We stayed at the Tempo with our kids and had a great stay. The location was great for exploring the city. This is one of the only hotels I’ve seen offer two king beds which was a huge bonus, not to mention the beds were super comfy! The hotel was clean and the staff was super friendly. Their espresso martini at the bar in the best one I’ve ever had! Richard providing excellent service in the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again!

My stay with Riggs Hotel was very enjoyable. Upon arrival we were greeted with the vallet on what to do. Very helpful!! Easy check in! Great location!! Only thing I was surprised about was that the bed did not have a fitted sheet? Leaving guest to lay on a plastic encasement? When I asked about sheets, they brought 2 more flat sheets to my room! Very nice! All in all we had a great stay! Already booked again in August!🙂

I always try to stay in nice affordable hotels that sometimes lead to disappointment but this was a very nice hotel that was worth every penny. I really enjoyed my stay in this room, the room felt modern with no carpet (which I enjoyed), the headboard was leather (easy to wipe), and the bathroom had a modern shower head with a handheld shower which was great. The only part I had a problem with was the shower door and floor did not connect well so no matter what I tried the floor got wet. I...

I had never stayed in a hostel before, but I was coming to town to do research at the National Archives, and did not need a whole hotel room that I was never going to be in. The beds were comfortable, all of the other guests were respectful and clean, and I got to interact with a variety of people from different places. The internet connection was fast and strong throughout the building, and there was plenty of other entertainment - i.e., TV, games, books, etc - available if you didn't have any...

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Washington
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Washington is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices are lower. For a great value for money experience, consider staying for at least 3 to 4 days to fully explore the city’s key landmarks and cultural sites. You can visit iconic monuments, engaging museums, and beautiful natural parks, as well as enjoy theater performances, dining options, and vibrant floral displays. This affordable itinerary allows you to immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Washington while sticking to your budget.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Washington, visit the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel options close to your travel date. You could also enable email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you won't miss opportunities to save. Additionally, Smart Shopping is a comparison tool available through the app that helps you compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to be the first to know and book your last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can vary based on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a Washington hotel. If you're interested in a unique experience, boutique hotels often offer a more personalized atmosphere and may provide better value. When you book with Hotels.com, you'll be informed if the price for your selected dates is above or below the average, and if it appears on the higher side, we'll suggest alternative dates that could help you find a better deal.
Consider your location: Staying close to major attractions or downtown areas can be convenient, but it usually tends to come with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central neighborhoods where rates tend to be more budget-friendly, balancing cost with access to your planned destinations. You might also explore independent hotels a bit further out, which are more likely to offer an authentic and cost-effective experience.
