I had a beautiful stay here. The location and view of the Eiger from the hotel terrace are amazing. I wish they would allow visitors to sit and relax there past 9 PM but I guess it makes sense to keep it quiet for the surrounding hotel rooms. The breakfast in the morning was also really good. The hotel has a fan in the room but the room was still really hot so maybe a portable A/C would be nice to offer guests in the heat of summer. Overall I really enjoyed staying here.

We reached a day late and were almost close to the checkout time, even then the reception allowed us to check in and freshen up. The reception staff was very cordial and courteous enough to guide us through our stay and pointed us in the direction to visit places which otherwise we would have missed.

The property is a few steps away from the train and bus station so this makes it very convenient for moving about. The breakfast is really good with lots of options. If you’re travelling on a budget, you can get food from Coop and the breakfast room can be used to warm or have your meal (especially convenient when travelling in groups because the rooms are not very large). They even provide cutlery/ plates and cups.

We had at wonderful stay at Hotel Bernerhof Grindelwald. The staff was amazing, including Lias, Cristine, Christina, the dark haired girl that helped with breakfast, and the gentleman that cooked breakfast and helped during breakfast. The location is great for skiing because it is right across the street from the train station and bus stop. The views from our balcony room were wonderful. The best part about the hotel was the service we received from the staff. Breakfast was very good. It was a great stay and my husband and I look forward to coming back.

5/5 ⭐️ I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! To be honest, when we first arrived in Grindelwald, I wasn’t sure it would be my favorite stop. We stayed here specifically because we wanted to experience Grindelwald first—and I’m SO glad we did. The Mountain Carts and Trotbikes are a MUST! The front desk staff was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. They were happy to hold our bags until check-in, and they even recommended visiting some of the smaller towns in the area, including Mürren, which we ended up visiting and absolutely loved. Our room was fabulous! It had a door that opened directly onto a balcony, which was our only balcony of the entire Switzerland trip—and it was incredible. After being out exploring and hiking all day, having a private outdoor space to sit and relax for a bit was such a nice touch. When I go back to Switzerland, I’ll definitely be looking for more hotels with balconies! The complimentary buffet breakfast was also very, very good. Definitely make sure breakfast is included in your stay—it’s worth it! Overall, this was a wonderful stay and a great home base for exploring Grindelwald and the surrounding area. Highly recommend!
