"No-frills, good value"
Pretty bare-bones hotel, but rates are great for the location.

Hotel is in transition. Great new bathrooms - but beds and bed linens need to be replaced. (Rugs need to be supercleaned). If you have trouble w/steps, forget it - but if not, this is a great little hotel, priced right and good location.
"Excellent choice for Dupont Circle"
My room was quite small but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Friendly front desk. Ideal location minutes from metro and steps from cafes & The Phillips Collection. No coffee in room, but go to Soho Coffee & Tea at corner of 22nd & P for nice, quiet alternative to Starbucks. Will definitely stay here again.
"Convenient Hotel for visiting Washington"
Hotel had a European look. Rooms were smaller than average. Sound from parking lot was easily heard in rooms with doors leading to condemned fire escape. Overall a nice place to stay for a few nights.
"Hotel Baron - excellent DC location"

"Baron Hotel in Washington, D.C."
This is a no-frills hotel in an older pre-war building, bordering on "quaint." DuPont Circle area location is convenient to many tourist attractions. Room was more than adequate for a a brief business trip for one: clean, tidy, and quiet -- the latter despite the well-known beer tavern on the first floor that seems to be the establishment's chief claim […] to fame. Staff was friendly and helpful. Possible downside is the absence of a reliable elevator, making a lot of heavy luggage probematic. 더 보기
"Hotel Baron in DC - AVOID!!!"
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I travel every week on business. My room was on the 4th floor; which would ordinarilly be okay, except this hotel has no working elevator!!! When I checked in I was told the elevator was "out of service" but should be working tomorrow... When I checked out after 3 nights, I was told the elevator has NEVER worked. […] Also, no iron or ironing board in the room, but you are welcome to go get those out of the "lobby" and haul them up 4 flights of stairs. This combined with a pedistal sink, one bar of soap, only 4 hangers, and a hard bed that never got the sheets changed = I will not be back as long as I live. 더 보기
"Hotel Baron"
Our room was not taken care of one day. I have called the manager to discuss this but he has not returned my call.
"Full of character"
We stayed here for 5 nights over the Easter weekend. The hotel itself had real charm. The room was small, but had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It seemed newly decorated, and the shower was great! The hotel is above a beer cellar, and we enjoyed sampling beers from around the world. Food was available until late, and had a real comfort […] food feel. I would recommend the burger! In the immediate vicinity there were coffee shops (Soho Cafe on the corner was a favourite), a range of restaurants, bars and shops. A five minute walk away was Dupont Circle, with more shops, boutiques and restaurants. The Metro station there was convenient for access to the Mall and Airport. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend it to others. 더 보기

