Skyler Hotel is beautiful, rooms are very spacious, staff is very courteous, but it's just too bad that my Calvin Klein pyjamas I forgot behind the bathroom door were never "found" by housekeeping, and that there was no effort from staff to return 2 messages I had left (I finally reached a manager 6 days after we left). A jewel in Syracuse. Our King Suite was amazing. The service was outstanding. They provided free transportation to all local venues. They also have a very nice bar in the lobby. It is a small, classic, eco-friendly hotel that I would highly recommend. A+ service.

Beautiful hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Only 2 blocks from SU. Will definitely stay again.

If you have a student at SU this is a fabulous place to stay. It is only 2 blocks from Marshall St, the heart of campus. It is contemporary and comfortable, and i liked the focus on positive environmental impact both in the building renovation and it's on-going operations. The beds were very comfortable, room lighting was well designed, bathrooms were […] contemporary with walk in showers, and the interior decor was fun. If you want something to eat there is a convenient snack area in the lobby with items for purchase, plus they have a bar for coffee or drinks. My only gripe was the lack of a sound barrier in the rooms. I could hear my "neighbor", and the sound of slamming room doors early and late - a nuisance. 더 보기

This hotel was charming, comfortable and very well situated if you're touring or visiting the university. They are very "green" in their maintenance routine. Also, although there isn't a restaurant attached, there is a bar in the lobby and a small food vending section. Being an ESF Alumni when looking for hotels I decided to give this LEED Platinum hotel a chance instead of the Genesee Inn where I would ordinarily stay. Glad I did. When I graduated 16 years ago I lived 2 blocks from the Skyler Hotel and remember it as a Synagogue (at least I thought it was, but I never actually been inside). So to see it repurposed […] as a hotel was pretty cool. Rooms were spacious (I had a King) and oddly shaped which gave it more character than a typical 20x20 hotel room. I won’t bore you with all the ways this hotel is “green” (read their website) but I will say that it’s location to M street and SU (2 blocks) make it ideal for just parking your car the whole weekend and getting around on foot. Staff were nice and friendly, free wireless internet, free parking, mini fridge and 1/3 the price of the Sheraton. Unfortunately, I spent all the money I saved on ESF and SU sweatshirts for my kids, gorging out at Varsity and Dinosaur BBQ, and drinking at Blue Tusk. Good times. 더 보기

Our stay at Hotel Skyler was a delight. We were in Syracuse as part of a 10-day trip to visit colleges in the tri-state area. We were extremely burned out and planned to spend Sunday relaxing and recharging. We couldn't have found a better choice. The hotel was unbelievably comfortable -- especially the bed. All the staff, especially the front desk […] clerks, were very friendly and helpful. We loved all the "green" touches - particularly the soft sheets and towels, and that they didn't charge for parking. We spent some time by the comfortable roaring fire in the lobby. Our only complaints were the relatively limited dining choices nearby, but that has more to do with Syracuse and nothing to do with the hotel. 더 보기

We love these boutique hotels in Syracuse, both Skylar and Parkview. They are within walking distance of restaurants and we enjoy the ambience Therese red buildings. We'll be staying here again!

very cute hotel, pretty decorations in the room. clean and comfortable. lobby decor was very nice. The shower was modern but kind of odd- Syracuse is too cold to have a shower without a door that closes or a curtain to have the steam in. This hotel was a surprise.. have stayed in several area hotels for higher rates and this one was the best ... enjoyed the flat screen TV and staff was always ready to help...

What a nice place in the midst of Syracuse!

The room was pretty tight and your shins are endangered by the bed frame, but the appointments are new and modern and we slept like babies in the comfortable beds. Not having coffee in the room may work in Vegas but it's inexcusable in a mid-grade hotel in upstate NY. Hope they enjoyed seeing me fresh out of bed in the hotel lobby seeking coffee as […] much as I enjoyed paying 2 bucks a cup for same. 더 보기

We stayed at the Skyler for 1 night with my 9-year-old daughter. The hotel is small, very clean and brand new. The rooms are beautiful, modern and comfortable. The staff vas very friendly and accomodating. We loved the place and will definitely go back!

Hotel was nice. Rate was reasoable. Room could have been a little bit bigger, but was pretty nonetheless.

