The staff at check in and out could use some hospitality training - this is our 4th stay and this has never improved although overall service at the resort has significantly improved aside from this. The amenities and location are wonderful and it is a beautiful resort. The waiters at the beach were excellent as always and should be given a shout out including Victor, Juan and Edwin

This is our 4th time staying at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba. The service has significantly improved over previous stays and we would rank it 9/10. The updated rooms are beautiful and the amenities are excellent. The food however for a hotel of this level could be significantly improved except for the Sands and Tomahawk restaurants. Also be prepared to 50+ burgers and a significant price tag for all food.

Impeccably clean, every attention to detail was made, the staff is wonderful and friendly, and they provided an upgrade based on availability without even asking. Our check-in day hotel manager and our dedicated support staff went out their ways to accommodate us after unexpected hiccups of our first night stay. Starting from our second day of stay, our experience started turning around and reached one of our best overall luxury hotel experience toward the end of our 5 day stay mostly because of the friendliness and attentiveness of every hotel staff we have encountered. The beach club and kids center, swimming pool and the private beach, all highlights of the stay. An expensive vacation on slippery slope at the start saved by tireless human effort and great services culture. Our kids loved the experience!