"Hotel Baron in D.C."
Hotel's location near Dupont Circle and Metro stop lends itself well to sightseeing in D.C.The room was clean, very small. The lobby area was not clean or inviting. Steps to the 4th floor rooms are very steep and there was not an elevator. Overall it was convenient, inexpensive for a city hotel but I doubt if I would stay there again.
"Baron Hotel"
My room phone had a bad cord and was not fixed (3days) after reporting. Calls were not forwarded or phones did not transfer to room. No elevator, no fridge. Booked a double and got a King.
"Graceful and Elegant"
A nice change from the big-box hotels -- charming and elegant, close to DuPont Circle and dining but quiet. Great Bierkeller in the basement with a wide selection on draft.
"great location, good price"
I stayed at this hotel for a weekend visit. It's in a nice neighborhood, close to plenty of restaurants and cafes. the room was very small, but clean and quiet. The bathroom was updated, the toiletries were nice (Neutrogena and Bath&Body Works), the towels thick and fluffy. Overall, I'd stay there again on my next visit.
"A loud band plays in the bar until 2 a.m."
Hotel Baron is newly renovated and close to DuPont Circle and the Metro. A great Moroccan restaurant named Marrakesh is around the corner and you can find excellent oatmeal, coffee, berries, and baked goods at a nearby Pan Quotidien. The rooms are clean and the staff courteous. The elevator seems permanently broken, but the problem for us was the band […] playing loudly in the hotel bar until 2 a.m. on Friday. Because Foggy Bottom was a swamp long ago it was not a surprise to see a street rat crawl across the sidewalk in front of the hotel--the hotel itself is well-run but the band was enough to stop us from staying there again. If you are deaf or have noise-canceling earphones that can block the sounds, you may want to stay there. Don't let the rat scare you--he was headed toward the Marriott! 더 보기
"Hotel Baron, Washington, DC"
Small, neat and clean, but the elevator was out of service and all guests had to climb the stairs. Location was wonderful and staff was friendly.
"Hotel Baron - DuPont Circle"
For the location, this is a reasonably priced hotel. Rooms were clean, but small. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a nice shower and sink area, if small. There is a nice bar in the basement of the hotel with a great beer selection, and room service, which I did not try out. It is within a few blocks of Georgetown and embassy row, […] certainly a walkable distance. As for DuPont circle, its not quite in the heart of the circle, which is nice since it would be even noisier at night (we often heard buses drive by, but most city dwellers will be able to tune this out in short order), yet it was still walking distance to the shops, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, and the metro stop. Very convenient location. I would recommend to friends looking to visit this area of DC. 더 보기
"The Baron Hotel and Biergarten"
Cheap in price, you get what you pay for. No elevator service. We walked up 4 flights 3 and 4 times a day. Quite a hike. The hotel personnel were friendly. The breakfast room was gloomy, minimal and with no directions as to how to proceed. The hotel is the home of The Beer Baron restaurant-bar, which has its own patrons. Everyone who wants to smoke […] does so on the front steps, and hosted a nearly continuous procession of smokers. Our first room had no closet, nor hooks of any kind. Only one chair was available, so one person had to sit on the bed. Little room to move around. But the bathrooms were kept clean. Morning coffee was downstairs in the lobby and not very good. Parking was tricky. You had to move the car by 4 pm, and could not return until 6:30 pm, so you had to find places to stay in the interval. And you had to be ready to move into your parking spot exactly at 6:30 or go elsewhere. But if location is you goal, this place, in the heart of NW Washington, is outstanding. Walking to the Dupont Circle area is easy, and the Metro is right there. Best for students and adventurous types. 더 보기
"A fair hotel that has seen better times"
This hotel is set on a rather nice, if old, building. Among other things, this means that you will have to climb two flights of stairs just to get to the front desk. If you are as unlucky as I was, the elevator will be out of order and you will be forced to haul your luggage to your floor. The room and the bathroom are nice and clean. One time, when […] I turned the light on, a huge cockroach scurried under the bed. That might have been just an unfortunate incident, but the lack of poison traps at the front desk left that problem unresolved. Two other potentially big issues are free wifi and breakfast. The wifi signal was so weak I could only make a decent connection from the hallway. If you are on a business trip and you need to be connected, you will find this annoying. Also, breakfast is awful. It looks as if they had raided a derelict coffee shop for pastries. The food is somewhat stale, the coffee tastes like sewage and the orange juice is everything but. You are better off going to the nearest Starbucks. All things considered, it is a fair place, just three blocks away from the subway station and located in a very nice neighborhood. If you don't mind the awful internet connection and the unspeakable breakfast, it might be a good place to stay. 더 보기

"GREAT!"
T.V. didn't work.Internet slow but overall i din't care We loved our room and the places it was in.Next time i'm in town i'm 100% coming back.
"Hotel Baron not yet ready for guests"
The elevator at the Baron Hotel is not in service and no one seems to know when it will be. The heater in my room, although it appeared to be new, couldn't keep up with the 30-35 degree outdoor temperature. It would generate heat for a few minutes and then blow cold air, and that cycle repeated continually. I was told that there were space heaters but […] that there was none available because other people were using the units. The night desk clerk said she would make a note to have maintenance look at my room's heater, but when I checked the next morning, there was no such note. The day clerk said he would have maintenance check the heater, but I never heard a word. Fortunately, the weather warmed up a bit and by setting the heater at 82 and leaving it there all day, the room warmed up by the evening. I liked the restaurant and bar, Bier Baron, and the hotel, since it is in the Dupont Cirlce area, is convenient for restaurants and public transportation. 더 보기
The hotel was clean and so quite. Room were a little bit small, but price compared to location was good, just 15 minutes from the center. I would recommend it for few nights stay.
"its cool"
I needed a cheap place to stay fir the night on a sat night and thry were there for me. They were relaxed and the bar was cool gmtoo
"Hotel Baron"
Hotel was being worked on, but they tried to not interfere with guests. Rooms are small but if you just need to lay your head it's fine. Could use updated matresses. Would still stay again. reasonable rate for what I needed.
"Much Character"
This hotel is perfect for someone that wants a good historic building with a lot of character. The hotel staff was friendly and the bar downstairs had best beer selection and atmosphere of any in D.C., plus you cannot beat the price.
nice and clean room, friendly staff... small breakfast, but ok :-) would go there again
"a nice little budget hotel in a great location"
4 blocks from DuPont Circle near the Rock Creek Park. My room was comfortable and clean, the hallway was too warm but temperature could be adjusted in the room, breakfast nothing special, and a bonus the basement tavern has a selection of >500 beers.