Every employee I met was very friendly and helpful, but not well trained. I arrived and the front desk suggested food recommendations and told me that they have a van so come back after your meeting, park your car and they'll drop me off and pick me up at my restaurant of choice which I was excited about. I arrive after driving 350 miles and a full […] day of meetings to find out the van cannot take me to dinner for another 45 minutes. When I checked in, the front desk never mentioned any time restrictions. I was annoyed and tired but at this point I had no choice. I sat in the lobby, caught up on news, read the compimentary newspapers, and used their business center which had free internet and printing and was very convenient. Again the product is good. I got dropped off at the restaurant to be told that I will have to wait a while to be picked up because the van driver had an airport pickup. I was again annoyed because what seemed like an early dinner and night of relaxation ended up being reading a newspaper at my table after I finished my mail 45 minutes for a pickup. What happened is that the driver had to pick someone up at the airport and had to go right back before picking me up. Shuttle service is very convenient and helpful if you have enough drivers. Do not offer a service unless you can do it right. I return from dinner and ask the front desk what are the options for breakfast. He said there are none and recommended I go to the sister property across the street which was very inconvenient and made me wake up an hour earlier. I get to my room and cannot figure out the channels as the channels especially 1-11 do not correlate with national television and I could not find the channel guide. I missed 20 minutes of watching my favorite shoes to figure it out. I wake up, go downstairs to find out there is cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal, etc to make my own breakfast which I was pleasantly surprised about. Our stay at Hotel Skyler was comfortable. However, it is definitely overpriced. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable. But, for the price, one definitely should get more amenities than free wi-fi. If nothing else, the winter price should be significantly lower than we received. Located on the edge of Syracuse University's campus, Hotel Skyler features spacious, tastefully decorated, eco-friendly rooms. The staff is top notch and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. They are also quite proud of the hotel's very "green" rating. Every aspect of our stay was top notch. My first choice for hotel stays in the syracuse area. clean, comfortable,friendly and GREEN!!! Well worth the 25 minute drive to my destination in the area.

Really enjoyed this hotel while visiting Syracuse University. It couldn't be in a more convenient location! We walked over in less than 3 minutes.

If you are in town for a University or sporting event, this is a very nice and convenient place to stay, just don't expect a lot of amenities.The "green" aspect takes a little getting used to, like having to use your room key to turn on the electricity and the low water pressure. Finding your room is a bit of a problem too, as the layout is a bit of […] a maze. Also, there is no restaurant, just a small bar, and you have to go to the lobby and buy a cup of coffee in the morning. Not much is complimentary, there aren't even any ice machines!(okay, they do give you shampoo and soap..sort of ..the soap has a hole in the middle) The staff is always very nice and accommodating however, and if you just need a clean, convenient place to sleep, this is a top choice.The premium price they charge seems to be for the location only- 더 보기

My daughter is a freshman so we tried 4 different hotels so far- The Skylar was great! Clean,etremly clean,eco friendly and great staff. Would def. come back.

The rooms may not be that much different from a regular hotel but they are new, clean and comfortable. What makes the difference is the friendly service; we asked directions to a restaurant, the receptionist suggested that we take their free shuttle, there is no coffee maker in the room, but there is excellent inexpensive coffee in the lobby with friendly […] service. 더 보기

I really wanted to love the Sklyer mainly because of its commitment to being eco-friendly, and I really appreciated those "green" aspects of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spacious and well-appointed (though the towels were too small!). Although I do not drink coffee, I was negatively surprised to find that ALL breakfast items, […] including a morning cup of coffee or tea, are extra and not provided by the hotel, esp. given that there is no restaurant in the hotel nor any that close by. The so-called lobby "market" (with juices, yogurt, etc. for sale) just does not cut it. Also, the lights in the lobby are WAY too bright and glaring (not at all cozy or a place to hang out as a quest in spite of a fire in the fireplace). There is no covered registration entrance to unpack your car (hard on a rainy cold night such as the one on which I arrived). Also, the driveway entrance from one-way Crouse Street is NOT clearly marked, esp. at night--I drove right by (the sign is on the other side of the entrance) and then had to drive around several one-way streets to get back to the entrance--annoying.) The first room I was given (on the first floor) was so claustrophobic with high ceilings and limited floor space and windows too high up to see out of that I had to request a room on a higher floor with a full length window and more space. On the positive side, the staff on duty were very accommodating and helpful in making that change. The staff overall were friendly, competent, helpful and very welcoming. The hotel is conveniently located to Syracuse University, and I really liked the architecture and historic nature of the hotel. 더 보기

My only complaints about our stay is that the room was very tiny- not even a place to set up my laptop. Considering the regular price is kind of steep, the hotel really offers no amenities. There is no restaurant, just a very small bar and small selection of snack items to purchase. We picked up a pizza after the game and had to open a dresser drawer […] just to have a place to put it and sat on the bed to eat. There is no coffeepot in the room- I had to go to the lobby and pay for a cup of coffee in the morning, with not even a lid to carry back to my room, sloshing all over the place. Otherwise, this is a very nice, newly renovated hotel in a very convenient location to SU. The bathroom was almost as big as the room itself, but the water pressure in the shower could have been better; all in the name of being "green" I suppose...would recommend if you just need a clean, convenient place to sleep close to campus. 더 보기

This hotel is very environmental friendly, very clean and comfortable. The wireless internet speed was super and we enjoyed watching its HD tv.
