We stayed just 1 night at the Skybay but had a comfortable night. The room was a deluxe double lake view. It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was pretty big and the water pressure was decent. They provide basics like shampoo, soap, but if you want a toothbrush and those items they are available for purchase from the vending machines. We didn't use the wifi so can't say whether it's good or not. The hotel has free parking and was easy to find a spot. They have a bakery, and CU convenience store in the hotel, as well as restaurants. We didn't use the gym or pool so can't comment on them though I'm sure they're nice. The beach is literally steps outside and it's a beautiful vibe, especially at night. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend it for anyone coming to Gangneung. Thanks!

1. Lake view room has a great view. 2. If you go to 20th floor, you can enjoy nice sea view and mountain view. 3. Go to the beach to walk around. I felt very safe and pleasant to walk beach at night (many people enjoy walking, drinking, listening busking music). 3. You can buy cup noodle at the conveient store in the first floor and eat it at your room (room has a coffee port to boil water) 4. In the first floor, they sell burger set at reasonable prices ($10 or so) 5. For dinner, we went to 20th floor buffet restaurant. Food was so so (quite disappointing quality) but the view was fantastic. About CAD $100. Beer and wine are included in the buffet. Highly recommend this buffet experience not because of food but because of view. 6. Infinity pool in 20th floor looks great.

Very nice hotel. I had an ocean view room - well worth it with the beautiful view. The room was quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. A very nice bathroom. It was spacious and very clean. The hotel is directly opposite the beach. The hotel was clean and in excellent condition. The breakfast was very good. There are also reasonably priced coffee shops and other dining alternatives for lunch and dinner I didn't use the gym, but I expect the view from the 20th floor is something. Next time. I was expecting much better based on the hotel’s reputation. Compared to other four-star hotels, this felt more like a well-known property in a small tourist town rather than a true four-star experience. First, the front desk service was quite disappointing. The staff felt robotic and lacked warmth. As expected, early check-in was not available, but instead of clearly explaining it as a policy, the responses felt vague and somewhat insincere. The same issue came up when I asked to change to a higher-floor room—they initially said no rooms were available, which didn’t seem accurate, as they eventually assigned me one. The room itself was not exceptionally clean. I noticed dust in the corners of the drawers, and even the gym area did not seem well maintained. The breakfast was also mediocre and did not meet the standard I would expect from a hotel in this category. The view is definitely the highlight, but everything else feels average. Personally, I would rather stay at a smaller hotel with better service and simply visit scenic spots or restaurants for the view. One of the biggest downsides was the lack of basic amenities. Toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided, which is surprising for a four-star hotel. The swimming pool also requires an additional fee, and even the laundry facilities are coin-operated. If you’re coming from the US, or even comparing it to hotels in Seoul, it’s hard to see how this property qualifies as the “landmark” it advertises itself to be.
