maintained, with plenty to do both indoors and outdoors! The hotel is about a 10-15 minute drive […] from the centre of Chester so is convenient for getting to Chester and to the Zoo but is far enough out that it is so peaceful as if in the middle of the countryside. Overall really enjoyed our night at carden park. The grounds are in excellent condition, the was spotless and everything in sight was pleasing on the eye. Great hotel, staff and facilities. A lovely stay, one of the best hotels we've stayed in. A couple of niggles with the room arose and they were dealt with straight away, in a courteous and efficient manner. Restaurants for dinner and breakfast were excellent, certain food was cooked to order, everything was fresh and locally sourced. The leisure […] and spa facilities again really good, a little disappointed with the (pool) disabled changing area, which doubles up as family changing room too. There is no direct route to the pool, and no seating, hair dryer, mirror or costume dryer either. This was the only downside and one (as a disabled person), that is common through out most hotels. Parking is a little distant though the hotel's concierge service happily parked and collected the car, when needed. So although slightly inconvenient not a major difficulty. The staff were extremely friendly, throughout the hotel from front of house through to the cleaners. We'd stayed here before and loved it, everything about the place. This time our stay was during the school holidays and because of that we will probably never return. The large numbers of families staying - due to a special offer on kids accommodation and meals - meant the hotel was overrun and noisy. Because of this the hotel service was absolutely […] abysmal. We waited 20 minutes for table service in the bar, 1 hour for our meal in the restaurant and 20 mins for a pot of coffee at breakfast. Nobody told us at check in that there was an allocated time in the pool area for children so we unexpectedly arrived in the middle of it and had to leave due to the fact that we couldn't relax. my husband & I stayed for one night for our 36th wedding anniversary, the staff were very wellocoming the room we had was in the courtyard a very large comfortable room. the pool sauna & steam room very good; although it was very busy with children due to it been half term. The impressive entrance to the estate is just the start to a great experience. Entering the grounds you wind your way through one of the hotel's two golf courses up to an impressive reception. Parking signage could be better as there is no obvious drop off area at reception. A huge lounge/library area awaits as you enter the hotel where you are met […] by a concierge. Rooms are certainly big enough and well decorated. We ate in the Brasserie rather than the main restaurant where the food was very nice although be prepared for a bit of a shock with drinks prices. :-) There is a golf cart track around the courses which can be used as a running track and there is an indoor gym along with a pool/sauna/jacuzzi/steam room and the customary spa treatments. Back outsie there is tennis avalable, a driving range and all sort of quad biking/zip lining can be organised. Breakfast is the usual buffet style and although there is a huge selection there was no hams or cheeses. The omelette chef is always a nice touch. There is very little else in the vacinity of the hotel, a bistro pub is about 2 miles away. Overall a great hotel experience and we will definitely be back. 더 보기