"Great price and location"
Rooms are small, but the location of the hotel is great. Safe neighborhood.
"Well Worth It"
For a relatively short stay, it was well-worth it. Economical, clean, and quiet, despite the front desk's warnings that the bar/restaurant could be quite noisy. Very convenient location if you're hitting any of the sites in the area like the Phillips Collection, which is just on the next block, and lots of shops, restaurants, and markets. Quite close […] to the DuPont Circle Metro station. Complimentary continental breakfast is bare bones (you'd better like doughnuts), but for what you're paying for the room, it's to be expected and could be much worse. 더 보기
"Name should be 'barren'"
This was a prison cell, not a room. No bedspread, window against another building, NO Closet or even a hook to hang anything, not even a tiny drawer to store anything. Room was very small, bed small and pillows thin (only 1 each). No elevator. No new paper cups or kleenex the second day after we used the three kleenex in the box the first night. Nice […] neighborhood, the big draw was the brew pub on the first floor that seemed very popular when we passed by to get to our room. 더 보기
"Hotel Baron DC"
Nice hotel close to the Philips Museum and just two (long) blocks from the metro. Had a well attended pub on the ground floor. Only down side - no working elevator. Nice small but clean room.
"good location poor service"
Good location, but No elevator quality of shampoo is very much compromised lack of regular services other hotels normally offer The front desk person is not very helpful
"Not a Three Star"
While they seem to have renovation under way, my room was small and run down with an air conditioner/heater unit right next to bed. Not a three star hotel despite a great rate.
"Like staying in a walk-in closet!"
I chose this hotel for the price and location (Dupont) as I'm familiar with the area and had stayed in other hotels...I was also encouraged by the fact that the hotel does have an attached bar with one of the largest selections of beer on the planet. I should have known something was up upon arrival when I dragged my suitcase up 2 flights of stairs […] to get into the musty lobby and the woman at the front desk barely looked up to acknowledge me. I gave her my name and she said that my reservation was thru Expedia, though I had made it thru the hotels.com site (something which later caused me to waste time checking to see I had not double booked). I had arrived early and asked for an early check in which they did not have...but was allowed to leave my bag in the lobby by the front desk with a check-tag. I then had a nice lunch at a Moroccan restaurant around the corner-highly recommended eats. When I returned at 2 as instructed, the same woman barely acknowledged me, mumbled something in a heavy Asian accent and STILL did not have a room open despite that being the checkin time she told me to come back for (apparently there was no followup to ensure that happened). She then ran up and down the stairs twice and came back and gave me a key...that should have been a tip off that the elevator was not working...I then asked for help with my 50# bag as I have a bad back but after she ran around the hotel in back, I was told she had no one to help. As I wanted to take a shower rather than wait God knows how long for "help" to arrive, I made two trips taking my carryon and large bag upstairs myself, despite my back injury. I discovered that my bag did not fit through the narrow opening between the door, wall behind it, bed and desk and had to lift it (again, GREAT for my back) over the desk, almost knocking the flat screen TV (one of two pluses in the room) off the wall. The musty room, once I found it in what seemed like a maze of narrow halls, was exactly 3 feed wider than t 더 보기

"Hotel Baron - Péssimo em tudo"
Durante a café da manhã (se é que pode ser chamado de café da manhã) tivemos a infelicidade de encontrar um rato no refeitório. O elevador não funciona, tivemos que subir 3 andares com 5 malas no braço. Existe uma taverna na parte inferior do hotel que proporciona muito barulho ao invés de uma boa noite de sono.
