Great location for the Lakes as almost central. Quiet but near good roads! Lovely grounds well kept Staff very good Room as always spotless. Again a big thank you to the ladies who do the cleaning-Thank you!! Restaurant is ok but can be a bit hit and miss. Had a great lamb dish on one night and a poor undercooked fish and chips on another! BUT. Breakfast is very good. Plenty on offer and the cooked offering excellent. good service. Parking easy Have used this hotel many times and it's excellent value for money and will use it again any time

Love this hotel. Great for parking, staff very professional but engaging and genuine. Room very clean and plenty room. Our room was a garden room. If the weather had been kind to us we would have sat out on our patio. Gardens are well maintained and pretty. Bus stop nearby to get easily into Ambleside. Breakfast was good and plenty choice. Our stay was sooo nice booked again for this August. ❤️

Very welcoming staff . Enjoyed an evening meal on our 1 night stay on our journey to Scotland. Food was very impressive and good quality for price. Excellent bedroom with plenty of space and first class facilities, looks like recently refurbished to high standard. Reception area and restaurant decor slightly let down the quality of the rooms. Would suggest an upgrade to reception decor as this is the first impression of the hotel. Overall a good stay with lots of positives, set in beautiful grounds and an ideal location for accessing the lake district’s attractions.

The food was very well presented.. very good choice , could of been warmer!. .unfortunately our room No 9...was clean but over the kitchen area. There was a door banging quite often early morning, and up to 10pm or so. Also a constant extractor was noisy too. Our room needed a refresh. Plenty of parking.

My only small qualm would be that as we had a dog, our room looked like it hasn’t been renovated in a while; we paid extra for bringing the dog which I would’ve thought covers the cost of extra cleaning even in newer rooms. A genuinely dog friendly hotel (with a lovely welcome gift for the pooch too), while respecting guests who are not necessarily dog fans.

Lovely large room spotlessly clean with comfortable large bed. Lovely decor, tea and coffee faclities and coffee machine. Nice bathroom with deep bath, great for a nice soak after a day walking. All staff very friendly and attentive. Good breakfast selection and dinner was excellent with great service. Ample parking and good base to visit local area. We will definitely be returning. One of the best hotels in the Lakes we've stayed in . Dog friendly rooms although we didnt bring our dog this time.
