Great getaway in Muskoka!

Great hotel, amazing service and fun winter activities: skating, skiing, fat biking and hiking! We really enjoyed our getaway!

The property is very nice however there were no amenities to use at all. Very underwhelming and the room was really sparse and looked very basic and needed some fresh paint. Was really upset as was a special occasion for my husband's 55th birthday. Wont be returning to the resort again

Muskoka Bay Fall trip

We stayed at the Muskoka Bay Resort in early November, a time of year when the leaves had already turned colour and things were pretty drab looking. Imagining a trip a bit earlier in the year might be better to see all the trees in beautiful colour during early Fall might be a better trip. The room had was wonderful. lots of windows and a nice fireplace. Decorated beautifully and the bed was so comfortable! The shower size was good and had great water pressure, I was surprised. The only downside of shower was that we only had 2 towels/2 wash cloths (could have used 2 more of each), but it wasn't a deal breaker. The kitchen had great amenities but there is no place to store food except in the fridge or countertop (small). If you stay for longer than a night or two where do you put your supplies?? Also there was no phone in the unit. I do not have a cell phone so wondering how I could contact anyone if there was an emergency? Or to order pizza, call front desk, etc..Overall we had a great time for a one night stay. Free Parking was plentiful right outside the door to the unit and we enjoyed a view to the pond across the street. We would stay again for sure but would change the time of year we go so as to enjoy the changing colours in the trees.

Muskoka bay (couple, 1 night) - Oct/2021

Overall it was a pleasant weekend for my wife and I. It was obvious the resort is new and needs to pay closer attention to the customer experience. For instance, there is no available outlets bedside to charge your phone when going to bed, the washroom didn't have hooks to hang clothing when changing/showering, and the shower needs a shelf to hold toiletries rather than having to keep them on the floor. The customer experience at the clubhouse for dinner was excellent.

The room was communicated as having a garden view. I had a view of the parking lot. In fact I felt like I was right in it. Overpriced. The sliding door did not lock in my bedroom and I felt unsafe. I moved the coffee maker and it was disgusting underneath. I let the front desk lady know when I was checking out. Did not receive any followup. The room service was swift and friendly. I will not be going back, nor recommending this property.

Ok but not Amazing.

Overall the resort is nice although we did not see too much of it. Staff were friendly and check in was good. We rented a 4 bedroom villa which was very beautiful, big and seemed fairly new. The negatives were that the villa which was advertised to sleep 8, and it could with 4 couples and even more with people on the couch if need be, had 4 coffee mugs, 4 forks, 4 plates, etc. Was not prepared at all for more than 4 which we had 5. Power went out for 3 hours when we first got there, to only parts of the resort, and when it came back on we had only half the lights in the basement and as we found out at 2am when we all went to bed not one working outlet in the upstairs where the bedrooms are located. So 5 girls getting ready on sunday morning could not use one outlet in the bathrooms or bedrooms. That was super annoying. We checked the fuses and panel box and the problem was not there. During the power outage I had to call the resort 3 times to ask what was going on. I would have expected a call to me directly to explain everything not me having to call them. Lots of little issues like this and we were only there 1 night. For the $1800 it cost us for 1 night which is ridiculous it was no where near worth it. I expect beyond amazing for that kind of money.
